Poppy comes home from hunting around lunchtime then goes back into woods around 3:00 and sits in the tree until 6:30. Eli and Weetie love to hear that four-wheeler coming up the road.
It is not often that a Virgo gets her facts mixed up and puts out a bunch of wrong information. Why Virgos are, after all, perfectionists! But I'm afraid this time it was me who screwed up.
To all my dear sweet Canadian blogging friends who asked me, "where in the world is Green Mountain Canada", well there may not be a Green Mountain Canada. Shelby and Jimmy, Pat and Mike were vacationing in Blue Mountain Canada.
When Shelby told me that it was Blue Mountain and not Green Mountain, I said well I'm pretty sure you said Green Mountain. Shelby said, no, I'm pretty sure I said Blue Mountain. We laughed and left it at that. Later going through papers on the bar, I saw my note scribbled when Shelby called before they left for Canada...it said, will be in Blue Mountain Ontario Canada. Oops! I apologize.
I have just about killed myself working again today. I cleaned the goat lot...an area in front of this little manger looking barn that was a foot deep in rotted hay, goat droppings, rich soil, and earthworms. Eight wheelbarrow loads I struggled to push up to the garden and empty.
Then I cleaned out and raked under the shelter where we park the mower and the four-wheeler and store the hay and stuff.
Poppy may be needing the computer. Hope to be back soon. The bed will feel mighty good tonight.
Love,
Henny
I need to clean our little barn, goat yard, and hen house, but that sounds like too much work and I'm not wanting to do it! Guess I better plan to get it done. It's not like the animals are going to do it!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace.
To be fair, green mountain makes more sense. After all, trees are green, not blue!
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of stuff to keep you busy but you wouldn't miss it for anything as you get so much satisfaction from it.
ReplyDeleteYour are to be admired you are always so busy. Eli is looking gorgeous as always.
ReplyDeleteGreen mountain makes more sense and I'm sure that's where your Virgo logic went with the name. The garden is going to love that stuff the goats prepared for it! Now you just need a little cart for the goats to do ALL the work and deliver it right to the garden!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture of three of your favorite people.
ReplyDeleteThis post reminded me of a bunch of pictures of giant dogs that I found on the internet last night
. Eli looks ENORMOUS on that swing with Poppy. And very, very cuddly.
I need to clean the goat barn myself... maybe I will tackled that today. We have a broody bantam that I have decided to let have a few bantam eggs. I am a gluten for punishment lol I said I wasn't going to have more then the number of chickens we have now. That I would keep myself reeled in LOL... but just a few more bantams would be ok right. :O)... I love the picture of Eli on the swing LOL I am surprised he didn't dump everyone else off it getting up there rofl... Keeper is so heavy at this point (not fat just heavy) he can bump into me and nearly knock me down and he isn't even pushing he is just so big and so heavy. LOL It has taken him a lot longer to fully fill out I guess due to this rough start in life. But he has surely filled out this last year! He turns 4 this month! So he grew in his third year of life.. What a ham he is.. I see that in your Eli face and eyes as well LOL...
ReplyDeleteWell green and blue area very close together on the color wheel so we will give you a pass on this one.
ReplyDeleteJust this once though no more infractions :o)
All that cleaning surely should improve the soil in you teeny tiny garden. But wow what a job. You should try to intersperse the heavy lifting jobs with less strenuous tasks. Although I know that once a person gets up a head of steam it's hard to stop and then start again another day.
Do you work for hire? I sure could use some of your energy around here, LOL. I've been down in the back the last few days, so I'm getting behind on my to-do-list. It's hard to work when you are babying your back . . . I sure don't want it slipping out away. I had no idea that your white dog was that big . . . what a beautiful creature.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and don't work too hard.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
Maybe you are color challenged! You have been busy...Eli looks so pretty on the swing with Poppy and Weetie:)
ReplyDeleteHa, now if it had been Pink Mountain, I know where that is! I just feel this incredible urge to snuggle into all that white fur...... Wow, you are a busy woman, but such a sense of accomplishment after, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteYou work to hard for a retired person. How is the new bunny doing?
ReplyDeleteLove you
I was wondering if you meant Blue Mountain. No harm!
ReplyDeleteAnother very busy day for you. Take care of yourself and have a wonderful weekend!
Can't help but love Eli! Do you brush him every day? Me thinks you work too hard!!! Nancy

ReplyDeleteI'll bet it's early to bed for you tonight after all that shoveling and raking. I'm envious of all that great 'compost' though. Stuff will have no choice but to do well in that next summer.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is fabulous! Oh my gosh, that mus be a strong swing - that is one big dog! And thank you so much, Henny, for your kind words on our loss today of our sweet Mr. J. He was such a good boy. I don't think it has sunk in yet that he won't be here when I get up tomorrow morning. Thank you again... Donna
ReplyDeleteEli is such a BIG boy! Don't worry, I get things messed up too...all the time. It's my signature trademark nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI had to show my husband Eli's picture sitting sideways on the swing. He doesn't look like he likes to share.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. Mama, no matter who mixed up the words, I do it all the time! Whew. But Red, Green, Yellow, Blue... You did get Mountain right! Love you!!! Your girl.
