Thank you so much for the nice comments on my last post. I seriously meant to reply to each one...seems like I did reply to one, but how sorry is that. Don't the days simply fly!
Sure loved reading your thoughts on the long legged tower. Karen you made me laugh, saying you never did like the tower. You've all given me good ideas, so stay turned for some changes. :)
Remember when I talked Poppy into adding those long legs onto the little well-house top...
Well guess what Poppy said just this morning..."LET'S GET THE NEW PANELS FOR THE GREENHOUSE FIRST, THEN WE WILL GO TO LOWES AND YOU CAN PICK OUT A LITTLE BUILDING". That's exactly what he said! my heart skipped a beat.
These wet rainy days make looking after animals, especially sick ones, extra hard...
Heidi seems better, if we can just get the muscles in her front legs strong again. When it's not raining, we bring her outside. I've rubbed her little legs and tried helping her stand and walk. She actually took a few steps on her own, with front legs straight, this morning, which was very encouraging.
But how discouraging is this? We have six straight days of rain in the forecast starting today. There will be a picture of the weather forecast at the bottom of this post.
Last night instead of getting on the computer or sewing, I stretched out on the couch and watched "Mountain Men" with Poppy...
You see, I got up Monday morning with vertigo and nausea. Scrounged around and found a bottle of Dramamine tablets and decided to take one. It helped, but made me sleepy. I began feeling better and by Tuesday felt okay. Yesterday and today though, I have had periods of nausesa and feeling a little dizzy. Not a good feeling!
Thank you reading this mess, if you're still here. Sorry for all different size print and all the times I used the word "little". I'm as bad as mama used to be. :)
Oh my, what glum weather coming. Ours is bitter cold with snow after snow. can't wait for February to exit this year.

I hope you get to feeling better soon dear friend. It's always worrying, especially in these times. Just before Christmas I woke up with the same symptoms, I made my way to the bathroom but couldn't focus, and my speech was slurry, I'm convinced I suffered a minor stroke.

Ugh! Hope you feel better soon - also, might try taking some zinc (helps w/ sinuses which are often part of the vertigo problem) You don't have to, but I didn't know that until someone told me so. . .

Oh, my goodness I do hope you get to feeling better soon, soon, soon. It's good to have cats close by to keep you feeling warm and appreciated. Your news about a potting shed is so exciting. I can't wait to see it! It sounds as though Heidi is on the mend. Stay inside out of all that coming rain as much as you can.
ReplyDeleteCloudy here for the next 10 days or so. So very Februaryish! Snow showers off and on. Very cold weather coming in with lows Sunday and Monday of 7.
It's going to be Brrrrzo (a perfect compound of Brrr and zero) a word one of my great nephews coined when he was little.
Oh Victoria, that is cold...or should I say Brrrzo! We're sick of rain but at least it stays above freezing...most of the time. Got your email. Thanks Victoria.
DeleteI'm sorry about the vertigo. I had a bout of it last year. I was in the hospital for four days. It was just horrible. I wonder if you had the same kind? They thought a teeny tiny "rock" moved in my ear. Unbelievably, to me, there were exercises to try to get it to roll somewhere else. I hope yours does not come back, ever. How nice to have the pets with you, and the little building you are going to get is exciting! Wish I could send you some desert sunshine, for you and for Heidi.

I guess Poppy must be giving you a Valentine gift in that little building to get to pick out, huh? How fun for you! How did Dumperoo get his name? You may have told us once, but I forget. Rest up and get well Henny. Spring is coming some day, you know! I see you're getting sun on Wednesday. That's about the time we finally climb out of this 10 day below zero cold snap we've been stuck in.
ReplyDeleteHey Diane, thank you. I hadn't thought about it being a Valentine gift. I imagine it will be months! before we make that trip to Lowes since the little greenhouse needs new panels. I'm going to keep reminding him though. Oh, Dumperoo's real name is Dumpster Kimball. Poppy found him at the dumpster site where we carry our trash. He was just a kitten wandering around meowing. Poppy came home and told me about him. I said, we've got to go back and get him...so we did. Mostly we call him Woo Woo. What a name. :)

About the dizziness you had....if you google BPPV you'll find out about something that you might have experienced. I've had bouts of it for many years...most last a day or two at the most. Funny thing is that often when I get it one of my sons will also get it. The first time he had it he was at work and it freaked him out so badly he called an ambulance. (At the hospital they told him right away it was this BPPV and sent him home).
I had vertigo really badly after a car accident so you have all my sympathy. I think animals know instinctively when something is wrong and being near you is their way of being comforting. Hope you feel better soon :) xx
ReplyDeleteOh Henny, I'm so sorry to read that you're feeling under the weather. Isn't it strange how our animals seem to know this? They really are amazing and loving. Sweet Heidi does look better. I hope her legs regain some strength. Poor little girl.

It seems like no one is having really nice weather except my dear brother in law in Florida. He likes to call and rub it in. Today he called and said that it was 81F there and beautiful blue skies. We told him it was 11F here and snow on the way! We're staying warm so far in the RV and tonight is supposed to be the worst of it with a gradual warm up on the way and over 30 by next weekend! Hallelujah!
I'll be praying for you my dear friend. Get lots of rest and feel better soon.

Strange about cats and dogs, they always know
if an owner is poorly..when l felt a little unwell,
and go off to bed, pussy~cat George always came
up with me, a settled down next to me..! They seem
to know!

You are 6'3"!! That is tall. Wish I were a little taller than 5'3". Early this morning I found Heidi standing on all four feet. What a good surprise that was!

ReplyDeleteHenny, I sure hope you are feeling better. Neither of those 2 things are good, and especially not together. Stay hydrated. You are having a heat wave where you live. We are not breaking the 20's here, it's gray and cold. The spring will be welcome, and will bring color and scent to this drabness, which has long lost is's luster.

ReplyDeleteHi Henny! Hope you are feeling better. I have been having a bit of dizziness and odd feelings lately too. Think it may be my bp. Seems to occur in the evenings and lasts through the night. Usually feel better as the day goes on. I'm not surprised your animals stayed by your side. They seem to know, don't they? We are in the 20's here with the possibility of single digits and snow. Staying close to home and the fireplace these days.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny that you mentioned you and your sister had episodes of vertigo. One other blog friend of mine was writing about it and last Saturday I woke up with vertigo that lasted several hours! Must be something in the air! Have a wonderful weekend!

All of your animals are so precious and lucky to have yall to love and look after them. This Winter has been dreary it seems here in NC. Too bad we couldn't at least get a pretty snow one day to view, since its no fun to be outside right now. Can't wait to hear about your new building and see what you do with it. Exciting. It has been awful cold here. We had -30 degrees this morning. And our furnace is acting wonky. We have called in for help from our local heating and cooling guys.
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly...as you know Roger has been being dizzy. Still on a quest to find a solution. For one thing, the doctor think he has wax build up in the one ear, and she cannot flush it out. We were to go to the ENT today, but all the snow changed those plans. I have rescheduled for mid March...hopefully this will be past.
ReplyDeleteAlso, our dr is sending him to physical therapy where they will do an adjustment for the crystals in the ear. He had that done once not too long after the stroke and it helped.
Maybe when the sun comes out and stays out more than it is hidden...it might make Heidi feel better. I know it will me!...LOL
I'm still stuck in Mississippi, but Adam, back home, says the same as you -- rain, rain, rain!!! He's sinking into the mud every time he goes to take care of the chickens, poor fella! I hope you are feeling better! Nausea is just awful.
