HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Before going out the door to finish the potting bench, I wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day.

It's been a long long time since Poppy gave me roses...

He got off work at 5:00 yesterday. I happened to see him walking from the truck toward the front door with one hand behind his back. Never dreaming it could be flowers, I opened the door and asked, what are you holding?

It was a surprise, for me!!
The silly picture is Poppy's fault...I just stopped to smell the roses!

Here's what I dashed out and got Poppy. He will be home today at 2:00...

I know! Who wants a store bought cake! But listen, we have a little country grocery store in town called Carlie C's. Their cakes are delicious, and this coconut/pineapple is Poppy's favorite.

I did add a few hearts and a little Valentine.

Better go. It is 1:45. Poppy will be here soon. Let me go prop up beside the cake. Maybe he will want to cut it. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Love,
Henny

  8. Henny, your roses are beautiful. I'd be happy, too, to get a coconut cake like that one. It looks wonderful to me. I hope your weather is good enough for you to be able to get outside; I know that's what you love to do. It's 61 degrees and sunny here in St. Louis today, but tomorrow should bring up to 4 inches of snow with a high of 29 degrees! I hope this doesn't reach you.

  16. Your red Roses are so beautiful and so are you, my friend. You so seldom appear in any pictures so it's a treat to see you. I know we're the same age but you look so much younger. Maybe all that hard work keeps you looking young.

  18. I'm at the back of the queue...AGAIN...! :).
Lets have a few funnies..off the top of me 'ead...

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue.
    I finally got a girlfriend,
    Now what do I do?

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue.
    Some poems rhyme,
    This one doesn't.

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue.
    I'm bad at gardening,
    And even worse at poetry.

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue.
    Faces like yours,
    Belong in the zoo.

    Roses are red,
    Here's something new.
    Violets are violet,
    They're not blue.
    (Sorry..best l can do)...

  24. Happy (late) Valentine's to you two love birds :) I'm so glad he snapped that photo of you - you don't often post photos of yourself, and I LOVE your long hair! Very pretty. I wanted Adam to "trim" my long hair the other day, and somehow he ended up cutting off about 5 -6". Yikes!
A coconut cake is so yummy, and from a local little store, I bet it's home made and fresh!
