Halloween on Henny Penny Lane...
For Halloween, my daughter Lynn did something with her journal called "October Daily," where she did a journal spread each day in October. Her journal is about witches, learning more about what happened in history and how the witch-hunt craze became so horrible and widespread. The journal is also fun and full of bright paper, sketches and old images. This particular spread is about my twin sister and her being born in what they called a "veil."
Lynn's journals are amazing, but this "October Daily", to me, is super amazing. One of my favorite entries is Episode 7. You can see Lynn's Episode 7, and others, on YouTube at abitofbirdsong.

Happy Halloween Henny Penny! :) Lynn's journal is so creative, what a great idea. Very interesting about the veil...that's quite a story. I never knew about caul-bearers, thanks so much for posting her video!

ReplyDeleteI deleted my previous comment because auto check put 'cup bearers' instead of 'caul bearers' in my comment. I want to say Wow, I like this journal of Lynn's. I am reading now more about caul bearers. So interesting. I have never heard of it. I am going to check out more of Lynn's videos on you tube. Thank you for sharing.

That is so interesting. I had heard of being born in a veil before but this gave even more information. She's very creative.

ReplyDeleteLove Lynn's tale about the caul and the story that goes with it. She is a "chip off the old block" for sure so creative like you, dear Hen. I love your blog and even though I don't comment much or follow you due to working, I read it all the time. I would love it if you would show how you take cuttings and how you take care of them through the season. Love Terry
