More yard pictures...imagine that! But you know what? I just have to show somebody!
I was thinking today how no one ever comes to visit in the springtime when the trees are in bloom and the ground is covered in violets, and Ajuga, and blue bells. Nope, most of our company comes to visit around Thanksgiving or Christmas when the yard is covered in brown wet leaves and the trees are bare and cold.
So, thank you for looking in again.
I'll admit the yard is a little snaky looking, as mama used to say, but oh wow! it's spring at last and I'm not ready to mow it all under just yet.
Right now, even the grass and weeds are pretty! I'll take it all!
and here's that snowball bush, again...
with a bumble bee hovering overhead?
The guineas saw something interesting up there too!
and in spite of the strange weather we've had for the last three months, the azaleas have really come out.
Lately, Bickett has had a bad case of matted hair and dandruff on his back. Dr. Davis said mostly it comes from his being overweight which makes it hard for him to groom himself properly. He weighs fifteen and a half pounds. So, Mr. Bee needs to lose three pounds. :)
He has done nothing but sleep today. Maybe by tomorrow he will feel better.
Oh my goodness, I'm out of time and I had more to talk about. Hopefully, there will be tomorrow.
Love,
Henny
Oh it is beautiful!! My snowball bush only has small green flower balls right now but it is loaded. I will have to take pictures of it when it blooms out. Hope you and Poppy are doing well. Love you both.
ReplyDeleteAwesome colorful and large blooms. Yes, it really looks like spring.
ReplyDeleteI've mowed my grass thrice already and yet the Ac remains off
ReplyDeleteJust about any place is prettiest in the spring! Your blooms are lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is so pretty!! I think Spring has finally come to your area and hopefully we'll have more days like today ( sunny and quite Spring-ish!) Your Azaleas are gorgeous....I wonder why we didn't plant any way back when. Now there's no empty spaces left.
ReplyDeletePoor Bickett. I hope he feels better soon.
Your yard is beautiful. The azaleas are so lush. I love pink dogwoods and was so happy there was one in the yard here when we bought the house, but it died last fall. White ones on either side are just fine. I'm so disappointed that the pink one died. Poor Bickett. I hope his back feels better without the matted hair. He needs to lose about 20% of his body weight. I was in the same boat and am still working on it; it's no fun!
ReplyDeleteOh it looks so green and lush, beautiful! Poor Bickett! I didn't realize he was such a big cat, he weighs more than Bella did! Good luck with the weight loss, it will be hard, especially if you leave dry cat food out all the time like most of us do (did). Harder for you because you have other cats. Good luck, I hope you are successful.
ReplyDeleteLovely spring photos, indeed. I really need to get myself a snowball bush. They are beautiful. Our cat, who was overweight, lived to be 18 years old. And we had stopped taking her to the vet when she was a couple years old. She would became completely wild at the vet's office so we gave up taking her.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tour of your garden and a lovely season. The snowball bush was a delight. Hopefully Bickett will feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWow, looks so lovely, snakey and all!! Here in upstate NY it's more snow today, everything at a standstill. No leaves out and 40's-which is a step in the right direction I suppose! Enjoy your day Henny!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all of the spring beauty that is surrounding you right now. That snowball tree is amazing as are your azaleas.
ReplyDeleteHope Bickett feels back to normal soon.
Happy Spring ~ FlowerLady
Oh my, I can just imagine how much fun putting a cat on a diet might be. All the whining and injured looks that you will have to endure. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYour yard, snakey or not, looks wonderful and delightfully springy.
He's not fat...he's just big-boned. My cat weighs almost 20lbs., meaty...not fat at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jelly of your garden...we have snow and no sign of vegetation. I will live vicariously through you for now until the warm weather hits us. Sharon/Toronto
I love all the pretty pictures. We got about 8" of snow yesterday! It was beautiful this morning with the sunshine on the snow but we're all ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteOh my spring has sprung in your neck of the woods how wonderful . Our spring temps and weather will finally begin as of tomorrow and from now on they said WOOHOO ! Our old cat Harley has the same thing with her skin and fur but she isn't over weight according to our vet and our vet said it is because she is a full time indoor cat and with the indoor air and dry heat it is what causes the dandruff and the matte's in her fur is due to she lays about all the time and is inactive and I brush her once a week and add a special pet moisturizer to her fur and skin after and she even gets fish oil added to her wet food . Some cats skin and fur are like that our vet said it comes from more genetics then anything . Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !
ReplyDeleteOh Henny...your yard is so pretty! You are so far ahead of us here in central NC. I don't blame you for not wanting to mow the grass yet...it took so long getting here. Now, that is one way to get your kitty groomed...I have a dachshund that needs a sedative to get her nails trimmed...she won't let me touch them!
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks so beautiful! We are still waiting for spring here but it has to come soon. You have so many lovely flowers all over the place. Give Bickett my love - poor guy. I hope he feels better soon. We have one cat that needs to lose weight and one that needs to gain weight. It is really hard to get a cat to lose weight.
ReplyDeleteOh your yard looks wonderful. All those blooms and so much green, it sure looks nice and springy.
ReplyDeleteYour property looks so lovely in spring, Henny! We had more snow today....sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love your snakey yard! Anything, so long as it's springlike, please! I love the violets in the grass and that snowball is just wonderful. Poor Bickett...
ReplyDeleteIf I lived closer, you would have to run my off, in the Springtime! Your yard is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
Wow Henny, your beautiful spring pictures made my day! I love all the flowers and green grass and flowering trees and bushes. Lucky you. Our snow mountains are slowly starting to melt...but it's going to take awhile, so I'll enjoy your flowers in the meantime! Poor kitty....hope he's feeling better very soon!
ReplyDeleteThe snowball plant is wonderful Henny. Poor kitty...guess we all could lose a few pounds.
ReplyDeleteI feel for Kitty. I'm trying to lose a few pounds and it's hard! I LOVE all of the shrubs and trees that are in bloom. We've been robbed of spring this year! (crying) We even had snow yesterday morning. Any blooms will have been frozen by now. I LOVE snowball bushes. We have a few. I'm hoping the lilacs survive this crazy weather. Thanks for sharing your blooms!
ReplyDeleteCindy
Poor Mr B. No fun to be so portly you can't wash properly. No fun to try to lose weight either! Your yard is just gorgeous. Thanks for the tour.
ReplyDeleteYour yard is so lovely. I enjoyed every picture and it would be hard to choose a favorite. Give your sweet kitty an extra hug from me. Oh, how I love cats! Our yard is looking its best right now, but you wait, we won't have a single visitor til the dead of winter! lol lol
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely azaleas. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteThe snowball bush is so pretty, Henny. My mother-in-law had many on her property years ago and I loved them. I guess if I ever get down your way I best visit in the spring. :)That looks like a robin in your bird-bath. We have many here now and they are hungry. Poor Bic. I always feel so bad for those that are afraid of the vet. It makes it so hard for them.I hope that will be it for awhile now. He can just skype his weight-loss numbers to the doc.;-) Hugs to all and a special one for Smokey. xo
ReplyDeleteYour Azaleas are lovely and that snowball bush is stunning! Your yard looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteLook at your springtime! That snowball bush is enormous, and the azaleas are really popping right now. You have pretty dogwoods too. We have some pretty bushes/trees, and them some we don't have at all: azaleas, dogwoods, magnolias. Your yard is looking very visit-worthy :) I do hope Bickett is feeling better soon. Nasty ol' vet visit!
