I loved these two little goats. Poppy gave them to me for my birthday several years ago. They were young here, we had just brought them home. Where do the years go?
and speaking of birthdays...today happens to be mine, and of all things, I had to get my driver's license renewed. Couldn't help but think about mama. Mama would start worrying six months before the date her driver's license were to expire...afraid she would fail, and not get her license. She would say with disgust, "my old driver's license expire this year".
The little wild bunny has been showing up in the yard every evening just before dark. It is so cute to walk out and see him sitting there.
Better start supper. I'll end this, not much of a post, with a picture or two of the little herb garden.
I have no luck growing thyme, and that, to me, is one of the prettiest.
Oh, I have new followers! Thank you!
Love,
Henny
I am so sorry about your little Asa, it is so hard to lose a pet.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!

Happy, happy birthday. I just renewed my license, I was dreading it, but it wasn't as bad as I expected.
ReplyDeleteOh Henny, so sorry to hear about your goat. It's so wonderful to love animals and so very hard when we lose them. Hope you're having a Happy Birthday any way and can put the sadness behind you. Glad to hear your little bunny friend is hopping around. Hope s/he stays safe! Thanks for a great blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting caught up on your blog, that's so sad about your goats, hope the baby squirrels ma k e it. And that's so scary about your eyes, hope EVERYTHING gets better
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. Have a great day. I told you that bunny would hang around. He thinks he's a person.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, dear Henny Penny, I'm sorry you have to bear this sadness of burying Asa.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your wild bunny comes around. Maybe it knows you need cheering up.
I put 3 Thyme plants in a pot and they grew so well! I don't know if it's because they were in a pot or what but I'm glad they did. Now I want to try growing Woolly Thyme in a pot and see if I have success.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! Hope you had a wonderful day! I love your herb garden. I am thinking of planting mine in pots next year. I want some lavender and rosemary to grow. I have been trying for 5 or more years to get grow with no luck
ReplyDeleteLove you bunches!
Love the look of thyme in the cracks of rock paths, but don't know how well it grows. I planted a rosemary plant in each of my planting pots and they all took off. We love to smell them at night when we sit on the patio. Also, I read online that if you plant mint it will keep away critters. I planted one in one of the pots but don't think it did real well...maybe I'll try again next year. Our grass is already going dormant because our weather has been so cool this September. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's OK to be in mourning for your little goat. Your loss makes me sad too.
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that your wild bunny is still around.
Happy Birthday Henny! I'm just sorry it is not under better circumstances. I'm so sorry about Asa. It is difficult when we lose a close pet.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are seeing the little bunny return each evening. Looks like that little rabbit has found the best of both worlds!
Take care Henny. Sending warm hugs.
First, Happy Birthday! And so sorry for the loss. It's always the hard part of raising animals. The herbs look great. I think I cut too much of my sage last fall (to gift at Christmas) and it's struggling this year to thrive. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and hopefully there won't be a problem getting your new drivers license. Such a shame when we lose a much loved pet, it takes some getting over. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the loss of your sweet goat! :-( They are such dear and lovely creatures! xx oo
ReplyDelete(We just lost our darling doggie Pixie and I am so very lost without her and can not get used to it)!!
sending warmth and love xx oo
perhaps it's not the right thyme
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, Henny. We take care of them as family members and it breaks our heart to see them go. I feel the pain you feel today. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you manage to celebrate your birthday. I will lift my tea-cup in your honor today. :) xo
ReplyDeleteOh Henny, I am so sorry about Asa. Isn't it the hardest thing to see a beloved pet, pass. I will pray for peace and comfort for you.
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
So sorry about Asa :-(
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, my sweet sweet friend... I am sorry about the passing of your Asa, but very happy Lil Wild Bunny comes back, he knows who his family is! Many blessings to you and you are going ace the driving test, never fear. Little herb garden looks pretty good to me; the only thing I can get to grow is rosemary and when it is a dry year, lemon balm will grow in the sunny areas. However, my neighbor has a field full of peppermint which started as 1 or 2 plants and I have a backyard full of nettles that started with one little plant. So, don't give up.. Wishing comfort to you, Hugs on your birthday, Terry
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Birthday dear lady, I hope you have a lovely day !
ReplyDeletePoor little Asa, I'm so sorry she wasn't able to recover from her illness, she was a sweetie :)
I love your little herb garden, mine is in a wheelbarrow, just enough for a kitchen garden, and so convenient.
Have a lovely birthday Henny !
Hugs,
~Jo

Hello Sweet Mel, I'm so happy that your eyes are getting better . . . that is a blessing for sure and certain. I'm sorry to hear about your sweet little goats . . . I know that their strings were ties to your heart; you are such a sweet friend to all of your animals. I'm sorry that I missed your last post, but I enjoyed reading it today and hearing about your adventures with the baby squirrels. It sounds like you may have met a kindred spirit in Hope.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!
Connie :)
Happy Birthday! You might recall that you share the date with my Mother, and she is now 95years old! Both of you have put in many years of old fashioned hard work, and she would envy your little farm if she could visit! I hope you are able to share some happy moments with Poppy, maybe with some ice cream? Sending Love,
ReplyDeletePam
