It did snow!!!

Friends, thank you for the comments on yesterday's post...I did reply to those who don't have blogs.

Now I know you folks who have lived with snow since sometime last fall, have no desire to look at snow pictures but...

these are some pretty serious snow pictures. :)
especially for this area of North Carolina... and how about this Carolina blue sky!
usually a winter storm here means ice on the trees and power lines...
what we had here were beautiful soft white snow blossoms covering the trees...
Then very early this morning, before any of the neighbors were even up, Poppy, Eli, Weetie, Smokey, and I ventured out...
My gosh! No wonder the power went out at the edge of dark last night and was out until 3:43 this morning. I know the exact time it came on because was lying awake listening to the generator run.
We started on our usual walk up to the highway. Eli was in heaven...

and that  black dot you see lagging behind is Smokey...
"Come on Smoke". This is where I picked him up and carried in my arms for a ways, warming his little feet.

Snowfall across the new cut over...

and cutest of all...
oh wait, here it is...
Smokey! and I feel terrible that not one picture shows our little Weetie.

"Miss Independent", our little Weetie. In and out every path and trail along the way. We always make sure us still with us though.

Hope you will forgive me for posting this many snow pictures. Believe me, I want spring!!! Give me warm weather over cold any time!!!

Thank you for putting up with all this,

Love,
Henny

I promise, no more! :)

  1. It all looks so beautiful dear Henny Penny - just like a winter wonderland. I wish I could send you some pics of it here - very brown & crisp & dried out. Lots of dead things in my poor old garden.

  3. GORGEOUS! Snow is beautiful clinging to trees and bushes, especially with that brilliant blue sky. Eli is so white that he seems to disappear - he's snow white!

Fluffy snowflakes are the best, Eli and Smokey having a grand old time :)
What I notice mostly is the silence....so quiet.

  5. I love the snow pictures. We have had no snow at all this year. Not even a little flurry so I am happy to see your snow.

  6. It is beautiful and I suppose exciting to you all who don't get snow regularly, but being an Michigan girl I am over it! Also, thankful that we had a mild winter as winters go! No polar vortex this time!

  9. The trees are pretty. I always think the prettiest snows are gone the very next day. LOL. I am not crazy for snow. I bet your pets were in shock, although dogs seem to love romping in it. Saty warm young lady, xoxo, Blessings, Susie

  10. Oh Henny! I just knew your home and land would be so beautiful in the snow and it sure is really beautiful!!! The trees, everything is gorgeous. And that blue sky against the snow! I bet Eli did love it, but poor Smokey - he looks so cold. I know cats are stubborn though and he probably loved it too. Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures!

  11. Well, as much as I don't care for winter those are gorgeous pictures. Looks like fairy land to me! When we have snow like that we have cloudy gray skies--the blue behind the snow is beautiful. xo Diana

  12. As much as I detest snow and by this time in February I am always absolutely over it, I have to admit your photos are gorgeous. That blue sky is amazing. Eli looks like he's having a wonderful time but I'm surprised Smokey even ventured out into it. Our cats would NEVER get their paws into snow! Enjoy it while you have it and I'm really glad your power came back on.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  16. Beautiful pictures of your snow day. So pretty with the blue skies. Here in the Charlotte area we had a few hours of flurries, but nothing stuck around. It was pretty and peaceful while it lasted. It's always worth documenting with photos as it happens so rarely in these parts.

  22. Oh those are beautiful snow pictures. Those are the best kind of snows, wet ones that coat every little twig and make the trees and bushes look gorgeous. When the sun shines on them they look just magical.

I can imagine how much Eli enjoys the cold weather. He is just made for it with all that hair and blends in wonderfully.

  25. The snow is very pretty, regardless of what it did to the power lines. We (of course) have quite a bit here in Ontario where we live. We had a little grey cat named Nelly who used to follow us on walks as well. :) -Jenn

He thoroughly blended with the snow background. Smokey was the perfect poser in all the photos. Loads of love to both of them and happy blogging Henny!!
