Dear friends,
Gosh, I've been trying for days now to post something. Last night I did finish a cute apron...cute because of the fabric, not my sewing...
reminds me of kitchens back in the 1950's...
I made a little half apron, or gathering apron, from the same fabric...
and did the craziest thing...Cut it out with the print up-side-down.
My neighbor Ann was singing my praises (I can't imagine) at the beauty shop where she gets her hair cut and came home with requests for three aprons. Think I'll go ahead and send the up-side-down one too. Might be good for a laugh anyhow.
The gold fabric with cherries below is another apron for the ladies at the beauty shop.
Oh, last week I went to Walmart in Henderson to buy fabric. Our Walmart here in Louisburg doesn't carry fabric. Anyhow, I needed solid colors for making bias tape for the aprons...
and look! Did you know Walmart sells two-yard packages of solid color cotton/polyester fabric for $5.oo each? I was tickled to death. Two yards is perfect!
and speaking of fabric! Remember the boxes of fabric Diane from Kentucky sent me? Oh my gosh! What a gift! Thank you again Diane.
A couple of days ago I walked outside to take a picture of all the leaves I need to start raking up...
but good grief! You should see the yard this morning! We were under a high wind warning all day yesterday; 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts up to 60 mph.
Oops! No bright blue skies in these pictures, but these were just passing clouds..."fairing up clouds", as mama used to say.
