Thank goodness for daffodils that bloom while we are waiting for spring weather...
and thank goodness for blogging friends!
Thank you so much for the comments on my chicken post. That was a pleasant surprise. So glad I didn't lose you all over that bunch of chickens. Even came through it all with two new followers, Alison and Faith. Thank you!
The late afternoon sun shines through the little sewing room window...
it was just so bright and warm, I could not resist taking a picture...
and most days there is a kitty cat napping there. I do see signs of one having been there.
and speaking of the sun...
it made the delicate blooms on this Ash tree look like ice.
Guess I had better end this. It's about bedtime. We have to get up at 4:00 tomorrow morning. Poppy works at Food Lion.
Love,
Henny
Your sun in the sewing room photo is gorgeous! It's daffodil time here too. They are sunshine in flower form.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. Oh, that is so true about daffodils.
DeleteYour sewing room is so sweet and comfortable looking! I could spend hours in there just day dreaming away.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon.
DeleteThe beautiful daffodils and the sun pouring in the sewing room window just look like pure happiness! Enjoy your Spring weather and all the new growth on your farm. It seems like we've waited forever for winter to leave us this year.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bonnie. It has seemed like forever, and I can't believe all the snow some folks still have. Of, course, it is still March. I get in too big of a hurry. :)
DeleteOh those gorgeous Daffodils!! So far I have only a few scraggly ones blooming.
ReplyDeleteAfter getting up at 4 you'll have to have a nap in the afternoon!!
Thank you Granny Marigold. I know you must have lots of beautiful blooms around your home. I probably will fall asleep somewhere this afternoon.
DeleteWell..HeHe! You can't beat a nice chicken..

Just got back from town..trying to think of
Deletea song..about Sunshine...Ah! Oh! Yes!
Ain’t No Sunshine...Bill Withers..1971..
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
It's not warm when she's away
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And she's always gone too long
Anytime she goes away
Wonder this time where she's gone
Wonder if she's gone to stay
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away..
And it's on uTube...

Thank you Willie. I was looking for you to come back. I do remember that song. Pheasants are pretty, aren't they? Wonder if pheasants would get along good with chickens?
DeletePheasants are naturally free roaming game birds.
DeleteThe problem with this is that they can fly a lot
higher than chickens, and are frequently wooed away
by wild pheasants. ...
Getting your pheasants as youngsters will help you tame
them so they will be easier to house every night....
Hi Henny. Pleased you posted part of your Cottage - it all does look so homely with plenty of charm and character. Nice Daffodils...very natural growth. Regards. KEV.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kev. It's a teeny tiny home, it is pretty cozy.
DeleteThe sun shining into your sewing room is a delight, what a delightful home you have.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteYour sewing room is so pretty especially with the sunlight flooding in.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring ~ FlowerLady
Thank you Lorraine. The sunshine sure makes things prettier.
DeleteHe's working at Food Lion? I thought he was retired! He is a busy fellow!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright sunlight on your white bed spread. So pretty. it's been cheering to see so much sun this past week. I had missed it!
Hey MK. Yes, he retired, sorta, but still works two days a week, occasionally three. I appreciate your comment about the chickens, and glad to hear how Adam built your chicken house. We just started building with no plans in mind. I wish now we had done a better job. At least, put a floor in. I will never talk Dan into building a new house. He keeps asking why we can't stop adding on and just maintain. What fun would that be? :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful room, so inviting and cozy. Daffodils? You have them blooming already, oh they are beauties. You are in NC, I in Ohio, we are still pretty cold here, soon our landscape will be filled with the scents and sights of Spring. I was originally and for years Crochet by the Sea, I changed it eventually when it came to me, that line is in the poem by Oliver Wendell Holmes, and it becomes a rose by and by. You really can make this bread, even if you are not a seasoned bread maker, this is doable. It is just the way you see in the post, it is a no frills bread, crunchy and crackly, with holes and all. Today I am making Amish White Bread, a little more work, with a different type of finished product. I appreciate you stopping to make a comment. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Faith. Yes, it will soon be spring for all of us. Thankfully! I do remember the name Crochet by the Sea, but don't think I followed you then. I will find that poem and read it, and also will look back at your bread recipe. It sounds delicious!
DeleteHenny I love your sewing room...so pretty. I am sure you enjoy being in there working. Have a wonderful start to your week. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. Hope you have wonderful week too.
DeleteLove your daffodils. Your sewing room looks like a guest room! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. The sewing room is the guest room too. I have to put away a bunch of stuff when someone comes to spend the night. :)
DeleteThank you Sandra. I understand about seeing the snakes. Snakes are just no fun to look at. Once I've seen a snake in the yard or chicken house, the rest of the day I feel like there are snakes all around. I watch everywhere I step.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra.
DeleteThat reminds me of my bedroom off the kitchen in our old farm house when I was a kid. The sun slanted through the window in the afternoon and it was a bright, warm spot to come home to. I usually flopped on my bed and did my homework while the sun lit the room...because at 5:30 sharp we went to the barn and did the milking.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my Easter blog. My way to return email comments got screwed up for part of the day. SOOOO Thanks for the visit and the comment. xo Diana
Oh, I just love the photos of the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteLove to you my friend,
Carla
Nice daffodils
ReplyDeleteHooray for sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI like your bedroom. It looks peaceful and calm!
Those daffodils are a welcome sight. Looking forward to seeing them bloom here next month.
ReplyDeleteSo nice seeing that bit of sunshine coming through your window.
I can't wait to see daffodils...and love that view of your sewing room. Forever I only had sewing machines in the basement. then a few years after the kids were gone, I set up some sewing in my dining room...it takes over a lot of the time. I just love being able to see out the window! Now I still quilt in the basement...and once I am down there, I am okay, but I just have to force myself to go down there.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are having beautiful days, again, to share these gorgeous photos with us. I am enamored by that bedroom in the sunlight. Wish I was the lucky cat who naps there, it is perfectly lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pictures of the sun shining in on the sewing room. Such an inviting scene. xo
ReplyDeleteThat sunshine is glorious, Henny, and oh the daffodils!!! I am so ready for spring - bring it on!
ReplyDeleteSunshine and daffodils what a lovely way to welcome Spring! Last fall I planted a small sack of daffodil bulbs out in what we call our meadow. They are just starting to peek through the ground. They will be a welcoming sight for sure. Your bedroom looks so bright and comfortable, if I were a cat or a human it would be my choice spot for an afternoon nap, too.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, sweet friend and thank you for your prayers.
Connie :)
