The snow storm

Well the snow storm has come and gone. It was not so bad. We enjoyed watching the big snow flakes fall. The snow fell most of Wednesday, 3 or 4 inches, then we had some sleet and freezing rain. As is usual in this part of North Carolina, the freezing temperatures don't stay around that long. It actually warmed up during the night on Wednesday. There was some melting yesterday, then another round of snow. Now today, Friday we have blue skies, sunshine and 51 degrees! A little of everything packed into three days! The power never went off, so we still don't know how good the generator works. Now that we have one, we will probably never need it!

Poppy took a few pictures with his camera. My new camera has not still arrived. The pictures Poppy took look almost like...well I don't know...like a drawing maybe. I think his pictures are special!

The snow is quickly melting.

Am I ever ready for spring! The first warm sunny day I just might put a quilt on a lounge chair in the full sun and bask there for hours. Can you imagine feeling the warm sun on your face and body? That's my plan!

Oh, one more! I happened by the kitchen window and look what I spotted...

He makes me laugh! Who would have thought Poppy would be the one swinging! He's a good sport!

Thank you for stopping by.

Love,
Henny Penny

  1. You're right Poppy's pictures aren't real sharp and in focus but because of that they look a lot like watercolors. There is a school of watercolor painters who do photo-realistic watercolors that look just like photographs. Well, Poppy is doing the reverse and it looks really nice.

You're lucky to have a husband who has a good sense of humor and who sees and catches the fun side of life when possible.

It's snowing like crazy here yet again. We'll only get about 3 or 4 inches and then a warm up to the mid-50's the end of next week (at least that's what they say!).

Glad you didn't have enough of that icy stuff to do any damage.

  4. Your snow looks pretty. We have too much for it to be "pretty" anymore. Green would be pretty!

  5. I say keep swinging as long as you can! Seeing those red cardinals at your feeder must be a delight. They are beautiful. We don't see many where I live. We do get blue jays which are brilliant and beautiful too. But you know the old story. The grass is always greener... :-)

  7. I'm glad you didn't get dumped on with too much snow or devastating ice. Many suffered that fate. Your snow is much like what happens here in Western Washington State.

  9. Happy to read it wasn't too much snow, and the generator's debut gets to save the day another time :)

  10. I love the bright spots cardinals bring. They love the dog food.

Stay warm. Our sun shined today, some snow left, more stayed.

    Have a great weekend.

  11. Hello Henny, Poppy is having a good time in that swing, I see! Also, don't you love the ever vigilant guineas, they are such watch dogs, even in the snow! I am so happy the snow is going away, so ready for spring - Terry
