Big old Fraidy Cat!

Oh my dear goodness friends, the MRI is over and done with and it was not bad at all. I can't tell you though how much I appreciate your encouraging comments and how you were actually in my thoughts while I was there. Thank you!

This Wake Radiology was in a beautiful new building complex. The MRI scanner was open end, like many of you suggested, and not much longer than I am tall.  The nurse, or technician, was very nice and patient and helpful. She was soft spoken and kind and smiled, and doesn't that just mean everything! She put a warm blanket over me, a soft cloth over my eyes, and gave me earphones with good music playing...and just enough Valium running through my veins to relax me.

So, the big "Fraidy Cat" survived!

Yesterday, when we parked at Wake Radiology, I said to Shelby, let me take your picture for my blog. Shelby said, no, lets take a selfie together. So, four times we tried and four times we laughed. In all four pictures my mouth is open and I look like a little old lady in pain. So, forget that! Here is our together picture, taken a couple of years ago at Shelby's daughter's wedding. Shelby has always been photogenic but not me!

My plan for today's post was to thank you dear friends and then do a little "Shelby" post, kind of a "thank you" for all the running around she has done for me lately. Remember the post I did on "Shelby's Kitchen"?

Shelby is one of the kindest, most generous souls you will ever meet. I've heard her husband Jimmy say, "as long as Shelby is doing something for somebody, she is happy", and that is so true. She volunteers before you ever have time to ask a favor of her.

This is Shelby, taken one day in Raleigh. Lynn, Andee, and I were having lunch there and at the last minute decided to call Shelby to join us...Did she say "no, I'm busy". Absolutely not. She turned the burners off on the stove and drove to Raleigh. It was a fun day!

It was Shelby who told me about the girls at the market who had new baby goats for sale and if I wanted one, she would drive me to Roxboro to meet them and buy a baby goat. That's how little Rosie came into my life.

Guess I had better get away from this computer. This big cheap thrift store computer chair we use here is enough to cause back problems.

Thank you dear friends.

Love,
Henny

  3. Whew, so happy to hear that your MRI experience was not scary after all. I bet having Shelby along made a big difference, as well as the nice nurse, and the Valium! Let's hope for a good reading, and an easy road to healing. You might be on to something with that office chair, remember to sit carefully. Aren't there just too many things to remember these days?!

  17. What relief you must be feeling now that the MRI is over. So nice that there was a friendly cheery nurse. That sure does make a big difference. I'll even avoid any cashiers at the grocery store if I think they look grumpy. Who needs that?
    Your sister is a treasure!!

  25. Sometimes you can tell just by looking at a person that they're really nice. Shelby has that look. I'm fortunate to have a sister, too, who would do anything I need her to do and when we moved back home after my husband retired, we bought a house just a mile and a half from her and her husband. I get to see her almost every day. I glad Shelby was there with you as you faced something fearful to you. I hope you get a good prognosis.
