IT'S CHRISTMAS!!

Can you believe it's Christmas Eve!!

I've just pulled a pan of brown sugar chew bread from the oven...

The first bit of baking I've done for Christmas! Hope to get three chocolate pecan pies in the oven next, and make a pan of fudge (wonder why, make a pan of fudge, reminded me of "pick a bale of cotton". Need to be wondering about my mind these days! :)

Just wanted to stop a minute and wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Connie, I just love this little card! It's so special! and the little scrubber is way too pretty to use. Thank you!

Smokey said for me to wish you a Merry Christmas. He was way too tired.

Woo says, "what hair on the bed?

and this! is Peach Jam with Rum! It is delicious! I've eaten some. (maybe that's why I was thinking about picking a bale of cotton earlier). Just kidding. I didn't even taste the rum. Thank you so much Vic!!

Thank you for reading my silly blog. I love you all my blogging friends, and appreciate your friendship.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

pardon the raggedy look, but a pretty Cardinal lit on the roof.

an add-on to my blog after reading five comments...

Willie is right! It's the wonderful comments that really make a blog special. Your comments mean everything to me. Thank you!

  7. I'm curious about that brown sugar chew bread. Never heard of it, but I suspect I'd love it.
My daughter's family and my son's family (I'm new to saying that - they had twins in May!!) will be here soon, but I wanted to stop and wish some of my favorite bloggers a Merry Christmas. So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  8. Merry Christmas! I too see the Cardinal! Right now we have one slamming himself into our window all day long. I tried to put a sticker up there in case he's seeing himself in the glass and wanting to fight, but it does no good. He's been doing it for days... the inside cats are fascinated.

I can't even remember when I began to follow your blog, but I believe it was in 2018 and I wanted to say it is great to stop by and see what's happening with your animals and the sewing you do and your gardening, too. I share many of your posts with my mom who loves your guinea hens and bunnies And goats! Your writing is funny and I always look forward to reading it. Many many blessings to you!

  27. Lets have a poem...
    Coffee With A Cardinal...By..Jeff Gaines...

    Cardinal Oh, Cardinal
    You great scarlet bird.

You hop along my porch rail
But you don't say a word.

    Defiant..So Defiant
    Of nature's camouflage.

There is no way to hide
    Your bright red entourage.

    Orange..Bright Orange.
    Your sharp pointy beak.

Gathers the worms and the seeds
All the meals that you seek.

    Feed..Feed her.
    This mate that you court.

    Such a noble young man
    You dance and cavort.

    Sing..Sing sweet
    You and your friends

I'll love your songs every morning
    'Til winter comes 'round again.

    Babies..Your babies
I'll meet them come next year.

When in the Fall, they'll alight on my porch
    And bring my morning's cheer.

    Cardinal..Oh, Cardinal
I'm so glad you're here, you see.

I knew your parents and now you have come
    Singing just for me....

  31. Henny Penny, If at all possible, would you be willing to share the chew bread recipe? It sounds like an old-fashioned southern recipe that would fit right in up here in the cold north. I like your porch door with the wreath. It says "Welcome, Merry Christmas."
