Sounds like there should be a nursery rhyme in there somewhere, doesn't it?
Somehow all this reminded me of mama and how she loved the old nursery rhymes. A few years before she passed away, we found a pretty Mother Goose book in a thrift store. Mama bought it. We sure enjoyed looking at the pictures and reading the nursery rhymes.
My silly blog, as a matter fact, was kinda fashioned after the old nursery rhymes. (some of us never get past the age of 10, you know). :)
I remember when my daughter Lynn was setting up my blog she called and asked, "mama, what do you want on your blog...how do you want it to look?" "Well", I said, "a few nursery rhymes, some hens and baby chicks, and maybe a rooster". "What name do you want to go by", Lynn asked. "Ummm, how about Henny Penny". So now you know. :)
My blog really needs updating but I can't seem to get anything to work and Lynn is way too busy to bother with trivial things such as this.
I still haven't taken a picture of the garden, except this from our early morning walk...Poppy is in there somewhere. We were walking Eli and Ellie.
Well, I started this post a week ago then got busy with the garden and cleaning up the yard.
Thank you friends for stopping by. I loved your comments on my last post. Can't believe, even another follower. Sure appreciate you all.

ReplyDeleteThose bonnets are lovely, you do beautiful sewing. I'm sure you will sell many more.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the bonnets you've made, Henny! If I still had an active garden, I'd wear one in a heartbeat. We don't have a garden because there isn't enough sun where we live.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip to the wedding, and all congrats to the new couple!
Madison is just beautiful and so is her "almost" new husband! I thought my brothers were tall at 6'4" and 6'5". I guess not! Those bonnets are just adorable. I can see how they would sell very quickly. Are they adult or child size?
ReplyDeleteIt would be so hard to leave those sweet babies, Eli and Ellie. I would love to visit just to give them big hugs. They are so beautiful. Please don't change your blog. It's beautiful just the way it is and so are you. :-)
Blessings and love,
Betsy
Congratulations to the happy couple! I am sure your Madison will be a beautiful bride! What a fun day it will be for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely couple! I wish them all the happiness possible in their marriage. I hope you'll take pictures, Henny, and please be in some too.
ReplyDeleteThe bonnets you made are some of the loveliest you've ever made.
I like the way your blog looks but I know a person would like to change things around a bit. I don't have the knowledge to do mine either and I don't have anyone that can help me. But I do see some such pretty ones.
Have a safe trip to West Virginia!! XX GM

ReplyDeleteLovely photo of the new couple! I'm a West Virginian, and I think you and Poppy will be just fine visiting there. They are country folk :) Your bonnets are so beautiful - I'm not surprised ladies buy them. Here's to getting back to the old days!
ReplyDeleteAll the bonnets are lovely and I'm not surprised at all that they are good sellers.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a great time at the wedding and I wish much happiness to the new couple. :)
Your blog is perfect just the way it is and I enjoy every post. Our son is in Raleigh NC also and we are in WV. Have a great weekend celebrating the wedding!
ReplyDeleteDearest Henny, you are probably in WV now, but I hope you enjoy your trip and many blessings and much love sent to your sweet granddaughter and her fiance! Take care of yourself, and enjoy every minute! I'm sure Eli and Ellie will be so happy to see you on your return! Have a happy week Terry
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a good trip and congrats to your granddaughter! Your bonnets are pretty. I bought a bonnet once at an Amish store. For some reason, they are just so neat! Andrea
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely post. Looking forward to wedding pictures in your next post. What an attractive couple they make.
ReplyDeleteLove your bonnets.
My daughter, her friend and their daughters took a trip a couple of weeks ago through the Midwest to some of the literary museums like the LIttle House sites and the Betsy Tacy museum and they had those poke bonnets for the kids to try on and pose for photos on a small covered wagon. Brought back memories of the “real” poke bonnet that my great-grandmother wore outside, hanging behind the back door, faded from the sun and a bit tattered for years of use. I love seeing these “old” things still in use — what a history lesson!
ReplyDeleteThe bonnets are really beautiful and am happy to hear that they sell well. Have a wonderful time at your granddaughter's wedding and wish the couple the best.
ReplyDeleteEach time I see your bonnets, it reminds me of my grandmother. She always wore one outdoors. Wish I had asked for one of hers when I was young. A sweet looking couple and I wish for them a long happy life together.
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to catch up with you a bit. The bonnets looks so pretty, all lined up and perky. No wonder you sold four! I can tell Madison was a beautiful bride. What careers the two of them have ahead. You must be so proud!!
ReplyDeleteI can only comment as Anonymous for some reason. The last comment was mine — Cynthia.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Henny-I missed this post because my computer has been off and online-And I am not a computer whiz like my son-who fixed the problem! I love your comment on my blog about the turkey! I would not be able to give him up either! I hope you can post some pictures of him. I've always loved your bonnets-they are so perfectly done.
ReplyDeleteI bet Eli and Ellie were thrilled when you got home!
