As far as poisonous snakes, we do have Copperheads and their coloring blends in with the leaves. I am so afraid of stepping on one. That black snake in the chicken house has got to go. It killed a hen Thursday night. We must have accidentally shut the snake up with the chickens! I was supposed to get more planted, but I was out having a Frugal Friday, so I've got to get it done today. I too have a spot I would like to cover with Ajuga. I have a patch that is growing out into the lawn, so I'm going to 'borrow' some from there.
Do you have poisonous snakes there? We don't here, although at Oliver there are rattlesnakes, (probably in the dry rocky areas) but we've never seen one. Snakes rustling anywhere near my feet freak me out!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938874724231860923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-971541568171657986.post-91044867284783013942014-04-25T19:59:49.963-07:002014-04-25T19:59:49.963-07:00Putting humus into clay soil makes all the differe...Putting humus into clay soil makes all the difference. we have to do the same with our sand and gravel soil.
I look forward to seeing your garden grow and produce.Linda Reederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07665601809156707572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-971541568171657986.post-54789856883428256472014-04-25T12:37:17.185-07:002014-04-25T12:37:17.185-07:00Ajuga is a great ground cover...it spreads by runn...Ajuga is a great ground cover...it spreads by runners so you could transplant some runners here and there. The last few years the beans that we have planted are so stringy especially after they have been cooked or canned. It is like the strings start growing in them after they are strung.
Love you!
vickit43https://www.blogger.com/profile/13323200977207915004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-971541568171657986.post-32209677413657988912014-04-24T15:42:01.272-07:002014-04-24T15:42:01.272-07:00Your garden soil is looking good now.
