Anyhow, I've so much to tell you and show you! Oh, but don't get excited. It's just simple little things that make me happy. :)
Like Fall being here and all the pretty pine straw that fell on my path behind the playhouse...
only leaves here but this reminds me of an old outhouse. :)
and down behind the house...I love the Fall shadows...
Gosh, since this picture was taken, it really does look like Fall. Leaves have covered the brick path.
Anyhow, moving on with some extra special news. Okay, I've been searching everywhere for a spayed female rabbit. A companion for Randall Rabbit.
So, a few days ago I did the usual checking at Orange County Animal Services and there they were...two little female bunnies needing a loving home. I called my daughter Lynn! "Lynn", I asked. "If I brave the traffic on I-85 and drive to your house, will you go with me to adopt two bunnies from Orange County Animal Services"? You see, Lynn lives in Durham, about an hour's drive from me, and Orange County Animal Services is about a fifteen minute drive from Lynn's. "Sure I will Mom". She said...
This is Princess, and here's Princess's mother, Star...
Both Bunnies are living on the back porch for the time being since both had been spayed the day before I adopted them. They needed extra care and be given pain medication for two days. The funny part is, my intentions were to adopt one bunny. "Bring home only one rabbit", Poppy said loud and clear before I left that day. So, while at OC Animal Services and Lynn and I were locked inside the little visiting cell enjoying the bunnies, one of the workers popped her head in and said, "we will make you a deal if you adopt both bunnies", two for the price of one", she said. The bunnies are mother and daughter. Awww, I couldn't adopt one and leave the other. :(
Here's me holding mama rabbit...
Arriving back at Lynn's she asked if I could stay long enough to see her little garden and workshop. Of course I could! Friends, Lynn can take nothing and turn it into something fantastic. If you will, take a look inside Lynn's workshop...
and this last picture reminds me of a page from the "I Spy" books. Can you find Lynn?
To learn more about Lynn, go to "abitofbirdsong . Her junk journals are amazing! A recent picture of my lovely blue-eyed Lynn...
I will end all this madness with Smokey and the dogs! It was sprinkling rain...says Smokey...
not to be outdone, Eli and Ellie teamed up for this shot...
Well, friends, hope we are still friends after putting you through all this. I use way too many words. :) Thank you. I will be catching up with you all. Thanks again.
Love, Henny
Enjoy your new bunnies! Even before I scrolled down to see Lynn's picture, or read what your wrote (Lynn looks great...as young as when she had her blog when homeschooling , which I miss) I just knew that was Lynn's workshop! andrea
ReplyDeleteThank you, Andrea. I miss Lynn's old blog too. It was amazing, like everything she does.
DeleteHey Andrea!! ❤️❤️❤️
DeleteOops! Sent that comment anonymously. It’s me, Lynn, saying hey Andrea! ❤️
DeleteIt's always good to hear from you, Henny. One thing to prompt you to come back faster is to let us know how Randall and the new female bunnies are getting along. Did they have names when you got them? I wanted to check on Lynn and had to do a search for her site. I found that it's on YouTube, not a web site. I'll have to go back and look at it when I finish this. I left it open on my computer.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Peg. I will keep you all posted about the bunnies. Yes, the bunnies were already named. I don't really like their names and could change them. I doubt they know them anyway. Maybe I should ask for suggestions. I think Lynn does have a website. I probably just didn't show it right. She is on Etsy, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook and I don't know what else. :)
DeleteHi Henny...great to see this post. I do love the smell of pine needles, any time of the year. Little Princess and star are so adorable...so furry!! Just makes me want to pull them out of the computer and hold them. I did spy Lynn and I checked out the website. My kind of art for sure!! I will be going back for a visit there. The dogs are so pretty and white!! big hearts to them!! Enjoy this Fall season...It is still 90 here.
ReplyDeleteHey Shug, Gosh! 90 degrees! We had our share of that in June and July. I'm happy to see Fall even though I am a summer person. I'll be around to see your blog. :)
DeleteDear Melba, how nice to see your post! Love your two new bunnies, they are so sweet. Hope Poppy wasn't too mad about you bringing home TWO! Your Lynn is so lovely, and her workshop is amazing too! I can tell she is related to you! Very talented! Hope you're still dancing Melba! Enjoy the Fall...it looks beautiful at your house. Take good care. Love you!
ReplyDeleteHey Diane. I could tell it was you before I looked. Your sweetness. Hope your husband is doing well. Oh, I am still dancing, well, trying to. I am having terrible back and leg pain. Going for an MRI the 28th. Always something. Poppy was okay with the two bunnies once he saw them. He has helped me with their medication. :) Love you!!

It's good to hear from you and see that you are up to your usual beautiful life.
ReplyDeleteHey, Mama! I am so happy I was able to see you this week. And those bunnies couldn’t go to a better home! Your yard is beautiful. Lord willing, I’m coming to see you next week. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing my crazy wild workshop. 😁 You’re the best mama in the whole world!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you! The bunnies are really cute and how could you pass up such a deal!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to see autumn in your area dear Henny Penny, as we are in spring here. Your new bunnies are adorable & Yes I think I would've had to bring both Mum & daughter home too. I wonder what Poppy said? I just love Lynns workspace & can see so much treasure in there! xx
ReplyDeleteAw! Somehow I knew that you couldn't leave there without the mom and daughter rabbits, Henny Penny. Your heart is just so deep and wide! I think, too, that your daughter inherited your same intuitiveness and creativity from you with her displays. God bless you and your family!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Henny. Love seeing pics around your place and so happy to hear that you found friends for Randall Rabbit. I'm sure he will be pleased. Do keep us posted. And loved the pics of Eli and Ellie. Would love to see more pics of Randall too! And it's obvious that Lynn is your daughter... from her pic and her workshop.
ReplyDeleteTook me a minute to find Lynn haha!
ReplyDeleteThe bunnies are adorable! Of course you had to take them both, you couldn't separate them! And I love Lynn's workshop. Looks like she's got her mama's talent.

Henny, I thought you were gone long enough from blogging that you must have been like Alice in wonderland and
ReplyDeletefell down the rabbit hole! Now I see you did, but returned with the rabbits! How cute and hope Poppy was not too
upset about another mouth to feed. I see that Lynn have gotten her crafting skills from you, and also her beautiful
looks. She is an amazing artist. Smokey and Precious are of the same mind. We had (much much needed) rain
earlier this week and Precious sat on her catio under the eave and got extra damp. She had no umbrella like
Smokey and when she sees this, I'll be told what to do next time it rains, lol. So glad to see the photos and the
post. Not ready for Autumn, just cooler and sunny days. Lynn and Precious XX
So appreciative of the update- and the bunnies are beautiful! Lynn certainly inherited your craftiness; have been observing her and her precious family for a long time.Happy Fall to you and Poppy!
