Computer to sewing room and back

Here I've been at the computer for over an hour. I sat down to put a little post on but started reading all these blogs that I love. After reading, I want to leave a comment and well my time at the computer is gone. What's a blogger to do? Ask for my own laptop for Christmas? But wait, I can't do that, my Christmas list is already made out...

Metal T posts (43)
Fencing (3) 50' rolls
Donkeys (2)

Just guessing (and kidding) at the number of posts and fencing feet, but seriously, I've come up with a smaller area on our property to fence in for a small pasture.

Now that Poppy is selling his huge collection of racing stuff on eBay my blogging time is limited...

I'm seeing a lot more of the back of Poppy's head lately. Last night while he sat at the computer I worked in the sewing room finishing up some dolls...

I need brown yarn. Too many blonds and redheads in the bunch. The dolls are coming right along. Four large and four small dolls are almost finished, needing just hair and faces added.

The weather has changed from cool and sunny...perfect for working outside to, well, unusual. Friday night late we had thunderstorms and got an inch of rain. Yesterday it was hot, 82 degrees and very humid with thunderstorms in the afternoon. Today is cooler, dark and gloomy with rain showers.  Good grief, I sound like a weatherman. Have I told you about the play I was in back in grammar school? Well, picture the shyest kid in school. ME.  In the play I was the weather reporter. My part was to stand in front of a map with a pointer in my hand and say, "there will be scattered showers". When my part came up I looked out across the auditorium at all the parents and said, "there will be shattered scours today". Mama and daddy laughed about this for years!

Better bring this to a close. :) Thank you for tuning in.

Love,
Henny

  2. "I'm seeing a lot more of the back of Poppy's head lately" - one of the best remarks I've read all week. Funny lady.

I'm sure the audience was grateful you livened up the weather forecast, Henny!

  6. Yep I agree go for the fence and the computer :O)...... you know black friday is coming and if you can stand the lines and the crowds... you can probably pick up a computer for yourself cheap at Walmart or Best Buy etc if you have that... Where we live Walmart is pretty much it.. but they usually have a super deal on a computer in their black friday add... though I must admit.. ewwwww its just so crowded and the lines are long and and and LOL.. but hey sometime a girl has to do what she has to do! I hope you get your fencing and Donkeys! Seems my part time work is turning back into more than part time.. so my blogging is limited at best :O)...

    1. You're right. Black Friday would be the time to buy a computer. I wonder how safe I would be lining up at our Walmart. I would probably get trampled! Walmart is about it for us too except a few drug and hardware stores. I hate you won't have as much blogging time. I sure enjoy your posts. You must be a hard worker to accomplish all that you do.

I make the dolls for craft shows and used to make them to sell at the farmer's market along with bonnets and aprons.

The dolls? Are they gifts or for a craft show? or? Looks like you have been busy making quite a few!

  8. I do hope you get your fencing and donkeys and a great suggestion from everyone to get a computer of your own. The dolls are looking wonderful, it would be nice to have a closer look, when they are finished.

  9. Scours is a deadly condition for weather announcers and others. Too funny. There was a part in our wedding ceremony that said, "God bless their affections" and our preachers said "God bless their infections" I have trouble not laughing at my own ceremony.

Bonnie is gentle with cats, she just wants them to run and play with her. We have supervised most interactions. The big cats can intimidate her with a look. The young ones are very afraid. I guess it's much how we would react if Big foot walked in and wanted to shake hands.

Have a wonderful day. We have a stormy day ahead and maybe some scours!

    1. "infections"! That's even funnier. I bet it was hard not to get tickled. Thanks for answering my question. I worried after asking. Bonnie looks too sweet to be mean. Eli doesn't have a mean bone in his body either but one swipe with his paw could hurt a kitten. He sure want to play though. Hope the storms pass you with no problems. The storms are supposed to get here tomorrow, but worse storms on Wednesday.
