Any time I leave the bucket, the hens come along and turn it over. This drives Weetie crazy!
So, no more...
Have you heard that we have snow coming in late this evening! Hard to imagine right now! It's warm and sunny. Perfect for swinging...
Poppy got to swinging so high his feet hit the bird feeders. Had to stop and rearrange everything...
No snow in these clouds...
Or these...
Me at my worst. I made the mistake of laying the camera down. Poppy dared me to post these too...
Well, if you've got work to do, you wear your old work clothes. Right? :)
Thank you for visiting.
Love,
Henny Penny
Oh my goodness...you look well dressed compared with how I walk around here!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Jane, thank you. The holes in my shirt didn't show up in the picture! :)
DeleteHenny Penny you are beautiful no matter what you are dressed in. You need to have more confidence in your beauty!!
ReplyDeleteVicki, you are so sweet. See my crooked fingers...my arthritis! :(
DeleteMy work clothes look worse than that. The knit hooded jacket is so torn and tattered you wouldn't believe and talk about dirty! Like you say, no point in dressing up when you're just going to work.
ReplyDeleteGood old worn out clothes just feel better, I've tried working in a skirt and it's hard! Always catching the tail of it on something!
DeleteYou have such a love place, all those beautiful garden paths. Those work clothes look brand new too. Heck, they don't even have any duct tape on them, they're not even broke in yet:) Put your hand down and smile proud cause you look great.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny about the duct tape. Wish I had shown my work gloves. Every finger has duct tape on the ends. Duct tape adds months of wear! Thank you!
DeleteGood morning, Henny - Course you look good! But, I think it is worth mention that look who is swinging and playing and look who is in work clothes and toting around a trap? Hmm. Just a-kidding! Beautiful place, XO Terry
ReplyDeleteTerry, you noticed. I was thinking the same thing. Who is always working! :) And that trap. I am not a trapper! :) We have a guinea that has decided to roost in a small cedar tree right near where Fiona Ling Ling was killed. We set the trap, in case it was a raccoon or possum. Either of those will climb a tree and catch a guinea. We didn't catch anything, thankfully. If we had, Poppy would have carried it down on the creek a few miles from here and released it.
DeleteOh, oh, oh! I love your pathway. Please let me add it to my blog some day. In a photo where you aren't embarrassed with how you look, though I think you look fine. :-) I've been trying to add your blog to my blogroll for a while now. Blogger won't let me do it right now. :-P I'm so glad that you commented on my blog to remind me to try again. It didn't work this time either, but I'll keep trying.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The path looks a little better in the spring. Everything looks so blah right now. :) I have been trying to add a couple of blogs too and can't get it to work. Hope it gets straightened out soon!
DeleteBeing unable to add blogs or comment has happened before and it was because Blogger was tweaking the platform I expect that's what is going on now.
DeleteI hope you enjoy your snow. Love the last photo with the chicken head first in the bucket!
ReplyDeleteThe snow started after dark and ended before daylight. We got an inch and a half. The fun part is watching it fall. It was exciting!!
DeleteNo muddy knees? How can I tell those are work clothes? I'm usually a mess when I'm working outside.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting place you have, and your hens are so lovely.
Actually, all I did was rake up 5 wheelbarrow loads of leaves and pine straw. Didn't get too dirty! :)
ReplyDeleteHello Henny,
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing more of the farm, and your photos are so cute! Poppy sounds like a fellow with a fun loving side. When I painted the Big Boy picture,I got to know your barn and the path, and some of your trees. It was nice to see a longer view, and you should know that I felt as if I had been visiting! You and your work clothes are darn stylish for the tasks at hand!
Hey Pam! How did I miss your comment! I'm sorry. I have to say, Poppy does make me laugh. The yard is a mess right now and that brown bed by the path is a garden spot I started. I can't wait to see green and flowers again!
DeleteGood thing you have a guard dog! Looks warm there to me! I bet your snow doesn't last long:) Why would anyone dress up to do chores:)
ReplyDeleteAs cold as it is here, it would seem warm to you folks. We hear about the cold Minnesota weather every morning on local news!
ReplyDeleteLove your pathway, and it's always great to see the person behind the words. Your work clothes look pretty clean to me:)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Well, I had not done a lot of work that day! :)
DeleteDear Henny,
ReplyDeletePapa always said that true beauty never fades and only grows. It isn't something that can be falsely put on, nor can it be disguised, regardless of what a person wears. You are beautiful. It runs in the family apparently. ; )
The northland has been brutal. I hope you all stay warm down there, it's heading your way next.
With love,
Jen
Oops again Jen. My reply to you is way down at the bottom. You know how I am with a computer! :)
DeleteMama, I love those pictures of you! My beautiful, beautiful mama. And Poppy looks like he's having fun in the swing. ;) I love you bigger than the whole wide world. Your gur.
ReplyDeleteLynn, thank you. I love you even more that that! Mom
DeleteDear Jen, Thank you. I love what your Papa sai. Can you imagine how good spring is going to feel after this rough winter! Love, Henny
ReplyDeleteOops Jen. That is supposed to be "said". :)
