Hard to believe the sky can be this beautiful, the day after a hurricane.
Poppy put up a corn feeder and a game camera on the far side of the pond so we can watch the deer. Look what the camera caught...a beautiful blue heron, in flight. I love it!
Now I feel bad putting up any fall decorations because of all the people whose homes are under water right now. It's awful, it's sad, and unbelievable to see the pictures on the news.
Anyhow, Walmart reduced their mums to $1.97 so I bought four pots. Here, finally, is my little fall creation...
Weetie said hold on a minute, so here's another one, with her...
and this next picture is just because I love hay!
Rosie is still a little pig...a sweet little pig.
I then carried a big arm load of the hay inside the chicken house to make it nice and dry, and comfortable, after all this rain. My goodness! What a wet nasty mess everything has been!
I've missed reading lots of your posts and will be catching up. Thankfully, we had our generator during the storm, but that didn't help with the phone and internet service.
Love,
Henny
Thank you for the update. Happy you are safe and well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo is of Weetie. Too Cute!!
I'm glad to hear you're okay. I can hardly imagine how much mess you have after getting 7 inches of rain, let alone those who fared worse. Love the picture of the Blue Heron taking off. And the one with Weetie posing so nicely in front of your lovely Mums. I should go see if our Walmart has marked down flowers and maybe find someone who can identify my mystery flower. Take care,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to read you are all ok. These hurricanes are terrifying. Hope things dry up quickly for you and things get back to normal.
ReplyDeleteThankful you are ok. The shot of the heron is superb! Great buy on the mums; looks so pretty. Weetie is a cutie pie. Glad you got some dry hay to make the animals more comfy. You two take care and have a restful night.
ReplyDeleteFeeling sorry for all our southern neighbors on the eastern shore. Hope everything gets back to normal very soon for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you and your house are OK. I figured you would have lots of rain, but not bear the brunt of the hurricane since you're north and west of the area where it went. Those rain bands go out so far from the center of the storm that places hundreds of miles away can still get flooded and have high winds. I imagine your pond is really full again. My heart goes out to everyone who lost their homes and possessions to Matthew. That heron is gorgeous and looks huge from this angle. Well, I know it is huge, but it looks even huger than huge, if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteThat blue heron picture is awesome. I'd love to be close enough to hug those two precious goats.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your okay and i feel bad for everyone else as well. We have to pray fir them.. Happy tuesday evening with love Janice
ReplyDeleteI bet you heaved a big sigh of relief when Matthew was finished. What you had was scary to lose power and 7 in of rain is far too much.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know you are all safe there on the Teeny Tiny Farm.
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to hear that you are all safe and well. Loved your little touch of Autumn with you display of mums. My heart goes out to all those affected by the Hurricane. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Henny, so glad to hear you are alright! Having been through a hurricane I know what you are going through.
ReplyDeleteYour Fall decorations are very pretty. The heron photo is incredible!
I love that photo of the blue heron . . . what a thrill! I see many beautiful wildlife photos in the future :) Your Mums are lovely. I also purchased some at Walmart but I got the small ones when they were 1.49. I planted them where the drip line runs. Next year they should be double or triple in size. I love having fall bloomer in the garden:)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day . . . I like hay, too LOL.
I'm glad to hear that your power has been restored. Your mums are so pretty! A wonderful price for those. What fun to watch the wild life from that camera. I'm glad you are okay.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came through the storm ok, things are starting to get back to normal here too, but boy it was scary.
ReplyDeleteThat sure was a lot of rain. Glad to hear you got through the storm and it is now passed.
ReplyDeleteWow great to see the heron taking off.
What a good price on the mums.
Good to hear that you and the animals are okay! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you came through relatively unscathed! So sad to see and read what some people are dealing with :-( We are getting a major storm system hitting tonight and on through the weekend, not looking forward to it at all!
ReplyDeleteHi Henny! Oh, the goats are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe mums are BIG! What a bargain.
I'm so glad you were/are safe.
Wonderful news Henny, I feared you had left the state and gone inland !
ReplyDeleteThose mums were surely a bargain, and so very pretty.
What a huge bird the blue heron is, I'd say he also likes to fish in your pond :)
The goats are happy chewing away, and sweet little Weetie, always good to see her....
Hugs,
~Jo
How scary, glad all is well and getting back to normal, that was an amazing picture with the heron xx
ReplyDeleteFirstly, thank goodness the universe smiled at you during the storm.
ReplyDeleteAnd secondly, what a wonderful blue heron shot. :)
I am glad everything if ok out your way! You just reminded me to get some hay stocked for winter. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
I am so happy that you all faired the storm. We did also. I was so happy we did not have any damage and no power outage. The lower end of the county got it a lot worse. I have prayers for all victims. Love your mum and sweet Weetie! Take care.
ReplyDeleteLove you bunches
It sure was a bad storm, wasn't it? Still so many w/out power (we have power here), and still so much flooding all over, and more to come it looks like as the rivers overflow. Love your pretty mums! And that is a great flying bird picture!

ReplyDeleteYour mums are so pretty and what a bargain! I'm glad the trees fell away from your house and you and all the animals are safe and sound. We still have one big one to get rid of but we will wait until the pros are more available. Once the generators quit, all we hear in the neighborhood are chain saws!
ReplyDeleteGlad you fared okay during the storm. The pictures on TV are so devastating. We do not have a generator. We don't have hurricanes here but can get tornadoes. Nancy
