My nephew cracked some ribs, and quite a few weeks later ended up with a massive haematoma in his lungs.<br />I enlarged your photo of all the half grown chicks. I made a quick guess. I'm guessing that the group of three chicks on the left are roosters. Not sure of the one directly behind the hen. The other three look like they are hens. By this point the roosters will have a slightly more obvious comb, and their tail feathers are more curved. There are three there that look like their tail feathers are quite straight, so hopefully they are hens. Another big storm is blowing through tonight which should bring down the est of the leaves. I'd be tempted to get some anyway but we have a nosy and unpleasant neighbour who likes to 'tattle' to by-laws so we dare not try. If 'they' find out they make you get rid of them.
