Mostly weather

Henny Penny Lane...looking a little different with less trees and more sky...

Dear friends,

I'm hoping you are still my dear friends.

Tell me, do you ever feel like you've let your life get completely out of whack?

At 2:30 this morning I was lying awake planning my day...worrying about all the crap that needs to be checked off my "to do" list, and all the junk foods that I will not eat, and how to get through the predicted storms the weather people have warned us about for days now...today is that day!!   😟

Anyhow, we are still pretty amazed at this  wide open space where the trees once stood...

Skies are not so bright today. In fact, it was pouring rain at 4:15 this morning.

Such strange weather! We were walking Eli and Weetie this cold frosty morning two or three days ago...

today it's warm and raining again.

Poppy's glove makes a good toy...

a little too big for me, says Weetie...

Has the weather been strange this winter where you are?

and this was Monday morning, looking out the living room window...
Red sky in the morning, Sailor take warning? Is that how it goes?

Sure appreciate your visiting. Appreciate the new followers too. Thank you! Hope to be back here soon.

Love,
Henny

Hey, I've made a late resolution..."to do better at posting and visiting". Just got to!

  3. Happy February dear Henny ~ here in s.e. FL it is partly cloudy and windy! Winds are supposed to increase then lessen by 10 this evening. My plan is to go outside and do more work while we are having cooler weather. I can only do a couple of hours at a time, then my body tells me it's time to quit. Love, hugs and prayer for you and yours ~ FlowerLady

  4. Henny, we were to have 6 inches of snow today and woke up to 1/2 inch of ice. We have one
ice storm after another, and lots of heavy rain. All of this is not Northern Ohio weather!
It has always been snow only. The world is changing.
Love seeing the walk of your family! What is that pole in the bare treeless field? Looks
    like flag pole.

  5. Let's hope all the severe weather has come and gone now, we were under the dreaded tornado warning sirens last night, it's always such a worry.
Eli is the cleanest dog I have ever seen, does he ever roll in the mud ?
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

  6. Great pix of Eli. You must be in the February funk :-) End of winter, we've supposedly relaxed and now feel like we should be "doing something." Enjoy whatever today day brings.

  7. Good morning Henny! I think that big open area would make me sad. Our weather has been full of ups and downs too. Yesterday we had 6 inchs of snow, today is supposed to be 40. I know it's only February but I'm so very ready for spring this year.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. It has been pretty un-Winter like around here in Michigan so far, which I don't mind at all! Just got to get through this most boring month of the year!

  9. It’s blowing a gale down here already! I did my walk at noon and it was tough walking against the wind. Evening events have been cancelled. Wow, beau sky!

  10. Upstate south Carolina had a tornado this morning. We got some annoyance from a flash flood but we were more fortunate than most.

  11. Where have the forests gone, ask him!

  12. Hi Henny! Yes, I often feel like I've let my life get away from me! I think my "get up and go" has "got up and left"! I spend so much time thinking about all the things I need to do but so little time actually doing any of them. I think when I see life go by so quickly I kind of freeze up and that is bad.

Our winter weather has not been what I expected but I am glad for that. I kept thinking we were going to have a bad winter but it has been fairly steady. We have had a lot of snows but most were just in the 2-4 inch range which is not bad. We've only had to get our snow blower out a couple of times.

I know it must be difficult for you and Poppy to get used to all those trees being gone. It sure does open things up but at least, thank goodness, you still have lots of trees on your property. I just love the way your cabin and everything looks from across the lake - just beautiful!

Eli and Weetie sure look cute! Give all your sweet critters my love & you too of course!

  13. Crazy weather ... yes, ma'am!! The rain coming our way, and the wind -- yikes! Well, I guess we'd better get ready for hurricane season here in a few months anyway, haha. It's been a very mild winter. My Japanese magnolia is already blooming.

  14. We've had crazy up and down weather this winter. Supposed to have ice last night and it never even rained and stayed in the upper 30's!

Love your red window toppers in your living room. I have similar ones but blue!

