Gripe and Complain

I like Fridays. Poppy goes in to work at 10:00 am and gets off at 7:00 pm. Normally I can get everything done; housework, yard work, animals cared for, our salads made, and then, hallelujah, an hour or so of uninterrupted time on the computer. But not today! We needed a few groceries and a bag or two of animal feed. A stop at Walmart and the feed store is all it takes to blow that bit of extra time I was so looking forward to.

Seeing as how I am bound and determined to post a little something on my blog today, guess it will have to be about what we have more of around here...animals!

While somebody was sound asleep, a kitty cat crept in, stole Eli's teddy bear, and crept out. Who is that little thief...

Looks like Eli will have to sleep with one eye open from now on...

Mokey said he slept right through the heist...

Eli has now gained up to 113 pounds and he is 14 months old. When is a dog considered grown? Wonder if he will get any taller. We've read that Pyrenees can weigh up to 160 pounds. Wouldn't that be something! He's already about to outgrow our teeny tiny house. Guess we'll manage somehow.

Okay, I've had my minute at the computer. Better get going. Hope to be back with some really interesting post. That would be a first!  Thank you for not crossing me off yet.

Love,
Henny

  1. No, not an uninteresting post at all. I love coming here (and you are at the top of my list of blogs to visit) and see what's happening there. Exciting or not it's always interesting.

It's amazing how those multiple, simple, short (or should be short) errands eat up your extra time. I always come in grumbling about it when it's my turn (which it seems always to be) to do them.

    1. I appreciate that so much! Around here it is always my turn! Don't ever retire while your husband is still employed and working full time! : ) Hey, that would be a good complaint to post about!

    1. Thank you. That's exactly what cats do. Sometimes I hear Bickett growling and he will have around his toy mouse, like he just caught it.

  7. I love that Eli....what a big beautiful fluffy dog you have! How could the cat have made off with that big bear? Ha! I don't think so. But it's cute that Eli loves that bear so much! Love your blog too!

    1. Actually, I slipped the bear away from Eli and put it on the bed in the sewing room to be mended. The poor bear's head was hanging on by a thread. Next time I walked past the sewing room, Dumperoo was snuggled up to the bear. : )

  12. Your Eli is good with cats and thinks chickens are toys LOL. Keeper is not good with cats and loves his chickens. Funny .... I doubt your Eli is grown :O), Keeper kept putting on size even after he was 2 yrs old. LOL Nope you best be making some room cuz he isn't done yet LOL. I read somewhere the giants breeds take about 2 yrs to fully get grown and that seemed to hold true with Keeper. I don't think he is fully filled out weight wise yet and the vet doesn't either... Keeper is really tall, my vet who also has Great Pyrenees commented on how tall Keeper is. He is long bodied as they most all seem to be as well. 135 lbs of big white doggy is what he is now and there is no fat on him .. Keeper was underweight when we got him from Rescue. He had a very hard start in life which is how he wound up in rescue... So he had some catch up to do on growing, he was 9 months old when we got him. We had a very hard time getting him to eat. So that took some time too. Again his life before rescue played into that we feel....That maybe why he grew in height and length even after 2. The vet says she is ok with what he has got his weight up to, that she feels he is very healthy....but she feels he isn't there yet.. that he will hit 150 lbs

  13. Ah, I see you answered my question about the bear:) Eli probably might get a little taller, but he will definitely fill out some yet.

  14. A delightful post.Eli is so cuddlesome, I’d love to have him lying around. at least he’s too big to trip over and probably also lights up in the dark with his gorgeous fur.

Take some time for yourself, just drop something. Or perhaps you are more conscientious than I am and don’t do things like that.
