Just a short visit

Look who wants to say hello! It's Little sweet Rosie.
Actually she was telling me to hurry back with the goat food. Somebody let us run completely out of Rosie's favorite little goat pellets, so I had to run to town.

That got me out of cooking supper tonight too. Poppy gave me a twenty and said bring us a fish plate from Johnny's Barbecue. That was fine with me after a long hot day in the 94 degree heat, having another yard sale.

We did good today, even better than last Saturday. Why, someone stopped by and bought almost all of Poppy's knives and scopes and hunting stuff. That was fun!

Why, it's Smokey on the trailer? He helped us again today.

Under our feet all day! But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Dear friends, here it is almost 10:00 and bed time. Poppy must have dozed off in his chair. Guess I had better get all the animals settled in for the night. Thank you for visiting. Hope to be back tomorrow and catch up.

Love,
Henny

  2. Rosie is so sweet, growing like a little weed !
I was thinking about you, because we've just had a huge storm blow up, out of nowhere, and scary as heck.

  6. Thrilled to hear your sale went well. I managed to get rid of a lot of my stuff too at a car boot sale. Lovely to see Rosie.

  7. I'm glad your sale went so well. I've been collecting some things but in our heat, I think I'll box the stuff up and wait a few months for fall. I'm glad Rosie was such a great help!

  9. We've had our own round of hot weather, and although it's so cool this morning that my bare toes are cold, we have more on the way next week. Nothing like take-out on a hot day!

  11. Did you put out any of your aprons and bonnets at your sale? I'm glad Poppy sold some of his things; it makes the work seem worthwhile. I was scrolling down the page, reading about Poppy's things and I could see some of the picture of the trailer. The tree caught my eye. With the light and shadows on the bark, it looks like there's a face on it with eyes, nose and a mouth. I kept going back up and down the page and I still see it every time. It's like looking at clouds and seeing shapes in them, I guess. Do you see it? I think it's pretty cool and hope you do see it.

    1. Peg, is it the tree in the center, the bright spot? I see a face there! That's neat! Thank you!

    2. The tree I was referring to is the big one on the right, just behind the trailer. There's a light area right at the top that looks like a face to me.

    3. As soon as I looked I saw the face you are talking about. He kind of looks like my doctor. :) The face I see in the bright spot on one of the center trees looks more like a sheep's head or a monkey looking down. Do you see that one?

    4. Yes, I see that one, too. Those big dark spots look like eyes and the longer I look, the more I see it all as a face. I imagine it as a sheep. But, that one on the bigger tree by the trailer just jumped right out at me. I didn't have to look for it. It was right there under the words I was reading. I had scrolled down just enough to see part of that picture and still read the words about Poppy's knives and scopes.

  14. A yard sale in 94 degree heat does not sound like fun but maybe now you're done having them? Or will you have another, I wonder. Stay cool if you can, GM

    1. Poppy wants to have one every Saturday for a while. That's okay with me, but I am really suffering with back pain again. I've probably done too much.
