All day long it has looked like rain, but none yet. This has been a quiet gloomy sort of Sunday. Cloudy with a little breeze blowing. Anyhow, I have piddled around wasting time, doing nothing much of anything.
I picked up an old picture album and turned through the pages, pulling out two special pictures that made me smile. Both are pictures of Poppy and our Granddaughter Madison. Madison is sixteen now and driving. But back then whatever Poppy was talking about sure had her attention...
A few years later down at the pond trying to catch a fish. Those little legs! Now she swims and works as a lifeguard during the summer months...
Good Monday morning! We woke up at 4:30 this morning to the sound rain...a much needed rain. What a good morning this would have been to roll over and go back to sleep, but not so. Poppy had to be at work at 6:00.
On my way up the path yesterday, heading toward town, I noticed the Goldenrods beginning to open. Lots of Goldenrods. I was worried they had been trampled down or mowed over.
Even on a gloomy day these bright yellow flowers bring a little sunshine...
and Black-eyed Susans...
A vase of these flowers on the front porch makes me happy. Looks like the rain is here for a couple of day so picking flowers will have to wait.
Okay, time to get busy. With it wet and raining, I have no excuse for not getting the dust wiped off everything inside this house. Yuk! I'd rather plow a field!
Thank you for visiting.
Love,
Henny

I agree on the dusting. I hate cleaning house I would rather do about anything than clean house. The only thing I hate worse it being in the hot humid miserable day. Hope you have a great week. Love you
ReplyDeleteWell it rained all day but I never get the dusting rag out. :) Just was not in the mood to dust! You have a good week too. Love you.
DeleteI woke up this morning and it's snowing! I don't feel like doing anything...maybe crying.
ReplyDeleteSnowing! And it seem like you just got rid of your snow. I would have felt like crying too. Is it cold there?
DeleteGreat old photos! I don't care much for dusting either...but someone has to do it:)
ReplyDeleteDon't know why I hat dusting so bad. I did not get it done today!
DeleteI love the flowers!
ReplyDeleteIt was house cleaning day around here today-dusting, vacuuming, cleaninf bathrooms, laundry. I'm so glad my husband and I work together on this. I hate housework.
I used to enjoy keeping house and got more done done before I retired. You really do have a great husband. Looks like he helps you with everything.
DeleteHey Mommy! You'd rather plow a field. :) I loved catching up on your recent posts. Maddie sure was looking at Poppy! It's funny you posted that! We have a copy of that picture, and Michaela was just looking at it yesterday! I love you! Your gur.
ReplyDeleteHey Lynn! I really had rather plow a field, and with a mule. That is weird that Michaela was looking at that same picture yesterday. I love you too!
DeleteI know about the dusting! The aggravating thing about housework generally is that it is only noticed when it's not done. Not fair!
ReplyDeleteThat is so true! And, it is always the woman who looks bad if the house is a mess.
DeleteThose are a couple of sweet old photos, well really not that old are they:)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the dusting.
I like it to rain once a week or so just so I don't have to do any watering:)
Hey Karen! Thank you. We had been a while without rain and really needed. But four and a half inches in 24 hours!! That's the way it goes!
ReplyDeleteDear Henny,I have been away a long time looking for work. Sorry I have missed your blog, but I see you are plenty busy. I will e-mail when I get the computer emptied out! Love Terry
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you Terry. Look forward to hearing from you!
DeleteRain is a blessing. I hope some comes our way with the cooler temps.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures.
Bonnie is a good girl and quite the character.
Have a wonderful evening.
