The combination is warm and cozy and reminds me a little of Christmas. Dumperoo sure does look comfortable, too. I love melons, especially honey dew and watermelon, but I've never had a citron melon.

I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July... :)Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01062873564239631930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-971541568171657986.post-84875139584698150132015-07-01T16:27:41.680-07:002015-07-01T16:27:41.680-07:00I haven't made it out into the garden yet toda...I haven't made it out into the garden yet today. Would be fun to grow something that big though:) We camped at the Grist Mill one year, that is where the Zucca was brought back to the Okanagan.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938874724231860923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-971541568171657986.post-30101695318023552862015-07-01T11:55:59.291-07:002015-07-01T11:55:59.291-07:00I had to look that up. I was interested in your comment about citron seeds not coming up but yet you had volunteers that did. That is what happens when I sow Dill. If it comes up it is puny but volunteers grow amid my flowers everywhere and I'm having to pull some out because its everywhere. Funny, huh? In the Okanagan area they grow a very large, heritage citron called "Zucca". It weighs in between 60 and 100 pounds and is used for pickles (??), jelly and preserves.Granny Marigoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15858237999602347848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-971541568171657986.post-41495296981092354032015-07-01T10:48:57.099-07:002015-07-01T10:48:57.099-07:00I'd never heard of the type melon you talked a...I'd never heard of the type melon you talked about.
