It's simply pouring

Thank you Linda P. for following my blog. Gosh, and for all of you who are following, that did not get a thank you, I apologize. I know just enough about computers and blogging to keep this one barely going. I appreciate your friendship so much.

As mama used to say, "it is simply pouring"!

and not only is it raining, it is dark and dreary, and very windy.

not much better looking out the the living room window.

We are feeling the effects of Hurricane Matthew right now, and according to the forecast this wind and rain is supposed to continue on through the night. I'm not complaining as this nothing compared to what the folks south of us have been through.

My fear, living here under all the trees, is that one will fall on the house during a storm. Right now the ground is saturated in water...

Dumperoo said I could hide out with him.

and speaking of Dumperoo...there he is under the cutting board.

I see you Dumperoo!

This apple print girl's apron is now in the shop

Friends, I just walked out on the back porch to have a look and believe it or not, heard a tree falling. I got the umbrella and walked down to the bunny lot. A tall dead pine tree had fallen and hit the ground about five feet from the bunnies.

Sorry to have gone on and on. Hope to be back here soon.

Love,
Henny

  1. "Hi Dumperoo." Oh, I just want to kiss that face. :)We had a bit of rain today but nothing like you guys. It's probably from the same source. Please stay safe around the trees. Glad the bunnies are ok.

  4. I'm glad the tree didn't fall on the bunny lot. We're having pretty well the same pouring down rainy day but less wind here. Sure does make a person happy to be warm and safe indoors!

  5. Hope the rain stops soon and the sun comes out and all of you stay out from under any falling trees.

    Take care.

  9. So very thankful the bunnies were not hurt. We had a lot of rain yesterday due to the storm. Today, however, has been gorgeous. I just love these kitty photos. Dumperoo certainly knows how to hide! I have one cat that hides between the bedspread and sheets when it storms.

  10. You can go on and tell us that you're safe. that's important. Big trees are a concern.

  12. I'm glad that tree missed the bunny yard. I saw a weather report about Matthew that showed what the expected rainfall was for N. Carolina. The map even had Henderson on it. You're lucky you're as far north as you are. The southern and eastern parts of the state are going to get swamped. I hope the winds don't get too bad. The rain by itself is bad enough. The map I saw showed that you could get 6-9 inches. Do you have a rain gauge that big? I hope the rain is less or gone tomorrow when you and Eli have to go outside.

  14. Falling trees are what I think about after a lot of rain and wind. I'm so glad your bunnies were spared the tree! I hope the weather wasn't too bad for you. Your little room where Dumperoo is hiding is just adorable and the apron is so pretty. I just love the one you made me and use it all the time! Have a blessed day.

  15. Oh, when the ground is softened with the rain and the winds blow hard, there is the danger of trees falling. I love the rain, but storms are not fun. I'm worried about my oldest brother, he lives in Florida and is not worried at all about weathering the storm, so I worry for him.

  19. Henny...I hope you have weathered this brutal storm without too much damage or flooding. I know all about living in the midst of a storm like this AND also living among so many tall trees...scary stuff! I do like a rainy here and there but needless to say, I was SO happy to see the sun and bright blue sky yesterday. We were without power ALL night and into Sunday morning. Thank goodness for the showers at church! Enjoy the sunshine :)
