Here's to a happy post!

I'm tired of worrying about the trees being cut, and the muddy road out front. So...

It's rare to go in a thrift store looking for a specific item and actually find it...
but I did. This little candle light to go under the tree.

and last year found the Santa candle lamp at a thrift store. Don't know why I like them??

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a quick note about the tree cutting across the road. We did find out that the land owners are not planning to sell the property for a housing development or a trailer park.  Thank goodness!

Cutting timber around here for the most part is a money thing. Re-seed in pines and in thirty years you can cut again!

Anyhow, look who's feeling important this morning...
he like looking down on Smokey...and have you ever seen such toenails on a kitty cat! Dr. Davis commented on Dumper's funny toes several years ago.

Been a while since you've seen the bunnies...
This is Penny. All four condos have been filled with warm soft hay for the winter. Sure looks comfortable and cozy with the sun shining in.

and this is "Chief, Son of Bun". I'll show you Fiona and BunBun later as they would not come out for a picture.

and, of all things, surprise, surprise, surprise...
 two new bunny rabbits.

When the old man up the road offered them to me, Poppy said "absolutely not"!!  But after worrying about these bunnies for three days, he agreed that I probably needed to give them a home, at least temporarily.  We'll see. :(

One more picture and I'll go...

Even after a couple more inches of rain and lots of muddy water running into the pond, the reflection yesterday morning was amazing.

Hope to be back soon.

Love,
Henny

  2. Hooray! Why am cheering..! God knows! :).
I did'nt comment on the last post..because of the
tree felling! :(. Upset me that did..and the horrid
yellow digger thing on the video..watch about 2seconds
of it..off it went..! LEAVE THE TREES ALONE...! πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Ah! Bunny rabbits..l used to keep them as a boy....
    Netherland Dwarfs..Quite small..Weighing 1–2 pounds,
l used to breed and show them..
Without looking, l think those of yours Henny are
a breed called New Zealand..The New Zealand are a
breed of rabbit, which despite the name, is American
in origin. The breed originated in California, possibly
from rabbits imported from New Zealand. New Zealand
rabbits are available in five colors recognized by the
American Rabbit Breeders' Association...white, red, black,
blue, and broken...they used to breed them as an eating rabbit,
the meat was pink in colour..and the meat was awful...! :(.
But..their a lovely rabbit, and get quite tame..! :).

    And..Dumpers toenails...Geeeese! They are long..perhaps
you should paint them for Christmas..HeHe! Santa Paws..!
And..last but by no means least..of ALL the photos on
ALL your posts Henny..my favourite is the pond/lake...
I don't know why..? But! I just love it..! :O).
(watching to many Swamp Murders)..! :o).

    1. Willie, I had a feeling you didn't comment because of the trees and I don't blame you. It's sad to see trees cut down, and the Holly trees and Cedar trees they don't use are crushed. You're right about the white bunnies...they are meat rabbits. They sure seem happy to be in a big cage with lots of hay and food. Dumper's toenails fall out. I'm always finding them on the floor, but his nails grow back.

It's a Christmas miracle. What a relief! We have a lot of building projects around here. I just want to stretch the farmland and push everyone away! I suppose it's good to be in a growing area, but,..it's not. πŸ˜‚

  5. Sweet candle. And oh my the reflection is beautiful with that sunshine! Can I ask what kind of bunny Cheif is? I have a bunny but am uncertain of her breed.

  6. Good morning! I am amazed at what you found for Christmas in the thrift stores, they are both darling. I love the bunnies most of all in this post...two new ones, Christmas joy! Have a beautiful day, always a nice post. Terry

  7. Love seeing the rabbits. It has been a while since they sat for a photo shoot. The pond reflection is quite a sight
to see with the clear blue sky and no wind to make ripples. Here it is only 3 inches of snow. And no sunshine.
Hating winter already. So it is wonderful of you to post such warm and sunny shots. Love the Christmas finds for
    you, with the lighted candles.

