A little butterfly video...such as it is...

While trying to work outside this morning, honestly, the flutter of butterflies and the buzz of bees caught my attention. Hope you won't mind my showing you a little more of the yard.

but wait, that's not all! Here's a teeny tiny video...

Sure hope the little videos will play. I simply had to share all the pretty butterflies with someone...

Poppy has been taking pictures of the snowball bush. Watching, as it progresses from green to big white snowballs...

This was March 27th

and this April 2nd

and today. It's beginning to rain and the wind just wrapped the flag around the pole. Maybe I can get another picture after this next round of storms passes, and the sun comes back.

So far, the bad storms have missed us. Thankfully!! There are storms forecast for later tonight and early tomorrow.

Poppy is kinda proud of this snowball bush. He bought it on sale several years ago and set it out here at the end of the back porch.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hope to be back soon.

Love,
Henny

  6. My computer won't let me view the videos which is too bad. Something about a plug-in needing to be updated. Obviously I haven't a clue how to do that.
The Snowball bush is just so lovely. No wonder Poppy is proud of it. I can hardly wait until a few more things start blooming around here.

  9. Those butterflies are amazing! I've never seen so many in one place except at a commercial butterfly house. The azaleas are gorgeous, too, one of my favorite bushes. Poppy's snowball bush is more like a tree. Years ago I planted one that got almost that big before we had to move away. I loved to cut huge bunches of its flowers to bring in the house. I'm generally not a fan of white flowers, but snowballs are an exception. They bring back good memories of my childhood. I watched your videos full screen. It makes for a sort of fuzzy image, but I just had to see those beauties close up. I'm glad the storms passed you. They've been terrible the last couple of days across a lot of the country.

dear Henny, I left you two messages yesterday telling you how very much I loved your videos of butterflies and flowers and both of those messages just disappeared! I am trying again as now I see other messages here and hope it is working. Anyway I LOVED your videos and could hear birds singing too...and I absolutely love your snowball bush. Your yard reminds me of the Garden of Eden! Lucky you. You're living in a beautiful place. I know a lot of it has to do with your hard work. Thank you for sharing your beauty with us!

  20. Poppy has sold me on snowball plants. I'm going to see if I can find one in a nursery around here. We had them when I was a kid and I remember how pretty they were.

  21. Dear Friend,

I so enjoyed the videos that you shared here. Makes me want to go out and buy some Azaela bushes! I have a hosta at the end of our porch and last year I planted some snap dragons there around it. The butterflies really enjoyed the snap dragons. Who would have thought? My beautiful forsythia i s covered in the white stuff this morning...and it continues to snow. I really do hope that this is our Easter snow that we normally get.

It is fun to watch the progression of a bush or plant! I loved seeing the snowball bush in its different stages.

I'm sorry that I missed your previous post...but just went back and read it. Love the bunnies that arrive in your mailbox each spring! :)

  24. Your video just made my day! I am amazed to see so many butterflies this early. How beautiful! My azaleas are blooming. Now I need to get out there and see if any butterflies have found them. Poppy has good reason to be proud of that snowball bush. It is a beauty. My husband has wanted one for years. We just need to find a space to squeeze it in.
