Why it's hard...

getting from room to room in our house. Here's going from the living room down the hall to the bedrooms...

so you get what you need and turn around to go back...

I'm just hoping, as I step between feet and legs and over heads, that one of them don't jump up, throwing me head long into living room.

and try getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom...

and feel your way across this length of dog train.

Anyhow, going from the dining room into the living room, the only way through unless you go out the front door, around the house, and come in the back door...

and just try sitting in one of the living room chairs...

oh wait! I left out the teeny tiny sewing room...

and a few more feet to step over...

Smokey says he feels a little safer in a corner...

or way up high on the bed...

Poppy is always asking, why can't you dogs find some place to lay besides in a doorway?

How bout here? Is this better?

Oh, but it is all so worth it...like living with two big teddy bears and we wouldn't have it any other way.

I first posted about my ball of string way back in 2013...

and here it is today...

Dumb me for not measuring the ball so I could tell you just how much it has grown...but that's me! This is every string of every, well almost,  off every bag of animal feed we've open since 1989. Anyhow, it's so big I can hardly hold it in one hand and wrap another string with the other hand. Very interesting stuff, I'm sure. :)

Okay, I must move on. Have Line Dancing class at 2:00 today at the Senior Center. I haven't mentioned it to anyone...but friends, it's the most fun thing I've done in 30 year!

Sure appreciate your visiting!

Mrs. Orb Weaver

Hey dear friends,

What a different gardening season this has been. A few flowers, well three to be exact, finally came up...

Wasn't sure what they were, but turns out this striking orange bloom is the mexican sunflower.

The butterflies just love them and so do I. Finally! Fowers in my garden!

Grass had almost taken over the garden so I've been clearing out. Flowers and butterflies have a way of lifting my spirits...

Yep, wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow load hauled out. Even pulled up the green bean vines and the wattle fence, but still getting plenty of peppers. These are the Pablano...

Oh, and a special little visitor showed up in my garden...

Mrs. Orb Weaver, or the black and yellow garden spider. She didn't visit at all last summer.

Oh well, soon all the gardening will be done and we will be going into fall, then winter, just around the corner. Winter's good.

I came across this playhouse picture and thought, oh wow! How different it looks now.

and this is now...

What a difference! There is lots about winter I love. We need the winter months. Just thought it would be fun to post both pictures. But for the record...Put me down for summer. :)

Well, now that I've talked your ears off, I will say goodbye...oh, but do want to close with pictures of the succulents.

Remember the little $9.00 bag of cutting I ordered from Ebay a few months ago?

Thanks for looking!

Little Red Shed...Patty and the kittens

Hey friends,

Are you as excited as we are about the cold front coming down from up north? Why, they say this weekend the temps will be in the 80s with low humidity. Do you reckon it's true?

Speaking of the 80s, well the 1980s, shortly after moving into the cabin, we ordered a little storage shed...from Sears. We sure did. Put it together and several years ago, painted it red.

What a dandy little shed this has been, holding up through years of rain and wind and storms, even a hurricane or two.

Over the years the doors and along the bottom of the building became ragged and worn, enough so that a little mouse could find it's way in. Last week new doors were built and hung...

Poppy sealed every crack and crevice...I thought we would never get the painting finished, but we did...

Gosh, to me, it looks too clean around the building. I guess Poppy would have a fit if I set out a row of hostas. :(

Might as well show you how the back looks...

Anyhow, moving on to something really sweet and cute...

Remember my cousin Pat? Sure you do...The old cupboard that sits on our little porch??

Pat and her husband Mike both love cats. They recently lost their beloved cat Joey to kidney failure. Knowing how lost they would be, they put in an order for two Ragdoll kittens and last week were able to bring them home...

Oh my gosh! What an exciting day that must have been.

These Ragdoll kitties are brothers, born May 6th...

Meet Theodore (Teddy)...

and Beauregard (Beau)...

Oh, if only I could reach in and pick them up. Is there anything any more fun than playing with kittens...

So so adorable!  Pat and Mike might as well forget about getting anything done around the house...not with these two new babies to keep them busy.

Thank you Pat for sharing these pictures.

Guess that's about it for tonight. Hopefully when I publish this post the pictures will load. Been having trouble. Thank you friends.
