Fuchsia! Not my favorite color!

Fuchsia is not my favorite color but there's lots of it around these days...

We got rain yesterday and into the night. The big fuchsia pink azalea, Formosa, I think these are called, survived the cold snap we had a few weeks ago.

and has grown absolutely huge over the years. Good grief, pardon the brown and red shop in the background, and the weeds around. Can you imagine painting three sides of that shop and then half of the end, and stopping! I sorta do things that way. Poppy says he will finish the job...as soon as turkey season ends.

Chenille bedspreads are my favorite. The blue chenille had been on the bed since before my back problems, so I decided change to the burgundy, or deep fuchsia. Of course, Bickett could not wait to claim his spot on the clean bedspread. Bless his heart, he looks cross-eyed here, but really, he is not.

Yesterday morning early was my first physical therapy session. Had no idea what to expect but it was wonderful! Simply wonderful! Most of the first visit was paperwork and talking with the physical therapist. She told me new ways of doing things to keep my back straight.

Friends, most of my life has been spent bending from the waist pulling weeds, picking up animals, scrubbing water buckets, picking out every tiny bit of lint from the carpet, and on and on and on. All this has got to change! But what about knees that no longer bend??

My physical therapy, fuchsia pink outfit. :)

So, not being a stretchy knit type person and having never owned a pair of knit pants in my life, I went to Walmart. I figured a tiered skirt simply would not do for physical therapy. Came home happy with a pair of black Danskins.

The fuchsia pink jersey top however did not come from Walmart. Folks, this top is expensive stuff...from Goodwill! :) It's by "JJill". Wish I could afford to buy all my clothes from JJill.

Poppy should be coming in the door soon. Thank you friends! Hope to be back soon...and I will be catching up.

Love,
Henny

  1. Fuchsia is just about my favorite color - at least for flowers. When I was a kid my red-violet crayon was my favorite. It's funny what we remember sometimes. Good luck with the therapy. I'm glad you think it's wonderful.

  2. Azaleas don't like me, yet I keep trying - I planted two pink ones this year. We shall see....

  3. Our azaleas were lovely until a heavy rain took them down. Ugh. So much time, but so little time spent enjoying those fleeting flowers! Hope "Back School" is helping you learn to go easy on your back. It did me. Good luck. I've been down with laryngitis and what I thought was strep throat. Saw doctor today, so hoping to get back to full swing soon.

  6. Great to see all the pink in your life after the gloomy weather and physical challenge! Spring can be your inspiration. I better get my shoes on and walk my doggy while I am inspired! All the best, Pam

  7. Hi Henny! I like your physical therapy outfit!
Aw! Kitty on the bed. SO fun!
I am so glad you are being careful and you made me laugh when you said that you picked up every bit of lint off the carpet all these years!

  9. You sound so upbeat. It's great that you are on the mend.

I've never heard of the brand JJILL but I'm not much for fashion. Maybe we don't even have it ( JJILL< not fashion) in Canada.

  12. Good that your plants survived. Plants are tough.

  13. I'm so glad to hear that you've started physical therapy. I know that it will go well and help keep your back safe and in good working condition. Love the azalea. It's such a big beauty. I have no luck with them at all. The top is lovely. I love J Jill things but they are expensive and usually very casual wear as well. I always sigh over their catalog but only now and then buy something but only on sale. Who buys this stuff at full price anyway?

    Love you

  19. A fuschia-themed post! How clever you are. And I can see Bickett's happy smile at all the souvenirs of fur he'll be leaving on the new bedspread. Good news that you enjoyed your therapy. That is a problem - all that advice to bend from the knees when the knees have their own ideas!

  20. Your fushia flowers and bedspread are very pretty. I planted one azalea bush but it died. Hope your therapy helps with your yard work problems. Nancy

  23. I don't think I own anything fuchsia colored, but aai do love it in the garden! That was a fun way to tie your news items together.
Bending at the waist is still something I do too much of, but fortunately I can get down on my knees. That is something you should work on in physical therapy.
