Hunting and searching

It's cold outside!

You know something! I am not worth two cents when it's snowing outside, not even two cents! As mama used to say, it's just hunt and search for something to eat and stand at the window looking out".

Why there were dozens of things I could have done while snowed in here for two days. Oh, I've washed a bedspread and vacuumed the living room floor and well, let's see...played with the baby goat.

Speaking of baby goat, I simply cannot call her "baby goat" like I called my other two goats. This baby needs a name, a real special name. Do you have any suggestions? Lynn came up with "Dottie", because of her two white spots, Andee likes "Binky", and Andee and I were joking about calling her "YoYo", because of her tireless jumping up and down. I would love to hear the names you all think would suit her.

Please pardon the mess here...blankets pulled off on the floor, magazines scattered...this is not my usual style.

Sweet Eli watches the baby. We tell Eli, this is his baby goat. Both Eli and Weetie seem fine with her. It's the cats who are acting weird. They don't want to be in the same room with this funny acting little black animal. I suppose we will all adjust. Especially once the sun comes back and the temperatures warm up a little!

Guess I had better get back to work... Thank you putting up with me as you do.

Love,
Henny

I can see your Mother Earth magazines, I notice these in other ladies blogs but I cannot seem to find them here in England :(.
Well Henny do what you can until the cold spell passes. Tomorrow I think I am going to bake Red velvet Brownies. Keep warm, best wishes x

  3. I thought when I read the title that you had lost the goat. haha! Somewhere in the house, of course. :)It does look cold there. It is very cold here and our snow is here to stay. That Eli looks like he'd have patience for anything. Cats...not so much. Enjoy your evening, Henny. Deb

  5. I love all the birds that visit your yard. Esp. Cardinals which we don't have but that I think are the most elegant birds.
I have no idea what name to suggest for a little black goat but I'm sure you'll think of one soon. She sure is cute.

  9. I think Yo-yo sort of cute, but I thought about Elsa...sounds good when you say Eli and Elsie...or Ebony...or just Ella...I don't know why I want something that goes good with Eli...I cannot get that out of my mind.

Taking me a while to type this...trying to think other than an 'E' name...Penelope, Charlotte....

  11. Hope you guys are doing okay. I saw on the nightly news that there was lots of ice in N. Carolina and lots of power lines down. Keep warm. Although with all those animals in the house they probably produce a good bit of extra warmth to go along with your fireplace.

I think you should be ironic and name baby goat Ivory.

  13. Ohhhh, when your water freezes as it's running down the drain, that's cold! Poor you. Hope it warms up for all your pets sake. Can't imagaine having a snow day with a baby goat thrown in the mix.

  17. Forgot to tell you that I heard someplace that if you add salt water to a couple of soda bottles and put them in a water dish/trough that the water won't freeze. I have not tried it but wish I had known that when I raised rabbits and had horses:)
