It's all age related!

Last Wednesday I got these awful floaters in my right eye...Floaters that looked like dragon flies. Then the floaters turned to black loops and swirls.

Thursday early, I called the eye doctor and was told to come in ASAP. My eye was bleeding very slowly and pooling...it's called Vitreous something?? Anyhow, he sent me right on to another doctor in Raleigh.  I'm going to be fine, hopefully, but right now the vision in my right eye is blurred. It's like looking through a very dirty window and the floaters now look like a wad of curls hanging over my right eye.

The doctor in Raleigh wants to watch this very closely, in fact, I was back in his office on Friday, and have another appointment this coming Friday.

The teeny tiny garden is looking wild and overgrown these days...

I think it is kind of pretty this way...

too soon it will be gone...

a citron melon vine has volunteered and come up and there are little melons growing...

pink zinnias

and a tangle of tomato vines and pepper plants...

but we found these in the tangle...
tomorrow I want to pickle a quart of these peppers, hot and mild together. I love them!!

That's about it. Thank you for stopping in.

Love,
Henny

  5. Father God, I thank you that you love Henny Penny, that you care about her vision. I ask that you bring full and complete healing to her eye by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. I thank you that he took stripes on his back for her healing. By his stripes she is healed. I praise you that this condition will improve daily. I trust you and thank you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
    God bless you!

  13. I'm glad you wasted no time in calling the eye doctor and that he saw you quickly. It seems that we have to wait so long for doctor appointments any more. I hope your vision continues to improve and there are no complications in your healing. You're in my prayers. I love the colors in your garden; it's still beautiful.

    1. Peg, thank you so much. Yes, I was surprised that both doctors saw me the same day I called. The first doctor said if I saw new floaters, or flashes of light to call him immediately. Hope you had a good Labor Day.

  14. Please keep us updated on your eye problem. We are concerned about you, and we also can use this as a cautionary tale in case we ever experience something similar. It's hard to know sometimes what is serious and what is just a passing oddity.
Late summer gardens have a sort of tumble down appearance that does have its own peculiar charm.

  18. Ooh Henny, I'm sorry to read you are having problems with your eye, I hope the doctor is able to help heal it, and the floaters go away. I've had my share of eye problems, even now, I have permanent floaters in my left eye, they are so annoying. Please be careful going outside without protection of the sun. Your flowers are still looking beautiful, I simply love your Zinnia's :)
What a lovely bowl of peppers, and lots of them !
    Hugs,

  19. Oh my Dear! Any different thing, with eyes, get to a doc, immediately.

My husband has had everything possible, go wrong with his eyes, so we are sort of 'experts,' here. -sigh- It sounds to him, like a detached retina. Which needs re-attachment. Did they mention this...???????

    Please keep us updated.

And please take it easy, till this is rectified.

  21. How frightening. I have had two detached retinas so I know how scary it is to have something go wrong with the your eyes. I hope all will resolve soon and you will be seeing clearly again. Your garden is still doing well. Mine up and keeled over in all the heat!

  22. Oh so sorry to hear about your eye. Will be praying that your sight returns to normal.

  23. Weird things happening with your vision are really terrifying. It's good that you called the eye Dr. right away and was able to get in quickly to see him and the other Dr as well. I had a partially detached retina several years ago (fixed the same day) and it is a scary thing to have happen. Let us know as soon as you find out how things are going and what the prognosis is.

Thinking of you and hoping for the best.

  24. Well you've got a heckofalotta vegetables compared to me! Mine were a Big fat fail this year. I think your little garden is wonderfully wild and crazy, just the way we like them to be.

  25. Surely hope your eye is 100% better soon! Your lovely gardens and homestead are always a pleasure to see.🌻🌻

Hi Henny, The same thing happened to my eye about 3 or 4 years ago. At the time I was staying in a hotel room with my husband and started to see what looked like lightning streaks in my eye. That's the way it started for me, then by the next morning, it was like looking thru a dirty window thru my right eye. So we visited a good eye clinic while we were on the road, and had another follow up when we got back home, but everything went fine and today I can see clearly again with no problems. At the time I think they were concerned about the retina detaching...but thankfully that didn't happen. So I will pray that all goes well for you Henny. Love the pics of your veggies...everything looks great! Take care!

    1. Hey Diane. That sounds just like what happened to me. The doctor told me if I see flashes of light to call him immediately. I'm glad your eye got back to normal and was not a detached retina. Hopefully, my eye will be normal again too. It is a terrible feeling. Thank you Diane.
