A Green Post

Dear Friends,

Have you all totally given up on me? Sure hope not. The days come and go so quickly, and time flies, even when you are not having fun! And folks, the older you get the faster the days past! And besides all that, I am getting nothing accomplished here...I don't know anything anymore, except that I have a Great White Pyrenees puppy!

And this great puppy fills up my days. Eli had his last visit with the vet this week, finishing up his shots and weighing in at 39 pounds. He will be four months old May 13th. Another week and he can have his first "puppy play day" at Log Cabin Kennel, here in Louisburg. We both need this play day!

Our long long wait for spring has finally ended. There is green everywhere! Everywhere, I'm telling you! And I am loving it!

Poppy said just this morning, "why can't we just mow our yard like everybody else"? How boring would that be! What's wrong with the yard looking a little snaky, as mama would say!

Golden Star. A little yellow flower that grows wild here in North Carolina.

Doesn't green just change everything?

Easter Sunday, my cousin Pat and her husband Mike brought me another very old piece of furniture...this chair from the 1930's. Pat enjoyed it in her yard for several years. Now it is mine to enjoy. I've put a Clematis vine in an old basket in the center. Not sure how I want this spot to look. Will take another picture when the plants fill out more.

Looking up into more green...

Sorry for getting carried away with the green and simply overloading this post with pictures! Thank you for visiting. Now I must catch up with your posts. :)

Love,
Henny Penny

  1. Yes, the glorious greens. It's easy to get overwhelmed with them. The world is a beautiful place in spring green.
I really like seeing pictures of your yard. I want to keep seeing it as it grows and gets "snakier"?

    1. And I am sure it will get snakier. I get overwhelmed with weeds. Your gardens are so beautiful and well kept. Sometimes I would like to start over here and do it right.

  2. Everything certainly is green, even your new chair! Grass is boring. Mowing is boring. I love your yard.

    1. Hey Vicki, I'm thinking the pollen is about gone here. It was supposed to be worse this year but actually it has not been as bad as last year. I hate the porches when everything is covered in pollen. Can't even sit in a chair without getting covered in the yellow mess! Love you too!

    1. We had planned to start obedience classes May 1st but Eli got his last shots April 29th. The vet said we should wait another week or so. Now it will be June 1st. Been wanting to tell you that Eli is now walking on a leash. I was about to give up! When I finally decided that he was not going to be the boss, it worked. I stood my ground when he started that pulling and bucking like a horse! Now we do fine and I tell him constantly what a good boy he is. He is very smart! We love this puppy! About the yard, I love the wild gardens too, and a lot of the weeds are blooming pretty right now!

    3. That standing your ground is called 'being a tree':)
Your yard/garden is lovely. Your green looks like our green, going gangbusters here right now and is getting overwhelming.
