Dear friends,
Shaking hands with Poppy.
This old wheelbarrow makes a pretty good bed for you know who.
Better get busy. Today seems like Monday but I'm not getting much done. We were at the vet's office at 9:15 this morning. Dr. Davis wanted to follow up on Eli's Ehrlichiosis and finish giving him his booster shoots. It's a shame Eli and I can't see the same doctor...after all we both have the same illness and are on the same medication. I'm scared to death that I am going to swallow one of Eli's big pills and give him one of mine. : )
Have I even posted about the teeny tiny garden yet? I don't think so. Doc told me to stay out of sun between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm while taking this Doxycycline. But I'll be back with pictures of the little garden.
Thank you for visiting.
Love,
Henny
Thank you so much for the nice comments. The Doxycycline is working to make me well, but yuk, the Doxycycline itself makes me feel sick. It's not so easy on the stomach.
How was your Memorial Day? Poppy put a couple of steaks on the grill for our supper and let's see, late afternoon we did cut a watermelon and eat a slice. Pretty exciting stuff going on around here.

We did promise to show you Eli's new hair cut.
Leslie at The Animal House did a great job. He is cute as a button, but I miss that long beautiful coat he wore. He looks like a puppy again with those little clipped ears.
I miss those big furry feet, looking and sounding like he was shuffling around in bedroom shoes.
You really need to see Eli standing to appreciate how much long hair was cut off. Can't seem to catch him on his feet.

I often wish I could see a vet instead of a Doctor, I'm convinced the animals get better care !
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that way, Wean. :)
DeleteEli looks so handsome with his new cut. He's such a doll. Glad you are improving but hope the tummy troubles go away. That must be awful. Looking forward to seeing your garden. Deb
ReplyDeleteHey Deb, thank you. I am feeling better.
DeleteEli looks so pretty! Yes the doxy is hard on your tummy eats some crackers and lots of water...lots and lots of water and your tummy may feel better:)
ReplyDeleteGosh, I do need to drink more water and I have a hard time doing that. Thank you Far Side.
DeleteHe looks very cute with his hair cut. White color attracts me...
ReplyDeleteThank you. :) I like white too.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous coat your dog has!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better.
Thank you. I do appreciate that!
DeleteI am glad to hear that you are on the mend, Eli is such a handsome chap, and "you know who" isn't too bad either. I look forward to garden updates, mne is ruling the roost as far as time goes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. Gardening does take a lot of time. I need to get back out there.
DeleteEli looks great! Sorry the meds don't agree with you. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your little garden.
ReplyDeleteIt's getting better. I've been eating a piece of dry toast. Thank you. :)
DeleteEli looks so dadblasted cute, praying you are doing better!!!!!!!!!!!! My hubs Elli is getting his hair cut too, he is a sweetie pie too, doesn't want to look like a shaggy dog.. Your cat looks mighty happy too..praying your tummy doesn't get all jammed up with the medicine, drought in our state of Washington, hot and humid no water like poor California, not as worse but the hottest year in recorded weather history, we go to the beach and sometimes we take our inside kitteh cats in carriers and they sleep and enjoy the sounds of the waves and the people we see from my childhood kindergarten and first grade classes can you imagine? we have a hoot, some are widows, widowers but mostly old married like us tomorrow we are married 41 years, I just turned 67 on this past sunday, it was wonderful we went to the beach with our kitteh cats and had a feast of the sea, we did not want to come home today this morning early..we come and go and enjoy the land and our friends, your Eli is such a beautiful boy, just like my Elli is he can spell it Eli or Elli as his birth certificate two of em have it one way Eli and the other one Elli but he will always be my sweetheart to me! Ciao and good thoughts and pet your Eli for me and a big smooch too, and a pet to your gorgeous kitteh cat too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! 41 years. Congratulations! Sounds like wonderful times at the beach. Neat that we both have an "Eli". :) Thank you for the comment. I enjoyed it!
DeleteI'm so glad you are beginning to feel better. My sister had to take a course of antibiotics several years ago and said that they made her feel worse than what they were fixing. But they did the trick in the long run which is what counts.
ReplyDeleteEli looks very spiffy with his new haircut and I bet he feels a lot cooler too with all that long hair off and gone.
Take it easy during your recuperation-----it's easy to start trying to make up for lost time and put back your full recovery.
Hey Vic. Eli acts like he feels better with his hair cut. We are supposed to have hot humid weather the rest of the week so we got it cut at the right time. I understand what your sister means. Antibiotics can make you feel horrible, but thank goodness they take care of the problem. I am feeling much better. My aches and pains are gone.
DeleteI am sure Eli will feel much bette in the summer heat. Our garden is under water yet again. We are blessed with good health, though. Praying you get well soon.

ReplyDeleteOh you have had lots of rain! I need to be more like you and focus on the good things that we do have. Thank you so much.
DeleteHope you will be feeling better soon. Elis looks so handsome with his new haircut, hopefully he will be back to full strength soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Eli is feeling much better too!
DeleteYou have a very different looking doggie now, but he still has his fluffy long tail! It is about time to give my pooch a trim, and she always looks so much younger. I'm glad you both are getting better. Have you ever tried taking acidophilus for your stomach when you have been on antibiotics? See if your doctor agrees. I am glad we don't have bad ticks inmy area, the fleas were bad enough until they came up with the medication to give dogs. I am really sending good thoughts your way, take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. I'm glad you don't have ticks too. Several yearsago we had a terrible bout with fleas. It was horrible and I honestly thought we would never get rid of them. I have two more days of antibiotics. The acidophilus would probably help get my system back to normal. The doctor and pharmacist both said not to drink milk four hours before or after taking a doxycycline pill. The calcium bonds with the Doxycycline. Isn't that weird! I love hearing from you!
DeleteFunny - that was my first thought when I saw the photo of Eli: he looks so much younger!
ReplyDeleteI imagine he'll be more comfortable in the hot weather.
Hey Marty. I think he will be much cooler. He's our puppy again. :)
DeleteI agree that Eli's ears are so cute ( as is he). Hope you will soon be done taking your meds and will feel better again!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm looking forward to taking that last pill!
DeleteI understand about the Doxycycline. Some of these medicines puts you down instead of helping you.
ReplyDeleteWell hello there! Good to hear from you. Funny how something that makes you feel bad can heal the problem too.
DeleteI see Eli still has his big fluffy tail.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! We couldn't get rid of that big fluffy tail. :)
DeleteEven though Eli looks very cute with his summer haircut, I'm glad he got to keep that plume-y tail. Also glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cynthia. I know. I love his big old fluffy tail. :)
DeleteEli looks great... I cut Keepers hair recently as well and ummmm wellllll ... Eli's is so perfect looking. They do look like a puppy when their hair is cut.
