Still blogging!

Still a little dull and ragged looking around here, but surely spring will settle in soon.

These up and down temperatures don't do a lot to help the plants. Why yesterday we went from 46 degrees early morning to 76 late afternoon...that little patch of Iris has been frozen and thawed several times since February. Most unusual weather!

This old sweetie pie called us out to the porch...hurry, hurry, he barked, you won't believe who's back...

It's "Wilder"! I know it's Wilder! He remembers me.

Well, it sure does look like Wilder, and seeing how he is out during daylight hours and not afraid of your big bark, I'd say it is Wilder.

Thought I would take a minute to say, yes, I am still blogging.  :)

Poppy went in to work at 6:00 this morning, so I am visiting early and then must get busy. Lots of cleaning today, especially dusting. The pollen looks to be about half an inch thick on everything, and we have company coming for lunch tomorrow.

Can't help but worry about guests with all the cat hair, dog hair, and pollen. I've just washed a big washer load containing all the table cloths, scarves, pillow covers...anything that could be pulled off and washed.

I do appreciate your visit. Better get busy. Hope to be back here real soon.

Love,
Henny

  1. There really does seem to be unusual weather worldwide. Our daughter had to drive through thick snow to get home on Monday, mainland Scotland got quite a bit of snow whilst here on the Island is was sunny although a little cold.

  5. Glad to see Wilder and there's not much to be done about allergies, people just need to understand about pets and pollen.

  6. "Hi Wilder, you little roamer." He must be very happy out in the wild to be gone so long but still has the urge to visit. So darn cute. :) Funny how we live so far apart but we both have dust. lol Dumperoo is ready for company, I'd say. We just got snow overnight. I.am.so.done.

  7. Our weather here has been up and down to with chilly winds, rain , thunderstorms with rain snow mix thankfully any snow that does fall melts on contact now that our land is warm and thawed . We have a few Wilder's here that like to feast on sunflower seeds under our bird feeders and they take no notice of Miggs any more lol ! We get pollen like that in the summer outside my indoor dust is from our pets lol. I don't mind dusting or doing house work , I know I am weird lol ! Lovely photos . Thanks for sharing . Have a good week .

  9. Good morning! That's the best picture of Eli ever! He is so beautiful. I hope that is Wilder, he sure is making himself at home. Henny, our weather here is the same - up and down in extremes. Hang in there, my life is full of dog and cat hair too! Hugs, Terry

  10. I'm sure it is Wilder! Our weather is crazy as all get out! We have a chance of snow/ice on Friday and Saturday! This time of year makes me nuts! I know exactly what you mean about the animal hair and dust. It is a never ending job around here!

    Grace & Peace,
    Pam

  11. Busy, busy, busy girl . . . I think you are the first of my blogging sisters to hang clothes on the line this year. I washed sheets this morning and thought about drying them outside, but it was pretty chilly out so into the dryer they went. I do love sheet dried in the sunshine. Don't work too hard, they are coming to visit you, not your house. Leave some energy for tomorrow :)
    God Bless You,
    Connie :)

  12. How good to hear from you and to see Wilder too! That is a wonderful picture of Eli - I sure wish I could give him a big hug! Henny we still don't have spring here in Missouri. We got two inches of snow and ice on Easter Sunday. Isn't the weather crazy these days!

  14. I suppose I have both pollen and dust from the wood-burning stove covering everything. It really doesn't seem to do much good to wipe it away for it just comes right back. Spring house-cleaning around here won't officially begin until after the stove is shut down for the summer, and by that time who has time to clean house?

Why, of course, the bunny just has to be Wilder. Maybe, just maybe, Wilder is a girl and will have a family this year to nibble away at your tender veggies. I'm sure you would gladly share, wouldn't you? Happy warmer days ahead...Yay!

  15. Pollen can really pile up. Fortunately I don't have to worry about it for a while.

  16. Our cars won't stay clean with all the dust and pollen swirling around here. Glad to see your bunny is back!

Oh Henny, you're so sweet and diligent in your cleaning and dusting! Good for you. I'm sure people are always happy to come to your house for any reason! Wow...Wilder is back. Yes, if the big dog bark doesn't scare him away....he's probably used to it! Hooray! We will see pollen flying off the big evergreen trees in what looks like sheets, once spring is really here. Right now we still have piles of snow as tall as our roofs! It's going to be awhile. Enjoy your company tomorrow.

  18. I'm trying not to sneeze as I read about pollen. It is everywhere here too. While I miss my kitty, I am not missing the cat hair.
It does sound like it can be your little wild bunny. How exciting!

  19. I am so ready for spring to get here and stay also. I have had plants cold and nipped at to. I have not seen my yard bunny lately I hope it still lives in the yard. We have been having a pair of hawks landing in the yard and sitting on vole holes. I hope they catch them all my yard is all dug up. I wish I could be so smart at cleaning as you.

    Love you bunches

  20. I like Connie's comment about how people come to see you, not look at any dust in your house. I keep telling myself that too. I try to have guests in the evening and keep the lights dim so they can't see any dust. Works for me!!

  21. They must be special company, not everyday company:)

  22. It's amazing the amount of dust (never mind hair) that animals add to the household. Oh well, rather have the animals than the less dust! I'm glad your bunny survived the winter. Our black one is still here. I caught him in a net the other day, and held and petted him for a few minutes. He comes close and you can briefly touch him with a finger..... I am seeing some damage in the vegetable garden, so I need to get some fencing up. The things we do.....

  23. It's wonderful Wilder has paid you an Easter visit. It was nice of Eli to point him out to you. We have a black dog and a white cat so we know all about hair around here! And shedding season has just begun ....

  24. Hope your are enjoying your company today. : )
Our weather is back and forth too. No flowers to freeze yet and doesn't look anything like spring here. Still getting snow every couple of days.

  25. Good to see clothes on the line. With all this snow, I will have to wait another week or so until I can make use of the clothesline. Always good to get blankets and quilts washed and fresh on the line.

  26. I need to get busy and write another post too. I am glad that Wilder came back to visit. Animals do cause a lot of work but give a lot of loving and companionship. Love that picture of Eli. Nancy

  27. Fancy Wilder coming back to pay you a visit, he must feel right at home, and remembers your kindness :)
Sweet Eli. he's such a beautiful boy !
Snow flurries returning here tomorrow night, I'm trying to cover everything in sight with the white sheets.....sigh.
Love the wash hanging on the line, so perfect !

  28. Hi Henny,
I have been busy too. Spring has a way of doing that to a person. ;-) I started some seeds. We had company and celebrated my son's 18th birthday.
I am so happy Wilder came for a visit. Good news!!
    Love, Carla

  29. Our weather here in TN has been up and down as far as temps go too! I haven't even tried to do anything with flowers yet. I'll have a few in pots in a month or so. Apt living does limit me to what I can do in that vein. Have a blessed Sunday.

  30. I'm not an enthusiastic housekeeper/cleaner, but it does feel GOOD to get all those fabric covers off of everything, and wash them. Like you, I'm wondering about spring ... WARM spring. Like y'all, we are faithfully outside doing hopeful things toward spring. I agree it's been tough on the plants! Wilder looks lovely, as does your gorgeous doggie. Sigh. He's so handsome. The sheets on your clothesline are hopeful too :)

  31. Wonderful photos. It is the same here. The temps have been up and down all week. Enjoy your company!

  32. It doesn't seem that Spring will ever make it here either! We're supposed to get a tease of warm this weekend, then back to cold.
It's good to see you. Hope you got things ready in time for your guests!
