You know what? I did not buy one thing at Vintage Market Days in Raleigh. Not one thing!
But! As soon as we were back in the car to drive home, it was clear as a bell to me, what I wanted to buy. It was a framed print of a cow. $40.00 but that's what I wanted. Andee saw it first and she loved it too. Oh well.
Andee was fine but I may have been just a little overwhelmed. It was huge!! Never seen so many women in one place in all my life! However there was one handsome man milling around amongst the women ...
Back to the show...How could I have picked out and bought myself an item when there were a bazillion, all my favorite kind of things, to choose from.
Why there was one booth with nothing but vintage aprons and tablecloths; those sort of things. Here's Andee, saying "mom, you could make these"!
and these...
From my pictures the place doesn't look busy at all, but it really was. Actually, it was hard to get inside the booths to look.
Well, I'm in the middle of cleaning again. Better get back to it. Poppy will be home at 2:00. That will throw a wrench into the works. :)
Love,
Henny
Not even 1 apron??? Those are great! Hope it was fun even if overwhelming. (I too get overwhelmed w/ lots of sites and people.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us tag along with you and Andee. Those aprons are beautiful, but yes, I agree with Andee, you could make them . . . you are the apron queen :) I have never seen a more lovely Santa . . . I know you had a great day and made some sweet memories with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you both.
Connie :)
Henny, I think you are a beauty. I thought that was you with Santa. Every time I see aprons I think of my late MIL. She wore them all the time. I miss her too. Hope you get a cow picture fro Christmas. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI bought a cow picture from Amazon. It was exactly like one I saw in a shop but much cheaper! So check Amazon. Andee is beautiful and from the few pictures I've seen of you, she looks just like you which makes you beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteI want the green truck. HA! HA!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun day. Too bad it was so crowded. I don't like to have to squeeze into overcrowded booths, but I guess that is the sign of popular items. Your daughter is adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend an afternoon. I would love to shop there. I get overwhelmed too when there's too much to choose from. I would have gone home empty handed too.

Looks like fun. Wow, you didn't buy a thing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not crazy about having my picture taken either!!
That's a perfect Santa there.
ReplyDeleteMama, I can’t believe I didn’t buy anything either! But, that’s okay. The best part was spending the day with you! I’ll keep a look out for another cow picture for you. I Love You
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect Santa for a vintage show. But I wanted to see more!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I love that truck and the vintage Santa. Wish you had bought that cow though!
ReplyDeleteI get overwhelmed by too many people and too many choices! I sure would like that old truck though.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you'll post the photo of you and Santa.
Hi Henny- Perhaps your like me - I'll look around at the shops -see what is there and a couple of days later go back to purchase...not the best method as sometimes what you wanted to buy isn't available anymore- oh well. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteI so glad you had a good time. I love the picture of Andee and Santa! I bet the picture of you with Santa is really great too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you and Andee had good time together. Sometimes not getting aold red trucks, green trucks or blue ones even.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Oh! Henny..! Bit disappointing....! :(
ReplyDeleteShort on the photos..would liked to have
seen a photo of the framed cow perhaps..!
Did'nt it go down to well...! Never mind..!
Love the truck though..! :).

Well, a fun trip and you must have had huge will power not to buy. But the older I get, the less thinks I feel I can't live without.

I love cow portraits! I have my little collection of cards featuring a cow. Got one for christmas, one for spring, one for summer and one for fall. Of course they're small cards in bigger frames, so you have to get really close to admire them...I think I would have paid the 40$ for the cow picture...My problem is that I always find excuses not to make the desired purchase, for the sake of saving the money. My mother's training, I guess: save for an emergency! Anyway, what counts is that you spent the day with your daughter, though I understand if you didn't enjoy yourself with all that crowd. And Santa really was handsome, his costume is beautiful. Blessings, Melba!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just can't do a place justice with photos. Too overwhelming and too much to see. I just went to a
ReplyDeleteminiature doll house show, and even with all the pictures I took, it really does not show the real side of a show.
I can just imagine the number of people at the craft show with you. Makes it hard to get a good view of everything.
Hope you got your "work" done before Poppy got home!
Lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun day you and daughter Andee must have had. My daughter and I are long overdue a mother-daughter day. I usually feel pretty good when I come home empty-handed for I definitely don't need to bring anything else in - well, unless it is something for outside in the garden or shanty.
ReplyDeleteAww how sweet. Christmas is my favorite time of the year but I really don't like a big crowds either. They used to not bother me but the older I get I am not a big fan of crowds. Love seeing the sweet pictures of Andee. Love you both!
ReplyDeleteI would take that truck in a heartbeat! I bet it was a fun day for you.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter or my sister will say to me the same thing "You can make this yourself much cheaper" that may be true but I don't want to make a lot of stuff anymore. I would have loved this and I would have loved the framed cow print. I like the fat pig prints too.
ReplyDeleteWe went to a craft show here and it seemed like every one was selling home made jewelry. Repetitive. I love to go to these crafts shows anyhow. Fun to get out.
betsy
Glad you to go and spend the day, Hennie! It looks like fun! I think your aprons are lovely and look and wear like the real vintage aprons, only in better shape. Have a wonderful weekend, Terry

ReplyDeleteNonsense! If your profile picture is anything to go by, you are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had fun with your daughter. She sure is pretty.. I have a feeling just like her mama.

I am glad you had good sales at the craft sale...but oh, I so loved seeing picks of your family. It looks like a good time was had by all.
