We said goodbye to our sweet, frail little Dumperoo last Tuesday. Dumper was always a sickly sort of kitty. He had good times and bad times. He recently went through a bad time and just didn't get any better.
It was fourteen years ago that Poppy came home from our local convenience site and said to me, "there was a little Tabby kitten sitting near the dumpster, he looked up at me and meowed".
"Oh Dan, let's go back and get him" I said. We did go back and there he was, sitting in the same spot. We brought him home. That's were he got the awful name of "Dumpster Kimball".
We mostly called him "Woo Woo" , "Dumperoo", or "Dumper". He was such a sweet kitty and was always in my lap, any time I found a minute to sit. Rest in peace sweet Dumper. We sure miss you.
Thank you dear friends for visiting.
Love, Henny
So sorry to hear about your kitty cat. Tabbies are special, aren't they? I'm sure he had a great life with you. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteOh, Henny, I'm so sorry too to hear about your loss. Dumperoo reminds me of a cat we had years back (Gigi). She was a gray/brown tabby too... and the sweetest thing. But Dumper enjoyed 14 good years with you thanks to you and Poppy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Henny for saving Dumperoo all those years ago. He could not have had a more loving and
ReplyDeletefriendly home. It is so sad to have a sweet pet leave us. Lynn and Precious
I love that you went back to get him. My condolences for your loss.

What a wonderful rescue story! Sweet ol' Poppy. I know Dumperoo had a wonderful life with you. We just rescued Leo from under our house. Have had a cat for nearly 30 years. He's a doll. I'm so sorry for your loss!
ReplyDeleteOh big tears as I read this today dear Henny. The hardest thing we have to learn when we bring all our furry friends into our lives, is to say Goodbye to them. Thinking of you Henny & sending love across the miles. Remember what a wonderful life little Dumpy had with you - how lucky he was the day Poppy found him. xx
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry - so sad! But Dumper had a great life while he lived with you and Poppy and all your other sweet animals.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. You Gave Dumperoo a good life and lots of love!
ReplyDeleteWell Dumperoo chose the right place to park himself and the right person to look up to. How wonderful that y'all went back and rescued him. He had a good long run and such nice people to live with. Tabbies have such sweet little faces, they are hard to resist. I know you must miss him a bunch.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your Dumperoo. It's so hard to say goodbye to our beloved pets. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteRIP .. Dumperoo

ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
Oh so sorry to hear you have lost your dumperoo. He was a beautiful kitty and sounds like he was an awesome pet. He was so blessed to be loved by you guys for fourteen years. We found an orange tabby in a dump one year too! I'm glad you had such big hearts to take in and make a great home for that kitty. God bless you both.
ReplyDeleteI found a kitten in similar circumstances and called it Oscar (as in Oscar the grouch). I later found out it was a girl but Oscar stuck!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, it's hard to let them go
Enjoyed hearing how your kitty was named. Bless him.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear you lost sweet Dumperoo, but so glad that you went back and got him. You and Poppy gave him a wonderful, wonderful life. Without you, who knows what would have happened to him. I know that you gave him love and he returned it to you. Rest in peace sweet kitty.

Betsy

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet Dumperoo - it's so hard to say goodbye to our sweet furbabies. Thank you for giving him a good home for so many years, Henny xo
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, but we all know that he had a wonderful home and plenty of love. You just never know what you might find dumpster diving :)
ReplyDeleteSo sad for you. I well know the feeling.💖
ReplyDeleteOh I certainly have been there friend. Our fur babies are for such a brief time on loan to us. Yet what they give for the little bit of love and attention far surpasses what we give to them. Have always believed that what we love in this life we will find on the other side in heaven. Nothing Biblical that supports the thought except the knowledge that love never ends. Take care friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. It's what we sign up for when we bring them home and into our hearts. Your dear kitty is with all the others you've loved and said goodbye to over the years. Peace be with you all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great life he lived when he found his forever parents..sounds like all of yall were very blessed to have crossed paths. I know yall will always miss him and have sweet memories. Very sorry for your Family's loss.
ReplyDeleteI am sad to hear that Dumperoo passed away, but what a wonderful life you gave him. He could not have found better. I have a sickly little cat, too, and the vets can never find what is wrong. But he enjoys his life, as your sweet kitty, did, too. You will see him again!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry Henny. The loss of a pet hits hard. He looks very comfortable in the photos, what a sweet story of how you saved him! ♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky kitty to find his home with you. So sorry he's gone. Love the name. Very different!
ReplyDeleteAwww...Dumperoo. What a big loss for you and Dan. He was a beautiful companion for so many years. He always reminded me of our dear Sierra. Rest in Peace little one. You were very much loved . xo
