Can you believe, as sorry as I have been, there are two new followers on my little side bar. Thank you very much!
Oh gosh, aren't the days busy! I'll have to show you how the teeny tiny garden is growing...
Got the little wattle fence built for the bean vines and bamboo poles for staking the tomatoes. Still got lots of growing to do. I love making a garden pretty...now if it will produce a few vegetables. That would be nice. :)
You'll never guess my latest addition to the "Old Motor Grader Road Museum"...
There it is, standing out like a sore thumb...a golf ball. Found it one morning last week while out walking Eli and Ellie. It was covered in red mud.
and while we're at the garden, might as well throw in a picture if the playhouse...again!
By the middle of May everything is dark green and growing like crazy. I love it!
Oh, the solid color dark purple Iris...I don't know if that is pollen or dust on the soft delicate petals...
and just as beautiful are the long stem Dutch Iris...(I think these are Dutch Iris)??
I'm boring you with all these pictures but wanted to show you how the chocolate vine is growing on the walls at the playhouse...
Okay, I will thank you now for stopping by and close with a few animal pictures.
"Wilder" still visits. At least, we hope he is Wilder. Poppy says this bunny is too tame not to be Wilder.
and here's Mr Smokey...
and Ellie...waits patiently on the porch while I am in the garden...
Eli was back there too, somewhere.
Love, Henny
Your garden is growing nicely!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks to be a nice size to me.. Mine is very tiny. I need a bigger one but still haven't tilled the ground for that. I love purple Iris, they smell just like grapes to me.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy seeing the progress of your gardens as the seasons change. Stunningly beautiful Iris, if only they would bloom a little longer. From the first time you introduced us to your Chocolate Vine climbing over your arbor, I have wanted one, but never see them in the garden centers.
ReplyDeleteThe sweetest little fur babies, they are so lucky to be a part of your home.
Hugs,
Jo
Everything is looking so lush at your place, Henny! Love the garden, love your playhouse.,......the irises are gorgeous....such a deep color! And always fun to see the beautiful animals around your place! I'm sure that's Wilder showing up again! Enjoy these beautiful days Henny! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteHey Diane. Thank you so much. Hope you are into warm spring weather now. Love you too!!
DeleteGarden season is such a busy time even with my little courtyard. It is neat how the bunny keeps coming back. I love Irises but took mine out as read the are poisonous to dogs and since Rosie is a puppy I didn't want to take a chance...Nancy
ReplyDeleteAhh, I love your playhouse. I can imagine sitting there with my knitting, rocking the day away. Your garden looks so neat and tidy and I'm sure will be producing before you know it. In order to plant anything here I would have to pull out a lot of plants and put a fence around whereever we planted because of the deer and rabbits in our yard. I'm not sure it would be worth it for just the two of us.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see Ellie and wish I could have seen sweet Eli too. They make your blog posts my friend. Beautiful, beautiufl!
Blessings,
Betsy
Oh, no! Not boring. Your posts and photos are never boring. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking beautiful (and never boring) now everything is getting growing. I grinned at your golf ball - yes, it does look a bit out of place doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Mxx

And Smokey looks lovely..Bless!x Wonder if Smokey and
Wilder have ever met..That would be interesting...! :O)
Best get on, just got back from town, mug of lemon tea
with honey, and off out and cut the grass out the back! :O).

Thank you Willie. Smokey and Wilder have met. Smokey just looks at him. Never bothers him. Maybe that is Tiger's golf ball?? :)
DeletePrecious and I truly enjoyed seeing Smokey all comfortable in belly up in the house. Glad to see that you're special rabbit has returned again. And no wonder with that wonderful garden that you have growing if he could get inside the fence he would be even happier. Lovely post I always enjoy seeing plants and flowers and better weather. We're finally having it up here too and I've got some irises that are making buds.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Farm tour..all of it..the color, the flowers, the animals and your presentation. Have a blessed rest of Spring and Summer 2022. Thanks for sharing such a pleasant post and your lives at the Farm. Give those big white furbabies a hug for me. :0)
ReplyDeleteYour purple iris is gorgeous! You are way ahead of me with your vegetable garden, but good for you having all your structure ready for growing plants! Have a great rest of your week. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI just love your little playhouse. Do you ever sit in your rocking chair and read? I surely would. Or sit and listen to the birds. Such a neat place to relax. Have a great weekend ahead. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteYour Smokey pic made me nostalgic for our Ghost. The 'missing them' never really goes away. It only takes a pic or something to bring back sweet memories. And I love all your pics. You capture the 'charm' of things. And I would think that is Wilder feeling comfortable around your place.
ReplyDeleteOh Henny, what lusciousness you have there with the pets and greenery! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful time of year there at Henny Penny Lane. I love your irises and, of course, your little playhouse.
ReplyDeleteI like looking at your playhouse. I wonder if you ever actually sit on that rocking chair. I imagine you working non-stop these busy May days. Your garden and all the potted plants are so lush and green!!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking just gorgeous! The lush colors of late Spring, early summer are just the best.
ReplyDeleteI love your playhouse too.
The iris looks like Siberian Iris to me. We have a bunch but they aren't ready to bloom yet.

So good to see your anumals again, and your very tidy garden.
ReplyDeleteYou have a sign! When did you get it? I love it! It looks so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is Victoria I can't seem to sign in with Google, it just takes me back to square one. Tried to figure out how to do it but their instructions might as well be in Swahili----can't make head nor tail of them. So it's Anonymous for me from now on.
Your garden looks weed free and great!! Hope you are enjoying summer!
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so neat and organized! I've always admired the way you make a wattle fence too. Every time I see your playhouse it looks so happy and inviting. It's so sweet that Wilder still comes around, but not really a surprise as all animals love you!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your garden and all the things around your wonderful yard. Your playhouse is just lovely. How cool that Wilder still comes back to visit!!
ReplyDeleteHi, I enjoy seeing your garden, it makes me smile. The playhouse is so fun, I like that rocking chair you have.
ReplyDeleteYour playhouse looks so wonderful dear Henny. I think I would want to just sit out there with my cuppa tea & enjoy all the beauty that there is. xx
ReplyDeleteHi HENNY- so good to see your Vegetable Patch coming along - should be great this Summer. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place you have. I loved the tour. I hope you are feeling good. Nice weather helps!
ReplyDeleteFixed! No, I didn't figure it out-------my son just came over and hit one little thing, typed my name in and it was alright. Makes me feel soooooo stupid! At least he is older than 9 or 10-----that would really be hard to take!
ReplyDeleteLooking mighty pretty, Henny! You and your hubby keep a tidy garden. I think everything just wants to grow beautifully for you!!!
ReplyDeleteNot boring at all. Love the little things that make life rich~
ReplyDeleteAlso, this is Lady Locust. Ugh! Thought I had the comment thing fixed (grumble grumble.)
