Dearest friends,
Miss Ellie...
with a set of kitty cat ears in the picture. I haven't posted nearly enough pictures of Ellie. Gosh, back when Eli came home with us it was a full time job taking pictures of every cute move he made.
But with Ellie, it's different. She was almost four months old when we brought her home and already out of that cute, sweet, adorable eight week old ball of fur stage.
Oh she is still adorable, but more into the lanky, long-legged stage...She looks the same in all her pictures...
Her favorite toy is a sock rolled into a ball. Ellie is a very smart dog...she is housebroken! Totally! She goes to the front door, scratches, and then sits and stares until one of us walks her outside.
Eli still hasn't taken to Ellie like we hoped he would. Oh he tolerates her but only for short periods of time. Ellie's wagging tail swatting him across the face and too many wet kisses and Eli is ready to take a nap on the back porch...alone. The vet thinks it's the big age difference.
Guess who is not at all impressed with a new dog in the house!
Well, that's my post for tonight. Thank you Savannah for requesting Ellie pictures. Thank you all for visiting.
Love,
Henny
So nice to see the Ellie pictures! She is a cutie even if she's getting into that teenage awkward stage! Maybe it will just take more time for Eli to love her....maybe when she quiets down more and quits picking on him!!! :) How is Smokey doing with the two big dogs in the house? You can't force friendship or love, it needs time to grow. I'm guessing things will work out just fine in time. Thanks for coming back so soon! Take good care.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable pictures of Ellie! I also enjoyed the pictures of Dumperoo! Hopefully with time all of them will be great friends.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet photos of Ellie. She looks like a lovable ball of fluff to me and housebroken is wonderful. We adopted our Chloe girl from a rescue group and they estimated her to be about two years when we got her based on how long they had her and how long she was with different vets having surgeries. She was housebroken too and it was wonderful. The first puppy I didn't have to train.
ReplyDeleteGosh we miss her so much. I'm glad Eli and Ellie have each other and I hope they will become fast friends. Love the cat ears in the photo. Maybe he'll also come to love her.
Blessings,
Betsy
I can see Dumperoo is certainly not impressed with a large puppy. However Ellie looks like an adorable puppy. Maybe once she's not quite so playful Eli will get along with her a lot better. Good pictures thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Love the cat pictures in this post.
ReplyDeleteAh! That's ALL very lovely, that's the pleasure
ReplyDeleteof having cats and dogs, watching them grow and
how they get on with each other, you'll probably
find as Eli gets older, Eli will adapt and get
on with her a lot better..Who knows?
As for the cats, they'll always be number one!
A cat will usually dominate a dog..! HeHe! Bless!x
I was just thinking..we've had pics of cats, the dogs,
perhaps a few photos of Poppy..??? HeHe! If he's awake
that is..! :O).

She is so cute. I know from my Daughters cats, that is does take time to welcome a new member to the family.
ReplyDeleteJust like real siblings...lol!
ReplyDeleteHa.. so true when we bring a new family member home, four legged or two legged. I remember when we brought my second son home, Sam our oldest would have nothing to do with Atticus. He did not like him at all. Thank goodness they became the best of friends and are still very close today.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the photos.
I love the cat’s reaction to ANOTHER dog in the family. I can just hear what he would say if he could talk. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe's such a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteEllie sure is cute. They just need more time, I'm sure they will eventually adjust.
ReplyDeleteI love that grumpy look... boy, do I remember those. Cats make no bones about showing how they feel. But Ellie is adorable. And yes, age does make a difference... but sometimes the difference will bring out the playfulness in the older animal... or if nothing else, amusement.
ReplyDeleteI love the grumpy cat photo. Our daughter has a cat with that same coloring, his name is Oliver and he gives their other cat Lucy, the same look!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of sweet Ellie. My son and DIL (downstairs) just rescued a third cat and the first two would dearly like to be friends but the new one wants nothing to do with them. She's quite the "hisser". It's only been a week so we're all hoping for peaceful times ahead.
ReplyDeleteEllie is such a pretty and sweet dog . . . what would we do without our sweet fur babies. They are so much company and such loving companions.
ReplyDeleteAwww how sweet!
ReplyDeleteHere too!! crazy weather,, got lots of rain,, but then a sudden burst of sun and heat.. so,, we are liking the warm weather,, but,, we are about 2-3" shy of the normal rain for here in E. Washington.. so our hay is not growing tall ,, going to be a late hay harvest this year..
ReplyDeleteYour fur kids are so sweet.. and silly.. My Iris's are just now starting to bloom as are my roses..
Enjoy you blooms and garden and those sill 4-legged kids..
Greeting from way over here.
Stay Safe and Healthy.
Ellie sure is a beautiful girl! Cats definitely don't take well to other animals invading their space, they only tolerate them, ha! Always a circus with animals, they are so entertaining! And full of personality! I hope you are having a wonderful day, enjoy the weekend!
