But Poppy and I too, felt better after reading all your "get well" wishes. Thank you very much...
Ellie is doing great and almost back to her old self. She just may eat us out of house and home before the doctors get her medications adjusted. She is on Prednisone and Fludrocort. It's the Prednisone! Dr. Davidson said Yes, Ellie has one goal right now and that is to find food. We think she has gained back the weight she lost and maybe a little extra. She goes back for more bloodwork on Monday.
Ellie was showered with attention last week at the vet's office. It was her first visit back for bloodwork after being hospitalized. Most of the staff came out to greet her with hugs and kisses and were pleased to see Ellie looking much better.
I hate to say anything but it's that time of the year again..."the snowball bush"!! When all the green blooms first came out Poppy said, Mel you've got to take a picture...
So many snowballs, the limbs will never support them, said Poppy.
So now they're turning white, but still not fully opened and no broken limbs, yet...
Seems the warmer weather is finally here to stay and it feels wonderful.
Miss Ducky hasn't been back on her nest since losing her two precious eggs but enjoys swimming on the pond these warm days...
and our early morning walk down Henny Penny Lane one day last week. The sky and clouds were just so pretty, to me anyhow...I could feel spring...
even looking out across the old cutover was pretty...
some mornings everything just feels beautiful, doesn't it?
Guess that about it for now. Mostly just wanted to say, "thank you friends"!
Love, Henny
A lovely snowball bush to go with the lovely Miss Ellie. I am sure you are relieved she is starting to recover. I hope the medications make her have a long life. Is it difficult to get pills in her? By food or just by hand and mouth? We have 80's here today with severe storms right behind. Then the cool back where it should be. Lynn
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn. Ellie is the best dog when it comes to taking pills. We laugh because she actually gets excited about pill time. I wrap her pill in a small piece of bread. When I tell her it is time for a pill she comes in the kitchen, sits down and lifts her paw to shake. I put the bread in the back of her mouth and she swallows. Then it turns into a game time. I say Ellie, did you swallow my pill!! She is so funny. Of course, those days we thought she wouldn't make it, pill time was hard.
DeleteWow, that snowball bush is showing out!! I remember my mom had one but I never did. Glad Ellie is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Latane.

Thank you Willie. Oh, I wonder what the real name is for a snowball bush. Glad you are getting some warmer weather.
DeleteAlso known as the Snowball Tree or Snowball Bush,
DeleteViburnum opulus Roseum is a vigorous deciduous shrub
is smothered with large, pompom-like clusters of white or
pale green tinted flowers every May and June which are
fragrant....Amen...!

I'm happy Ellie is better! Our goat neighbors have 3 dogs that look just like your dogs. They are very territorial, and don't like it when we work near the property border. We like having them patrol the fence line. They are huge dogs and so beautiful. Your area is pretty! We are still coming out of winter here-it's only mid forties today. But next week we have 70's coming! The peepers were out a bit-I love them. I love your duck too-sorry about her eggs. I remember the story about her a while ago...Happy Easter dear friend.
ReplyDeleteYour sweet post is FULL of soft, white, fluffy things!!! Ellie, the gorgeous snowball bush, Miss Ducky, and then those beautiful clouds! :) I'm so glad Ellie is feeling better. What a relief!
ReplyDeleteGood day Hennie! Hope your Easter was all you have wanted or wished for. Good to see Ellie girl on the mend, she looks just great. I hope she continues on a journey of improvement, she sure does have a family that is happy that she is mending! I believe that's a world record snowball bush, Hennie. No kiddin. What a beautiful sight! Maybe its a sign this will be a bountiful spring! Let's see what beautiful flowers and garden harvests come out of the little garden this year. As always, love and hugs, Terry
ReplyDeleteThat snowball bush is something else. Don't think I've ever seen one of those.
ReplyDeleteI'm wishing Ellie a speedy recovery. She's a beautiful dog. I love you snowball bush. Your photos are lovely.
ReplyDeletestopped in to see how Miss Ellie is doing.....hopefully much better!!!? That snowball bush is the most BEAUTIFUL ONE I'VE EVER SEEN, WOW!! LOVED the picture of the country road....we sure are on those country roads ALL THE time now, LOL
ReplyDeleteI hope Ellie is still doing well. I worry about her. Your snowball bush is taller than your house! It's beautiful. I don't see many of them any more; in my childhood it seemed there were lots of them around. I know this is a busy time of year for you with all the work you do outside. I love seeing the pictures of all your beautiful flowers and country views. I look out my windows and see trees in the back, but everywhere else is houses. But, as much as I love your countryside, I'm a city girl at heart. When we were young we used to go camping a lot to get a dose of nature. Hoping all is well on Henny Penny Lane.
ReplyDeleteHope everything is OK at your house, Henny. Hope to see you back here soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about Ellie's health struggles, I know only too well how much our dogs mean to us! We lost our Annie-girl back in March, and I am still grieving. I am thankful that the doctors were able to help Ellie! Your snowball bush is glorious! Spring is such a beautiful time of year! Loving hugs and blessings to you and Poppy and Ellie and Smoky :)
ReplyDeleteHope Ellie is doing much better. Love your snowball bushes. Absolutely beautiful
ReplyDeleteHi Henny! I'm worried about you.....but hope that all is well and you're just busy as a bee these days.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Ellie is doing better! 😀
