Eli says, "are you sure Santa Claus will stop here" ?
I've made three chocolate pecan pies, a big crock pot full of chocolate peanut clusters, and a batch of brown sugar chew bread, for a start!
a pie and some other goodies were for our sweet friend Nellie. She stopped by yesterday and brought us the crystal tree I've put here on the mantle...
and now I'm waiting for the kitchen floor to dry. Just mopped the tiny little thing with Mop & Glo, hoping to put a little shine back on the old floor before the family gets here tomorrow.
Just wanted to say to you, dear friends that I've met through my blog, I appreciate your friendship so much! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Love,
Henny
I always love to see photos of Eli and your decorations. Your Christmas food sounds wonderful, and I am happy for you that you will be sharing it all with family.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Wishing you a very merry Christmas from England, best wishes Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you too, Henny Penny!! You tree looks lovely and I spotted the Teddy bear right away! Chocolate Pecan pie sounds wonderful. Maybe after all the cookies are gone around here I'll make one too.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of Eli! He looks determined to wait for Santa! I hope Santa brings him something fun. Santa always leaves something for our two kitties, Sophie and Zeus.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me - baking and cleaning like crazy before all the family comes over tomorrow! I always make pecan pie but have never made a chocolate one. I'll have to try that sometime!
Henny, thank you so much for writing your magical blog and sharing with all of us in blogland! I cherish the friends I make in this special world! I hope you, Poppy and all your furry and feathered family have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Sending Christmas hugs from Missouri!
Eli looks to be ready and waiting. I bet he will greet Santa with a great big Eli hug! Hope Santa is ready and steady on his feet when that happens. The little crystal tree is lovely----what a wonderful friend to think of you all at Christmas time. How nice to have family coming for the holiday. It sounds as though you all will be eating well tomorrow and for several days thereafter.
ReplyDeleteThings here are pretty much squared away. It snowed a bit this morning and has started yet again. Not too much on the ground and we probably won't get any more than an inch out of it. But it looks lovely and Christmassy which is all right with me.
Merry Christmas!
Victoria
Ooh Eli, you are ready for your treats from Father Christmas I see :)
ReplyDeleteYour home always looks so warm and inviting Henny, and this time of the year, even more so.
The baked goods sound delicious, I have just finished up my Martha Washington candy, now to clean up the mess.
Sending you and yours wishes for the merriest of Christmases, and a Happy and Healthy New Year sear friend.
Hugs,
~Jo

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, blog friend!
I enjoyed your blog all year, Henny. Sending love to all. "Merry Christmas"
ReplyDeleteYou and your blog are appreciated too! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSanta brought my old dog a toy that looked like a dog with a squeaky toy in it on her very first Christmas. As soon as she heard the noise, she ran to the back door as if it was going to murder her. She usually was very brave even as a very young puppy, but that thing scared her to death.
ReplyDeleteShe eventually got the courage, and the great irony of having fun making the toy squeak
Merry Christmas to you and yours! Hope everyone has a cozy day with you and Poppy and all of your four legged family. We have dinner with our extended family this evening and enjoyed round one last night. Happy times and a blessed new year!

Merry Christmas! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Christmas. Wishing you everything that you wish for yourself for the New Year.
ReplyDeleteWondering if Eli shared the chair with any of his favorite visitors?
ReplyDeleteSounds like you were all spruced up and ready for company! I hope your Christmas was lovely and heart-warming. Ours was. However (and strangely) this is a year when I'm ready to take down everything as soon as the kids leave, and get our quiet life back to normal :) Merry Christmas +1 day!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you, Henny, and I hope Santa brought you all something to make you smile!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a blessed New Year dear lady :)
ReplyDeleteHi Henny, Seems like a lovely Christmas day for you all. By the way, I made the Christmas Jam, with raspberries. Came out delish and I gave a jar to each of our 5 kids, plus one for my husband. Now how about the crock pot chocolate peanuts recipe? Happy New Year to you all! And may God bless.
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas tree and the beautiful dog. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI hope your Christmas was wonderful, Henny! Those goodies sounds delish. I'm still working on a cake I baked. I can't seem to leave it alone. Sigh.
