A little Saturday Evening Post

Taking a minute here at the edge of dark, to post a little something.

That new apron is finished!! Whew! Hopefully the next one will be easier. I have no idea why it was so much trouble and work for me. I mean, how simple this looks...

The ruffle around the apron does not have enough fullness or gathers...like the apron in the picture on the pattern.

Here's the back. This apron doesn't tie at the neck, but slips over your head.

anyhow, it will go in the little shop. I'm anxious to start another one.

The sky was pretty late yesterday, as I was out closing the chickens up for the night.

and would you believe there was a frost warning for last night! Well, there was! Again!

Not much of a post here. Thank you for stopping by. Hopefully, I will return.

Love,
Henny

  1. The second one will probably be easier...I need to make an apron. I like making them...but no one here wears them.

  2. Your apron is simply darling! I love the heart on the front and the bird fabric is oh-so-sweet!

Have a most blessed Sunday! Hugs!

  3. I love the apron, the fabric is so springlike. Beautiful skies. We had about 4 inches of snow yesterday morning. When is spring going to finally stick around? LOL!! Enjoy your weekend.

  4. If I could sew like you do ( well, if I could sew AT ALL) I'd make pretty aprons like the heart-shaped one. I like the ones that slip over your head better than the tying ones.

I hope you don't get frost. Right now I can hear the rain drumming on the roof; we really do not need any more rain!!
    Have a lovely Sunday.

  5. I always admire the fabrics you choose for your beautiful aprons. I love this one! Hopefully, last night was your last frost. I got brave and planted a few annuals today. Aren't beautiful sunsets just a wonderful way to end the day...

  8. I like aprons that you just pop over your head, and that pattern looks like it could be a bit tricky with the heart shape on the front. I think it came out well.
    And what a lovely sky!!

  9. Your a busy woman, if you're not tending animals, you're always sewing or gardening . . . I think that you are a lot like me, needing to stay busy. If I'm not busy, I'm bored or sleeping, LOL.

  10. That apron does not look easy!!!!!!!! You are so talented.

    Beautiful sunset photos.

Speaking of your chickens, and looking at your pretty Header, reminds me that next door son/family got 4 baby chicks, last week. My husband went over to see them... They are still on the back closed in porch, with their heat lamp and early set up, because of the cold and rain.

But I have not gone over to see them. If I don't see them, maybe I won't worry about them. -sigh- I worry about their dog and their 2 cats. I can't add 4 chickens, to my worry! -sigh-sigh-sigh-

Yes, my worry, even extends to animals. We can not have any more cats, because I used to worry about them, more than I worried about my children!!!!!

I was going to take pics, and use the chicks, as a blog entry. But....... So far..... I think this is my best choice. Don't see 'em... They don't "really" exist.

Yeah, when they are in their outside chicken place, I can't avoid seeing them. And of course, we seem to have a hawk, living near by. :-(((

    EEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!!

  11. I do love that this apron pattern, does not TIE in the back of the neck! Tying aprons, bother my neck for some reason.

Would you possibly be making a not-neck-tie-apron, in something like your navy blue floral material? I ask, because I am messy!!!! ,-) I love the soft pink flowers material, but know I need a more "dark-patterned" material, to be "forgiving" of the spots I put on it. -sigh-

Please and thank you, for a reply. On my blog...

  24. Very nice apron. I remember the old ones that did not have the bib like part. I used to love those when I was a young girl, the way I look I need one that will over all the front for sure....maybe even the sides! haha....nice job.

  25. Don't you love those pretty skies! The apron is pretty too, and not really that simple. I see plenty of gathering to be done, which can be time consuming and fiddly. So happy to get my repaired sewing machine back. It sews so much faster than the two I was using to fill in with.
