Another special package and a birthday!

It sure is hard to find time to write and publish a post when Poppy is home, and he has been off work for two days now...not that he keeps me from getting on the computer, it's just that I can't concentrate when he is home. It's hard enough to think straight when I'm here alone.

I now have a collection of two beautiful teacups and saucers, thanks to Sharon over at Rivercrest Cottage. theothermeissane.blogspot.com  This teacup came Saturday.

Sharon went to a lot of trouble to carefully package these very fragile pieces, make two trips to get them sent out, and pay the shipping cost, for me, someone she knows only through blogging...and did all this because she read how I had been searching thrift stores for a pretty teacup and saucer, and not finding one

I do plan to drink tea from this pretty little teacup today. It touches my heart that someone would do something this kind for a stranger Thank you Sharon. You are so nice!

Okay, I started this post last night... So, guess who has a birthday TODAY!!!

This sweetest, most adorable ball of white fur turns two today. Yay! It's Eli!

Life as Poppy and I had known it totally changed the day we walked through the front door with this new baby.

It was so hard to not pick him up and cuddle him, constantly! It's no wonder housekeeping got put on the back burner. Actually, I have not caught up yet!

and here's the reason there is no longer any fringe on the dining room rug. It took most of a morning sitting on the floor to untie all the knotted and frayed fringe. :)

All grown up but still just as sweet and lovable. I cannot get enough of kissing his sweet face.

No, Eli didn't get a new bear. I did however sew an arm back on, then mend and wash...with a touch of Clorox added to the washer, all three of his dirty old teddy bears. This is his favorite bear and was the dirtiest and was missing one arm. This is the bear he grabs to carry in the goat lot and drag around.

Sorry for all the pictures. It was hard to pick just a couple.

I have a ton of work to do today and not getting any of it done...so guess I had better get busy. Why, I haven't called Shelby in over a week...my only sister. It's crazy how time flies!

Love,
Henny

Saying goodbye!

Thank you Sharon!

  2. What a wonderful thing to receive these lovely teacups! I am sure it really blessed you...they are both gorgeous! Happy Birthday to sweet Eli! Like you, I get nothing done when my hubby is home either. He works away from home half of the time as a co-manager of a group home. We all need our time to ourselves..at least I know I do! Happy Wednesday :)

    1. I was so happy to get the teacups. Why is that...that we get nothing done when our husbands are home? And Poppy is retiring in March...part time anyway. :/

  23. Henny Penny, I love that you featured the teacups. Thank you for the shout out and the link. But, the one simple thing about the teacups that is special to me is that you have the beginnings of your collection and I was able to find someone who would love and use them. After reading Marie Kondo's book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, I have been able to let go of some things that I had stored away to simplify my life and bring joy to someone else. I think of you and your little farm whenever I drink my ice tea (yes ice tea even in winter!)
