Good grief! I am so far behind with reading posts and posting. Maybe I'll just pretend I'm not, and start here...
We were at the hospital at 6:15 Monday morning. Poppy came through his surgery fine, and honestly, I think they must have prescribed happy pills for him. He has not been this cheerful and happy and talkative in years.
Saying hello here and still looking a little high from the anesthesia. I'm sure the nurses in the recovery room were glad to see us leave. It sounded like a party going on from the time he started coming off the anesthesia until we got out of there. Folks coming off anesthesia can sure say some funny things!
When I asked Eli if he wanted to play in the Goat's lot, he grabbed his bear. Wanted to carry back-up this time.
Smokey watching from his post...
I said once, no more big bones but on Sunday, Poppy brought home surprises...
One for Eli and one for Weetie...
These floors will never be the same.
I'm really in need of something fun and interesting to talk about. Maybe when spring and gardening time gets here...
Thank you for stopping by.
Love,
Henny

I'm glad that Poppy did well with his surgery and woke up happy. I hope he stays happy when the anesthesia is totally worn off. Have you ever see the video of the man waking after surgery and doesn't recognize his wife? He tells her how beautiful she is and goes on and on. It's really funny and really happened. If you haven't seen it, you can Google it as man waking from surgery with wife. It popped right up when I did the search. I wanted to make sure it was still available to watch.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peg. I found that video. It is so funny! I've got to show it to Poppy. :)
DeleteGlad to hear that Poppy's surgery went well and he is on the comeback trail.
ReplyDeleteThank you. He will be home until next Tuesday. I'm glad it's over too.
DeleteLarry has been a bit loopy too after coming out of anesthetic:) Glad the surgery went well.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that Karen. :)
DeleteSo glad Poppy is on the mend, funny how people react with anesthetic, I am violently sick. Love the photos of Eli and Weeti with those bones, a real delight.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I've got to catch up with your posts!
DeleteI'm glad all went well with Poppy's surgery. Y'all both have a super day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri! We're getting there. :)
DeletePoppy looks happy to be home. Glad it's all over for him. Cute photos today. :) Deb
ReplyDeleteHe is very happy that surgery is over. I love the picture of you and Lily Bug. Hope you're doing okay.

ReplyDeleteGlad Poppy made it through with flying colors! Keeper loves his stuffed toys as well! Did you say you wanted to talk gardening? :O) I have been planting seeds like crazy. I have pretty much got all my peppers, tomatoes and eggplants in seed trays. Oh some Swiss chard and artichokes too. When do you start your seedlings in your neck of the woods?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Oh I love to talk gardening! :) Would you believe I have never started seedlings! I honestly don't know how to use my little greenhouse. First I need a little greenhouse heater. Buying the plants is so expensive. We bought two heavy duty drop cords but I'm using them for a light in the baby guinea's pen. Once this cold weather is past I can use the drop cords for a heater. I'm dying to try seedlings. I've been reading! :)
DeletePhew! You've both had a full day and I'll bet you're glad it's over.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to Poppy, and please give Eli a pat (and for that matter, Weetie and Smokey!)
I'm glad things are winding down! Thank you Marty!
DeleteWell, this post gave us good news and you had fun doing it. I hope recovery goes well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Red. That's true. :)
DeleteSo glad Poppy made it through surgery! That is so cute that Eli wanted to take his bear for protections from the hay-headed goat. Smokey is growing into a beautiful cat! I am getting kind of ready for spring to even though I would love to see one snow fall before then. My daffodils opened up during theses warm days when have been having.
ReplyDeleteI love you!
Thank you Vicki! That Eli is a mess! "hay-headed" is funny. I should have used that! Boy am I ever ready for spring!! Love you!
DeleteLove the bandage!! Don't fret over the bones...the dogs look in absolute bliss!
ReplyDeleteJane x
I can't believe Poppy wanted to say hi to everybody with that bandage! He was feeling pretty good!
DeleteWonderful news to read that Poppy's surgery went well, and now that's behind him.
ReplyDeleteEli surely loves that little bear, and sweet Smokey high on his outpost :)
Yes, I think we are all looking forward to warmer days.

Thank you Jo. Hope your daughter is doing good too since her surgery. Lots of people having sinus problems now. I am looking forward to warmer weather.
DeleteHope the recovery is going well for Poppy! AND for you too! Being a caregiver is tough some days...maybe he can cook for you during his recovery:)
ReplyDeleteIt can be tough! :) He actually warmed up a bowl of chili (by himself) in the microwave for his lunch today! I was busy outside. Thank you.
DeleteSo glad the surgery went well and what a bonus -- maybe they gave him happy pills. The dogs look so happy with their big bones.
ReplyDeleteThank you! He has been cheerful these last few days. Hate to see those pills go. :)
