Chairs are blown around in the yard and the pier is under water again...oh, and limbs! It will take a while to push the wheelbarrow around the property, picking up sticks and limbs. That reminds me, Poppy complains occasionally that he can never find a stick on the ground when he needs one; that he has never seen anybody, except me, who feels like every little stick has to be picked up.
All fifteen guineas made it through the strong winds and heavy rain yesterday.
I was out early this morning, even before the guineas flew down. It was nice to look up and see fair skies and the stars and then the sun coming up.
Rosie was crying for her milk even before Poppy left for work, so I warmed her a bottle and carried it out. Will I ever be able to wean this little sweetie her from her bottle? Probably not.
Was that thunder!!! Dumperoo is a lot like me...he runs and hides when there loud scary noises! He was sitting in my lap last night and I just happened to have the camera in my hand.
Better get busy. As you know, I didn't get much done around here yesterday. Sure hope these tall trees can withstand the winds today. We are under a wind advisory even now. It's wild!!
Hope to be back soon.
Love,
Henny
So glad to know that you made it through those strong storms! Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know that you made it through those strong storms! Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know you are all alright! We heard about lots of damage down your way. I love the photo of Dumperoo!
ReplyDeleteWindy way up here last night, too. Who'd think we'd have the same weather so far away?
ReplyDeleteGlad everything is settling down now.
Glad to hear that everyone and everything is safe there.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everything is okay. We had a tornado touch down about 3 hours from me. We've wind gusts that have bent the trees almost in half but no damage. Poor Dumperoo's wide eyes! He does look scared.
ReplyDeleteGlad you survived unharmed, well except for all the extra work it has created, and that being hard on your back:(
ReplyDeleteso glad you, Dumperoo, Rosie and the whole gang got through the storm safely. Saw on TV the White House was surrounded by storms and wondered if you got the worst of it.
ReplyDeleteThought about you off and on through the day yesterday. The southern states really get hammered during tornado season. I wish I was there to love on Rosie. I would give her a bottle as long as she wanted it. Dumperoo reminds me it's time for us to get a cat. We are petless and I don't like it. Of course I don't like litter boxes either and we can't let a cat come and go where we live, has to be inside only. I love cats.
ReplyDeleteDear Henny, I thought of you today. I am pleased the storm did not give you to much trouble. I loved the photo of you and your mama in her kitchen. Your Ma looked so glamerous :) Hope you have a lovely quite evening. Best wishes x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are safe and that you didn't have any damage to property or critters.
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it through the storms ok, we mainly had wind and very little rain.
ReplyDeleteThat was some storm, wasn't it? And those winds today... whew! I'm ready for a nice quiet spring!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad that's over for you. Glad everyone is fine. Aww...sweet Dumperoo. So lovely. I really miss our beautiful tabby. :(
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am happy all is okay with you and the sweet animals of yours.
xx oo
Carla
Happy to hear that you and everyone are safely through the storms. That is the cutest little goat! And Dumperoo is a beautiful cat. We are back to cold again, but they say it may be warm by the middle of March-hope so!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are all safe on the farm!! Weather was crazy here too but thankfull no trees down. Rosie is getting big wow!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm late on the scene but like every one else I'm glad you didn't get hit any harder than you did.
ReplyDeleteYou need some lovely sunshiny days right about now.
I'm glad to hear that all is well.
ReplyDeleteI pick up a lot of sticks around here too.
Glad to hear you and the farm are safe. It's windy tonight and snowing like crazy here!!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up so was thrilled to hear no real damage was done to your little farm and that you are all safe. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSo glad all is well for you. Our winds were so strong that they blew the cover off the hoop house! Love your critter photos too. I miss my guineas.
ReplyDeleteI've only had one goat bottle baby, but weaning wasn't too bad. At about three months old I started diluting the milk, gradually increasing the water over the next two months. By the time it was almost all water they lost interest.
I am glad that you are okay! Sweet Rose will always be spoiled me thinks! And I wonder who spoils her!! Isn't that what animals are for! Nancy
ReplyDeleteI was glad to hear that you came through those storms in one piece. I checked the radar several times Wed. night and it looked like it was a pretty rough time for most of the east coast.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture of Dumperoo. He looks very sleek.
I can just see you feeing a bottle of warm milk to an old, cranky Rosie many years down the road.
Lovely photos ! Glad all are safe from the storms we made it ok to from our storms we had here ! Thanks for sharing , have a good weekend !
ReplyDeleteWe were driving in the wind and a big branch blew onto our car. Fortunately didn't break the windshield but it did leave a dent on the roof. Things are calm and sunny today, I hope in NC, too.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you and your furry and feathered babies are ok! Rosie is so cute! You might think this is silly but she reminds me of my black kitty Little Star. Little Star(aka as Tarzie or Starzie) had what I called a "poof tail", kinda like Rosie's tail with more fur. Somehow she was born with half a tail. But it was the most beautiful tail I've ever seen on a kitty! She's in kitty heaven now. Hope you don't have too much clean up! I guess the bottom line is all of you are safe!😊Take care!