  8. So glad to read the property owners are not developing the land. That has to be such a huge relief for you. The bunnies are cute and that photo of the reflections in your pond is beautiful. Have a lovely Christmas week/day ~ FlowerLady

  9. Your bunnies all have such a warm, cozy home for the winter and I’m glad there was room in the inn for some little orphans. Thank you for taking them in. I love your little Christmas lamps, especially the Victorian Santa.

  10. I love your Christmas candles and all your pretty decorations! I know the game Dumperoo is playing - king of the hill - all cats want to be in the highest spot especially over other cats! The new bunnies are so cute. Yo really do have a bunny condo!

  11. They've been logging behind my house for the past year or so also....it's soooo noisy, drives me mad, and I'm worried when I have the dogs out because they go crazy barking at the big tractors...I worry they will run after them.

  12. I like your Santa lights and so nice to see the bunnies again.
Glad that they will be growing the trees there once again.

  13. I agree. It's rare to go into the thrift store and find just what you were looking for. I've quit going
( temporarily) because I need to get rid of more clutter before I add any.
I love the candles you found. And it's so nice to see your bunnies. I often think of them as I'm caring for little Cinnamon Bun ( who is half the size of Penny and Chief, Son of Bun. She's doing well though I'm not allowed to get a friend for her. ( Unless someone offered me one, which won't happen I'm sure).

  14. Oh I really like the candles you've found. I scour thrift stores but rarely find exactly what I'm wanting at the time.
I'm so happy to read that there is no development happening across the road. You have such a peaceful spot that would have been awful. That reflection is beautiful. There is something about still water that just calms my soul.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  17. Awww love this post! Me and the farmer was just talking about your bunnies the other day wondering if you still had them. We watched a Christmas movie The Christmas Bunny. Really good movie for family. I went to 2 thrift stores looking for a church to set out for Christmas but I had no luck. I will keep looking. Love you bunches How did your Fruit cake turn out?

  18. Thanks for answering my question about the trees.that does make it better for you. Here in the pacific Northwest we understand that trees are a crop to be harvested.
Watch out. You know what bunnies are notorious for. MORE BUNNIES>

  19. Bunnies! I'm so glad you won't be faced with a housing development. These new houses are huge and ugly and displaced wildlife. But, bunnies!

  20. What a relief! Hopefully the tree cutting noise will end soon. The bunnies are cute, glad to visit with Chief-Son-of-Bun, again. He's still very handsome, isn't he? How I wish to be transported to N.C to check out your thrift stores there. The Santa candle is very nice and I still drool for the church you found last year. But I totally know you can find exactly what you want because it's happened to me, too-- great fun! Blessings, Melba!
Oh!! P.S my sister's pregnant(again!) and her eldest is helping to choose a name for the baby and out of nowhere she came up with "Melbina"-- I think it's adorable.

    1. Hey Pilar. "Melbina". That is a cute name. Much better than Melba. Mama always said Daddy named me after one of his school teachers. I can't imagine! "Chief-Son-of-Bun" is a handsome rabbit and he is very sweet too. None of my bunnies like to be held and I hate that. I want to hold them. Thank you Pilar.

  23. Dear Henny - your bunnies are adorable - I think Poppy is a good man letting you take them on for a bit of time :)! May you have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hugs!

  24. Ooh, how I love seeing you bunnies Henny, they so remind me of my younger days, when I think most all children in England had a pet bunny, or two or three :)
The last one we had was a French Lop and weighed 22lbs !
To say he loved his food, is an understatement.
I'm happy to read, that the tree cutting is not for a housing development, that would be so disruptive to your way of life, I tend to frown on tree-cutting for any reason, other than necessity.
I think your little candles are sweet, and so perfect for those little places that need a little glow :)
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year, to you, Poppy and family, and of course to all the precious fur-babies you grace us with so often.
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

  29. Merry Christmas Henny,
I enjoyed seeing your photos of the bunnies. And those kitty cat nails.. oh my goodness. :-)
Good news that a housing project is not moving in next door. Hope the planting goes well and the trees will grow well.
