A little decorating update

We have sunshine today! Finally got around to cutting some cedar boughs. Picked up a few pine cones too, as Mama used to say, "such as they are".  Not many out there. Look who likes my basket. I should tie on a red bow and sit him on the hearth "as is"...

A touch of cedar helps and since I can't seem to get things right this December, this may be it, with the decorating! Somebody else likes my basket...

I suppose the mantle looks a bit better with the green added and the smell...I love the smell of cut cedar...

And yet another kitty cat has crept in...

Red beads are added to the tree. I loved the suggestion of popcorn. That would be really old fashioned, but then I remembered Eli! Could he resist the popcorn. We haven't found yet anything he won't eat...

Gosh, better get busy! There's lots of leaf raking to be done and as I said earlier, we have sunshine today. I need to be out there in it!

I surely do appreciate your stopping by. I just love you friends out there!

Sincerely,
Henny

  1. I would love for Santa to leave me a little grey beauty in a basket at Christmas. He is so darling. I didn't realize you had 2other cats, Henny. They are all beautiful. I love your mantel and tree. Very festive. Deb

    1. Yes, two others. Bickett and Dumperoo. That's why Poppy didn't want me to keep Smokey. By the way, Smokey has been coming inside lately! :) Yay!

  8. So very cozy and inviting Henny !
Cedar is my very favorite greenery, the smell is deliciously Christmas.
Love those kitties, they really do seem to enjoy the extra decorating, so many hidey places, baskets and boxes sitting around.
Love the shiny beads and ornaments, we used to make cranberry and popcorn garlands, but my daughter was the one who spent hours making them, and now I have to be content with wooden red beads...lol.
    So lovely.

  9. The cedar boughs were the perfect finishing touch. And the tree is beautiful. It doesn't look a bit like a Dr's. office!

  19. I am ogling all the red on your tree - really like it. I'll have to give that some thought for next year.

I'm so behind this year and I know its because of losing Natural at the beginning of the month. Just didn't feel like thinking about anything for about a week. Now I'm slowly picking up speed.

    1. Janet, I've thought about you a lot lately. It's easy to understand your not feeling like decorating. Losing Natural was a hard thing to go through. It takes time.
