Snow pictures

About that special picture of Eli...

Does he look rotten or what?

I sent a few snow pictures to Andee and Todd to show them the amount of snow we got here. Seems they got more rain than snow. They have moved back to NC but are in a county further east.

Anyhow, from one of the pictures, Andee zoomed in on Eli and came up with this sweet picture. Andee thinks the caption should be,

"I want to be rotten, but I'm just way too sweet"

Eli loved the snow!

and here's a few more snow pictures...

We rarely get snow in December, and certainly never this much!

The old bird house looks like a face.

Little Weetie struggled to run through the deep snow.

Snow made the raggedy old chicken wire fence prettier,

and the little duck pen down near the pond.

Cedar limbs heavy with snow hang low over the dam.

Just a few more, I promise...

Whew! Way too many pictures, I know. It was just so pretty!

The beauty of today was that big warm sun in the sky and the snow beginning to melt away! As beautiful as this snow was that first day, you just can't beat a warm sunny summer day.

Thank you for looking.

Love,
Henny

  8. What a beautiful, beautiful snow! And that picture of Eli - Wow! I love the way the world sounds right after a big snow, or maybe I should say the way it doesn't sound - that muffled quiet is amazing. Poor little Weetie is sinking and I bet it was hard to see Eli in all that white! Thank you for sharing such beautiful pictures!

    1. Thank you Bonnie for looking at the pictures and leaving a comment. A lot of us southerners go a little crazy when we see snow. :) It is beautiful though, and I love that, as you said, muffled quiet.

  9. You live in a lovely place anyway, but add in the snow and the sound of (snow)silence it becomes breathtakingly beautiful. Eli and Weetie steal my heart, of course!

  12. The snow covers everything and makes it look like a fairy tale place. Eli has sort of a shifty look in that first picture but we all know Eli is never shifty!

  16. I enjoyed looking at the snow, I like the fresh snow in my garden. What I do not like is the slush on the roads when it starts to turn grey and brown, then it freezes and becomes a real hazard. Eli looks magnificent no matter where he is.

  17. When you have a heavy snow fall it makes for lots of good photo opportunities. I know! I get snow but not this much. It's good thing your snow will melt right away.

  18. Visions of a December Christmas. It's pretty to look at but I hate to be in it. At least Eli enjoyed the snow. He looks like he was meant to be in it.

  22. I do love the snow (I'd better since I live in Michigan!), but tending to the donks takes a lot more effort with a big pile like you got. I'll wait, thank you...

  23. Oh my but that is a beautiful scene! I'm so jealous of your wonderful snowy wonderland. I've been hoping for snow, but we haven't gotten any so far this year. So sad for me, so happy for you!

  24. Your log cabin home is perfect in this weather. Eli and Weetie, too. I say keep them photos coming! I love snow-- never tire of it-- and I live where snow falls so you'd think I hated it, but no.

  31. It's so pretty! We are usually the ones to get such a lot of snow-but right now we have just a dusting of it, and it's fairly warm for December. Love the look of your home in the snow...

  32. Wow! Gorgeous photos! Have you ever read the long poem by Whittier called "Snowbound"? It's a fun poem and perfect for fireside reading in a storm.
