Hey friends. Had planned to throw this old arbor away then thought about the playhouse...what a perfect spot for the wild red honeysuckle to grow...
funny how junk and broken items can add so much to a playhouse/potting shed.
Oh, would you mind terribly if I post just a few more yard pictures? Thank goodness for blogging friends.
I mean, here's the hottest pink azalea blooming in front of Poppy's shop...
and guess who lugged these huge heavy rocks and placed them here to cover the brick edging??
I cautioned Poppy to be careful and not step on the young tender hostas. "I didn't want hostas planted in front of my shop anyway", he said. Oops! The plain old brown shop needed something. :)
So I had been working in the teeny tiny garden, came back to the house and as I rounded the corner thought, oh my gosh! This huge azalea spilling downhill is so pretty, just had to have one more picture...
and the Iris have started blooming. Be still my heart!
and if that's not enough...the red azalea growing between the two white azaleas is the brightest red ever...
and in the background, the yellow water Iris. Okay, enough is enough. Thank you for looking.
Here's a look through the garden gate into the teeny tiny garden...
Not much to see yet. That big green plant is horseradish. It refuses to leave. Last year, before breaking my wrist, I dug and dug and dug and thought it was completely gone...but not so. Guess the roots are here to stay!
I'll leave you with a picture of Eli and Ellie, our two livestock gardian dogs :) relaxing in the goat lot......
Thank you dear friends.
Love, Henny
Oh, your yard is bloomin' beautiful, and your garden is so tidy! Those guard dogs are pretty wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with lots of pictures of beautiful blooming bushes and plants. Love them all.
ReplyDeleteHere trees are just getting a bit of green haze on them and my apple tree is blooming. And of course it is to be
28 Wed. night. There goes the apples. Will the hostas win out at Poppy's workshop? Hope so. Hummers love the
flowers on them and here the deer think of hostas as ready-mix salad.
It Henny, it's gorgeous in your yard. I saw some daffodils blooming in the cemetery a couple of days ago but nothing around our house yet. So I'll just have to enoy what you're seeing. The puppies are so sweeet, as always. I love to see them togehter. You can tell they're buddies.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I've always loved the many ways you find to fix up the playhouse! Everything you add makes it that much more special. Your azaleas are all gorgeous! I always enjoy seeing your water iris too. You just have a little piece of heaven there! Your livestock guard dogs are the best! Enjoy the beauty around you Henny and thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are lovely, Henny. Be safe and God bless.
ReplyDeleteYour little playhouse is getting prettier everytime I see it, I know you love spending time in there.
ReplyDeleteThose Azaleas are stunning, I only wish the blooms lasted a little longer.
How I love your doggies, big snuggle bears !
Hugs,
Jo
Your garden stuff is well advanced so that you've got lots of color.
ReplyDeleteWow Henny! You're back already and with more amazing pictures! I can't believe all the color in your yard! It's just gorgeous! I can't decide which flowers I love the most. They are all so beautiful. Lucky you. Thanks for another glimpse at such a beautiful place! Love you Henny! good news....our lake is now 1/3rd open water finally! The rest is still ice!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane. So glad the ice is melting on your lake. So when you're enjoying warm spring weather we will probably be in the hot humid 90s. Ir was 86 here yesterday. Love you too!
DeleteThose azaleas are just amazing. They are so BIG. Things here are coming up like crazy after a few days of warm weather. This week though we are back in the low to mid 50's. Yesterday it got up to 80 and I was out in shorts and a tank top and today I was wearing a sweater and a windbreaker----down to just a sweatshirt by afternoon.
ReplyDeleteYour place is looking just beautiful!
Thank you Victoria. We've been through that crazy up and down weather too. That's funny, going from a tank top to windbreaker. Can't wait to see pictures of your amazing yard. It is bound to be breathtaking this spring.
DeleteWhat a beautiful paradise you have! Thank you for sharing the lovely blooming azaleas. Your dogs are really pretty! Keep posting pictures! I love to share in the beauty of your beautiful Spring!
ReplyDeleteOh Sandy! Hey! Thank you for leaving a comment. Sure is fun having something to post about for a change. Like most folks, I love spring and all the flowers.
DeleteThere can never be too many pictures of lovely blooms. The azaleas are unbelievable and your Iris are already blooming!!!! We're a couple of weeks behind you. May and June are going to be so pretty. It's hard to believe almost 4 months of the year have already passed. Time goes by too quickly.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
Henny! You can post as many photos of your yard

Thank you Willie. You know, I meant to say in my post, "this pink azalea is especially for you Willie" and it went right out of my mind. Anyhow, it's for you!! :)
DeleteAh! Bless! Thankyou Henny! It's lovely, wish it was
Deletein my garden...! :O).
Oh those iris!! Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Henny how beautiful everything looks!! I LOVE azaleas and have tried them more than once but they do not like me in the least. I put two new varieties in back in spring 2020 and it appears they have both died, uggghhh. I really have to give up on them!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I can't get over your azaleas, they are outstanding :) I love seeing the photos of your garden.
ReplyDeleteGosh your azaleas are so vibrant & vivid in their colours dear Henny - I love them. I have a couple but mine are not the size of yours & the colours are nowhere near as vibrant. Such a lovely time of year in your part of the world. xx
ReplyDeleteMiss Henny it's all so lovely. Thank you for sharing your gardens.
ReplyDeleteI
I love those bright azaleas. To me, they are the very essence of spring and always bring a smile to my face :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Your azaleas are stunning this year! I agree about iris -- so elegant. I cut some for church.
ReplyDeleteOur rooster was killed, probably by a hawk. I loved Roo Roo. I look at your wonderful guard dogs and think ... hmm. But we don't have an arrangement that works well for outside dogs. Oh well. Eli and Ellie are so handsome!
I am SO envious of your big rocks!! We don't have rocks out here. Not even little rocks! We do have seashells in the dirt, and as the chickens scratch up their pen dirt, the sea shells come up :)
Take care! Much love.
Everything is beautiful. "God's Coloring Book". Your Irises are beautiful and now I am wondering..I just bought some bulbs from Lowes for planting some myself...but hope I am not too late. Thanks for posting ..the rocks look great surrounding the pink...can't believe you moved them..yikes. :0) ... Enjoy the Season with those beautiful furbabies.
ReplyDeleteSpring seems especially beautiful this year, Henny! Maybe it was all the wild winds and storms, but I am surely glad to see it! Your yard is spectacular, can't wait to see the garden come into its own! Love you
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so springY around your place. Beautiful..
ReplyDeleteYour yard and home place are so beautiful, I love seeing it. You keep it so well tended. We have horseradish growing in our ditch. I tried transplanting some, thinking it may like a nicer spot. It never grew. But still loves the ditch!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing it all...that pink one though....oh, my, it is gorgeous! My purple and white irises have bloomed and I have not even shown a picture of them. Should take some of my pink dogwood, too, not that it is in full bloom.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you are feeling better...
What a beautiful post.

Wow! Your flowers are just gorgeous. I love the wild honeysuckle on the arbor and the irises, too. Everything seems to be blooming at once in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet friend I could never get tired of seeing your beautiful flowers. Is not spring the most exciting time of all?? Your azaleas are just gorgeous. Mine just opened fully yesterday. It will be a bit before the Irises bloom here and am I every jealous - you have your garden all ready for planting. Hmm maybe you will help me get mine ready! The arbor with the honeysuckle climbing makes the perfect show. Well have a great week and hug Ellie and Eli - what gorgeous dogs!
