He scratched at the door this morning and when I opened it he walked in with this teddy bear.
Eli turns two next month. Do you ever outgrow your love of teddy bears?
Poppy told me on Sunday that he would go Christmas shopping with me on Monday....
Our plan for Monday was to get up and out of the house early, beat the crowds and maybe get home in time for Poppy to hunt. That we did! But shopping and bringing home a trunk load of lovely wrapped gifts, that didn't happen. Oh, Poppy was patient enough...making suggestions, picking up things to show me, asking me, exactly what are you looking for, and who are you shopping for...that sort of thing.
We spent a grand total of 7.99 and brought home three small items that when Poppy asked, who are these for, I answered I don't know.
So Poppy went to work yesterday and I went Christmas shopping. We now have gifts to wrap and put under the tree, and as Mama would say, such as they are...except I forgot to buy wrapping paper. :(
Yesterday was productive. Shopping was fun. The Christmas cards are all written and in the mail, and on my way out of town, I stopped at the feed and seed store and hung two apron sets on the little rack in the window. Hopefully, these will sell before Christmas.
Better get busy, as I have a ton of work to do and Poppy is hunting again today. He will be in for lunch soon. I'll be around shortly to catch up with all the favorite posts I've missed. Don't the days simply fly!!
Love,
Henny
I do so much better when I shop by myself, having anyone with me, is more of a distraction and stops me from thinking...lol
ReplyDeleteLook at that sweet Eli with his teddy bear, he just loves that little bear :)

I dislike shopping. It is a wonder we buy anything besides groceries. Hope Eli gets his new bear:)
ReplyDeleteThe line "We spent a grand total of...cracked me right up.
ReplyDeleteHow nice of Poppy to go shopping with you without whining and complaining! The cabin is looking very cozy!
ReplyDeleteEli is adorable! Glad you got your Christmas shopping done. I am not a big shopper, in and out quickly is best for me. Your fireplace looks lovely.
ReplyDeletePapa and I love Christmas shopping together he is such a big kid and fun to lol ! Miggs has two teddies , a squirrel , a hedge hog , and a bunny yeah she is spoilt lol ! Santa Paws leaves treats and a small toy every year in her stocking and the same for Harley out cat who really couldn't care less lol ! Glad you got your Christmas shopping done . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteFor me shopping (especially Christmas shopping) is no fun with so many people on my list that I hardly ever see. It's even less fun when accompanied by someone else. It's especially hard when you really don't know what you want to buy/find for a certain person and so are just expecting to "know it when you see it"----something that men particularly seem to not understand.
ReplyDeleteEli is sooooo photogenic! He'd win any "most adorable dog" contest he was entered in.
We have very little in the way of Christmas shopping to do, so that is okay with me. I chuckled about your Monday 'shopping', but am glad you were productive on Tuesday:)
ReplyDeleteHope Eli gets the new bear he wants, he is looking particularly handsome today. Shame about the wrapping paper but at least you managed to get the shopping done.
ReplyDeleteI am in agreement with Far Side... I do not like shopping. Buying groceries is okay and thrift shopping is great fun. Regular shopping? Not so much. Fortunately we don't buy a lot of Christmas gifts, except for the younger grands. I am the world's worst wrapper so mostly I use gift bags and lots of tissue paper.
ReplyDeleteYou are a great wife, spend a grand total of 7.99.
ReplyDeletePoppy is very patient!
Is a new bear for Eli one of the presents you shopped? He looks so cute with his old one. Our Bob lovingly carries a bear around for awhile and then suddenly chews it right up!
ReplyDeleteYour fireplace looks like something out of a magazine. Just beautiful!
Well, there you go. The cards are done and you're on your way with the gifts.
ReplyDeleteWill Eli accept a new bear. I'm sure the old one smells just right.
ReplyDeleteMy shopping is done. Now i need to begin wrapping.
You are so funny! LOL I don't know if Eli would want a new bear. Our Coco has a couple toys we call her comfy toys and they have to be a certain kind of material. She is 9 or 10 and sucks on them like a baby's pacifier. Nancy
ReplyDeleteI think it is odd how dogs love stuffed animals! Our Boston Terrier doesn't get stuffed animals anymore because he tears them apart immediately. His favorite toy is a small tennis ball which he likes to have thrown for him and will play as long as the thrower can hold out.
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so beautiful.

Well, they certainly couldn't call you a big spender...lol! Your decorations and that fireplace absolutely looks like something off the front of vintage Christmas card...it's just beautiful! Old fashioned Christmases are the best! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Henny!
ReplyDeleteI have to go to town one more time, I am a little behind with the wrapping!! Must try not to panic we still have another week I tell myself :)) Lovely photo's best wishes Jackie.
ReplyDeleteJust love the photos of your cabin... they are so cozy and calming to look at! Eli with his bear... these GP's do love their BIG stuffed toys lol
