We have decided on the name "Eli". We tried calling him Roman and then Akita, but Eli seemed to fit just right. So Eli it is.
Eli is seven weeks old and the first to leave the litter. He has an unbelievable personality, very different from the Labs we've raised. He is quiet and seems content, even in this new environment. He has not whined or acted like he misses his litter mates.
This has been a fun but tiring day. Oh, Eli has the cutest white eyelashes! Can you see them?
Eli lived with his family on a large beautiful farm. Their house sits in the middle of 30 acres and they board horses. Hope he will find happiness with us here in a tiny log cabin surrounded by 5 acres
Well friends, this post is not exactly how I want it but Poppy is tired and ready for lights out, so I will say good night! Thanks for visiting.
Love,
Henny Penny
What a beauty! There's nothing like a good puppy.
ReplyDeleteThank you. You are so right!
DeleteI'm sure Eli will love his new home. What a beautiful puppy.
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope he will love it here! Thanks!
DeleteHe is a looker and I really like his name! In that last photo that must be his parents...I am certain he will adjust just fine to your farm.. What adventures lie ahead of you! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Actually those are not Eli's parents. His Mother was up at the house and his Father belongs to a friend. One of those behind the fence is a Lab mix and the other a white Pyrenee. I didn't ask much about those two. We are excited to have Eli!
DeleteGood morning Henny Penn - Love comes in all shapes and sizes, and Eli's coming, better watch your heart! Old Three Dog Night song, I am old, I can't resist. Eli knows he has you 2 wrapped around his little paws! XOXO Terry
ReplyDeleteHey Terry! You're not old! Were they popular in the late 70's? I'm the old one! Eli is sweet! Everything we read say you must let these dogs know from the very beginning who is boss...I am not good at that! :)
DeleteDear Henny, I am behind, yes Three Dog Night popular in the early 1970s especially with a song called "Eli's Coming". I am so glad you have him, he will be a love and I bet your kitties will love him too! I can't wait to see what adventures you 3 will get into now! Stay tuned..Love Terry
DeleteWelcome Eli! I look forward to watching you grow up. Perhaps Mummy would pass these onto you, from me.XXXXX

Mummy will pass every kiss on to Eli! :) " Eli" is much better than "Rambo", don't you think?
DeleteOh, yes! He suits Eli.

He is about the cutest little/big guy I have ever seen. He will love living on your home. It is not want you own that makes a home it is the people that love you and take care of you. This dog will be so spoiled, happy and protect his family to the max.
ReplyDeleteLove you, Vicki
Oh Vicki, I wish you could hold him. He is so sweet! I have not been able to get to the post office to mail a package yet but will very soon! I love you!
DeleteEli is a real honey. There's just nothing like falling in love, is there?

Thank you! Nothing like it!!!
DeleteEli is beautiful and I love his name. My brother has a grown version of Eli and has enjoyed how protective his dog is of the farm animals. I hope Eli brings you and Poppy lots of fun and happy times. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Joanie! I sure hope so too! :)
DeleteHe is a wonderful white fluffball, and is sure to bring you much happiness, and adventure! I bet you have had many dogs along the paths of your lives, and this guy certainly looks special. For the first year you will be his guide, teacher and protector. And then, it will be his honor to "take care" of you and your animals. I have a feeling he will be the subject of many blog postings! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHey Pam! Thank you! Yes, I wonder if I will find anything else to blog about now that Eli is here! He is a good puppy.
DeleteOh how cute and cuddly he looks. I like the name Eli, it rolls off the tongue easily. He will be a good guardian dog for your animals.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen. We need a good guard dog around here! :)
DeleteWhat an adorable boy! I'm sure he will find plenty of things to interest him on your 5 acres. Enjoy your days together--puppyhood goes by so fast.
ReplyDeleteThank you. You are so right. They grow up too fast. He is so playful and cute now.
DeletePrecious boy! Look forward to more photos as he inches bigger.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is fun taking pictures of him!
DeleteCalm is good. Cute doesn't hurt a thing.
ReplyDeleteYou said it right! Calm is very good. He is feeling a little more at home now and using those sharp little baby teeth!
