Good grief! That door really needs painting. Anyhow, not much planned here for Christmas this year. In fact, we have nothing planned. Guess it will be just Poppy and me.
This is the first year ever that I didn't put up a tree in the living room. I did, however, put up a small tree on the teeny tiny front porch...
It's hard to get good pictures. The porch is small, and I can't back up far enough. :)
Poppy cut a big cedar limb, that needed to be cut anyway. It grew out over the dam and got in the way of his mowing. Anyhow, I had a big No. 2 tub of green cedar to use for decorating...
My friend Karen made the pretty Christmas pillows and gave them to me. I love them!
And here's the old cupboard filled with cedar that doesn't show up too well...
Oh my gosh, I left my dusting rag in the chair! We did get another Santa poster for the big old barnwood frame. A windstorm year before last ripped the old one into pieces.
That's about it for outside. Let's go in, I'll show you my pretty polished red delicious apples...
It just wouldn't be Christmas without them. I buy a two or three every time I go to the store...I've eaten one almost every day in December. Reminds me of Christmases long ago when we got a red delicious apple in our stocking.
and I bought a small Poinsettia for the table...
So, this is my little Christmas post for December 2025. I mostly wanted to wish all of you a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Thank you for putting up with me for another year.
I love you and appreciate you dear friends.
Henny
I hope you have a very merry Christmas even without specific plans. Sometimes it’s nice to just keep it simple! - Jenn

Merry Christmas to you and YOUR Poppie from me and MY Poppie :) We're also having a quiet Christmas at home. Our daughter who is local will probably be here with us, but We Are Not Traveling ... which is rare for us. We need the rest so much. Just not up to a big trip this year! I've talked to several friends of our age who are doing the same this year. Much needed! Enjoy your quiet time this week surrounded by the beauty of the decorations and the peace of the Christmas gospel!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Henny! Hope you and Poppy and all the fur babies in and out have a wonderful holiday. Sorry to see the girls and grand kiddies may not be there. Hopefully later on. Beautiful pillows, what a kind gift. Lynn and Precious
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Henny! Do the bunnies, dogs, cat, etc. get special treats for Christmas? Our Christmas will be quiet this year too... kids came up last weekend, so no need to travel during holiday traffic. We will all talk Christmas day. BTW, apples are my favorite fruit... and I'm not a big fruit eater... but we buy apples every week.
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are charming, Henny! We wouldn't have put up a tree this Christmas, but since the grands will be here the day after for a week, we simply had to. May you have a blessed Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, I love, love the decorations. I love all the red. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove, Carla
Thank you for showing us the simple beauty of your decorations, and of your life through the years.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you and Poppy!! I like your touches of red in the kitchen 💗.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Christmas setting you have there! We set up a lot of decor on our porch this year, but had to get a dumpster rental to clear everything off first. It was a project. But so worth it, I just love how everything looks now. Yours looks amazing. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThose apples sure look nice and shiny and 'delicious'. A very Merry Christmas to you your family. Good health and happiness in the coming year.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes were so happy to see everything and the overall fun vibes that had you not said anything about the dusty rag, my eye wouldn't have known it. If that makes sense. LOVE the Christmas pillows. And the small tree. We have a small tree and then a taller smaller one. I like that. Simple, fun and festive.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful rest of the holiday season and a kickbutt good 2026.
I love seeing your home so invitingly Christmasy. Mine is still in the throes of remodeling. But just maybe, the end is in sight for that!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you all, Henny. God bless.

Merry Christmas a day late but still sincere…enjoy and thanks for the sweet post. Best wishes, Virginia
ReplyDeleteA belated Merry Christmas to you and your husband and all the furs and feathers. I love your decorating-it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteYour home is lovely as always. I hope you Christmas was merry and that you have a wonderful new year. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful (dust rag and all!) Happy New Year to you and your family, Henny!
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful porch Henny and thank you so much for your Christmas card. We got home late, late Saturday night, just an hour before a winter storm arrived with ice/snow/wind and -9F temperatures. I was very happy that the plane landed safely BEFORE the storm hit. It was fun in London visiting our son and family, especially the 3 year old granddaughter, but it's very good to be home in our own bed too. The camper feels like home too so it never bothers us to be gone for weeks on end with it, but flying exhausts me.
ReplyDeleteOur Christmas was wonderful with them though and we experienced our first Boxing Day which was great. How was your day? Wonderful I hope.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
All your Christmas decorations are so beautiful. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLost track of you when my PC died. Trying to catch up on old post. Hickory nuts post reminded me of something. A friend gifted me with a bag of hickory nuts. I put them in an old wooden bowl on the coffee table. Well……..snuggled up, I was, feeling all cozy. I kept hearing a rat-a-tat-tat. There were worms in the nuts and they were dancing. happy New Year. SC girl.
ReplyDeleteHenny, your Christmas porch and little tree sound so cozy, it’s the little touches, like the polished apples and cedar decorations, that make it truly feel like the season. I especially love the memory of red delicious apples in stockings; it really brings the nostalgia to life.
ReplyDeleteI just shared a new post myself and would be delighted if you stopped by to take a look.