Eli is always so fluffy and clean looking!!

  15. Our snow is just about gone now. Rain has been pouring down on it making a big mess.
I like the view out your window and I especially like that pretty flounce which no doubt you sewed!!
It takes time to do a post, doesn't it. I'm always glad when I see that you've posted!!

  16. I, too, live in NC..and agree it is crazy weather. I also am eating my way through the Winter drearies.. Hopefully, things will look up soon. Yall keep your babies so nice and clean. I hate waking in middle of night and getting things on my mind. I am now retired but it used to be more horrible when I knew I had to awaken early am for work. Lets hope Spring will come early as predicted. :0) ..

  17. We are known for rain here in Seattle, but not this much! I just turned on the 5:00 local news and I'm watching all of the flood reports. Some people living near rivers in outlying areas are needing to be rescued. It was one of the wettest Januarys on record and February has started out the same way.

  18. You are not alone with going out of whack! I seem to do it on a fairly regular basis, but life goes on and I come right again. I must say I loved the little curtain above your living room window, it is very pretty.

  19. I was wondering if I'd see any photos of all this rain. I've got some in my camera and am getting ready to get a post up in a day or two. Crazy weather!

  20. We learned "red sky in morning, sailor's warning, red sky at night, sailor's delight." The pond and trees look nice in your picture. I hope tey will quickly get to work and replant the trees. Sunlight has been at a premium here in MN too. Phil

  21. Acreages and yards are very nice but they take a lot of work. For those who like yard work it's great. Obviously you live for your yard.

  22. Hi Henny- Whilst your in the grip of Winter -we're experiencing some greatly needed Summer Rain- it has been pouring down these past three days and hoping that most of the catchment areas are receiving it. Hoping also that it is the end of the state wide drought. Sure is different there with the Pine Plantation just about gone. Best Wishes. KEV.

  23. That is a beautiful coral sky seen through your window. What direction is all that new blank treeless space from you? If it gave you a wonderful dawn or sunset it might just be worth it. There are so many big trees around here as well as houses etc that the view of either of those happenings are hard to come by. Much better in the winter when the leaves are all gone and the trees make lovely black patterns against the sky.

  24. The view out your window is lovely, but wow, what a difference after all of those trees were cleared. It must be shocking every time you see it. I love the photos of the dogs! Oh heck, I can't give up my junk food...and I don't even try anymore. Though my version of "junk" is all homemade goodies so I can justify eating it! :) It's hard to keep up with blogging sometimes. I'm in the same boat lately. I have the art classes, the house hunting and just taking care of the pets and the household. It's a lot to do! I just try to take one or two mornings a week to catch up with people, at least to read what they've been up to!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, I'm sorry to hear your worrying is keeping you up at night. What I feel lately is that my life is slipping by and I am just flushing it down the toilet. Yay! It is weird seeing that view when I know a forest is missing. Is it taking you a while to adjust? Weather in Canada's national capital is thick with snow today and rather nippy. But we had several days of temperatures that were too mild for my liking. When it's winter, it ought to be winter; and when it's spring it can be warm... But as if I control these things. So long as everyone is safe and can get through the up and down climate, I shouldn't complain. Glad to hear from Kev in Australia that they are getting rain-- that part of our planet has had it bad. Hoping you get your much needed rest, Melba! Blessings to you and your family!

  26. You are very productive, Henny. I would say you need a day or two off. But, this is coming from someone who doesn't do "to do" lists. LOL. Take care, dear heart.

  27. My goodness it is much more open behind your home, should be good for gardens and flowers but might be warmer for you! Eli looks so fuzzy and clean!

  28. Of course we're still friends. We all have times when we're on line or off line more. We all have much to do and never get it all done.
    Hugs to you,

  29. We too are preparing for a storm heading our way. It seems to be a constant this year, one storm after the other.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think it would take me a good while to get used to the bare field instead of trees! I hope you don't get bad storms...it seems like we have not had winter here at all, just rain, rain, rain. I feel like we live in Washington instead of Arkansas.
